  • XD Sadly, we would have to wait untill 2010 to see our favourite alien in the shower againXD

Pertwee looked rather hot for his age.

  • 50% Austin Powers 50% Bea Arthur oh Doc 3 you legend!

  • Jon Pertwee Has A Tattoo

  • he nicks clothes and cars i thought it was just clothes due to matt but apparently it's custom to nick cars now to!

  • @DoctorWhoStar100 He also nicked a space-time machine...

The Brigadier returned this car and got the Doctor a new similar one if I remember correctly.

  • @DoctorWhoStar100 The Eighth Doctor also aquired his outfit in a similar manner.

  • Reads description: Song by Jon Pertwee.

I KNEW SINGING IN THE SHOWER WAS MUSICAL!

  • is this the 3rd doctor? Soz 4 the ignorance, but I've only seen the new series of doctor who (and the new ones are just hot!!)

  • @Cynderdragoness13 This 1970 clip is from Spearhead From Space, Jon Pertwee's (the 3rd Doctor) first adventure after being forced to regenerate by the Time Lords at the end of season six's final episode The War Games. Both of these are available on Netflix, as are a whole bunch of episodes of the original series. If you've only seen the new show, then there are 7 Doctors (8 if you count the american movie as part of the original series) that you haven't met yet! Check them out!

  • @Cynderdragoness13 Yup, that's him. One of the better classic doctors, not that any version of him could possibly be not awesome. Already as eager to "permanently borrow" things as in the new series.XD Doesn't have his epic reputation yet, but you can progressively see him earn it over the course of the classic series (which all takes place *before* the Time War, just so you won't be confused) There is some gradual character developement, but at times you think he hasn't changed at all. XD

  • I love it. He just regenerated a brand new body. When did he have time to stop at the tattoo place?

  • @jayescott Well, actually... if you believe in Season 6B... there was a lot that he did that we never saw ;)

  • @jayescott He regenerated with the tattoo?

  • I didn't know the Dcotor was so 'hood!! LMAO, who knew Timelords stole cars!!!

  • Wash off the old Troughton funk and be on with it then.

  • Jon Pertwee singing in the shower <3

  • Anyone else notice he was showering with his watch on?

  • @TylerCharlesFisher - Yep, I saw the watch.

  • @TylerCharlesFisher Well, the Doctor is weird like that. He probably forgot to take it off or wears it for some sort of extremely unlikely emergency.

  • I love the 'Reserved for Doctors' sign on the right at 2:25! XD

  • He's got quite a fit body for an old man.

  • @Feisty1967 He wasnt that old really. I think he was only in his early 50's when he started. Jon died when he was like 70.

  • @Feisty1967

He was 51 here I think. He was an active man and sexy in his own way.

  • And to think that people complained at the amount of nudity in the 11th doctor's first episode! Sheesh. Saw far more of Jon Pertwee here than of Matt Smith. And by the way, yum.

  • @Mommamacnz yea too much complaining "oh Amy Pond smooched up the doctor in her room before her wedding night, in kids show" & "ooh Matt Smith flashed his knackers" jeez people never seemed to be so touchy in the past, & Jon Pertwee was nearly nude & No one cried like today

  • Oooooooh... Pertwee was pretty smexy for his age... I do prefer shirtless Matt Smith, but honestly, this is christmas! I bet a lot of grandmothers all around the UK died of a nosebleed when this first aired XD

And of course, still stealing Clothes out of a hospital...3, 8 and 11 did it. It's almost a tradition now.

  • Wow, Pertwee!Doctor is looking pretty good there! ^_~

  • @paulejohnson1 Actually, I think they have it almost on par with the 11th Doctor series. Vincent and the Doctor was one of the best for sure so far. And as the comments above show, they paid homage to this scene. :D

  • I never knew 'Bessie' was originally red...

  • @Cromford88 Nah it's not Bessie i think, he gets Bessie after this because he liked the red one which wasn't his... i think lol

  • LOL what a classic scene, Jon was a pretty cool doctor, he looks so young there! The old jallopy he takes off in kinda reminds me of his car Bessie he drives around in later on!

  • Jon Pertwee sadly died of a heart attack whist on holiday in the states in the spring of '96.

  • A great debut of a great Doctor - available on DVD.

  • He was the third Doctor and played the part from 1970 to 1974. I'm pretty sure he was born in 1919 which would put him at 51 when he played the Doctor. I believe he died while doing a Convention circuit for Science Fiction, the same as the second Doctor did.

  • the 2nd doctor died??

  • Yea, his medical doctor said that he shouldn't make is yearly trip to America for the sci-fi conventions but he went anyway. He ordered room service in the morning after a long event at The Magnum Opus Con II and died of a heart attack before it was delivered. that was in 1987. He was suppose to appear on stage with Sylvester McCoy that day.

  • you are aware that john is dead now ( rest in peace )

  • HA, the only tattooed Doctor. *grin* At least that we saw.....

  • I have an excuse for the tattoo - it's a mark that the Time Lords put on him since he is an exile.

  • yeah but the tat dissapeared when he regenerated thus explaining why no future regenerations also had the same 'mark' on their arm

  • was the only time in the classic series were you see the doctor bare-cheasted?

  • I believe JP is about 48 in this clip. Most of the doctors have been in their 40's thereabouts. Except for our new doctors.

Great clip Great Actor, he is missed.

  • Jon Pertwee DIED?! =(... WHEN? And how old was PETER DAVIDSON when he first played the DOCTOR?(He looked to B in HIS 30'S,Not in his 40's age) How come THIS DOCTOR didnt know how to drive that old model 1930's-FORD When BETSEY(His YELLOW SUPER CAR=)P....) Was about the same age,Or 10 years younger than that model shown?

  • And the fifth one - wasn't he 29-30-31-32 when playing the doctor?

  • I'm taking a guess here that he was about 35 maybe older and that's based on the fact that he is in his 80's now.

  • Peter Davidson was 29 years old when he took on the role of the Doctor.

  • Can anyone tell me how old was JP by that time? Cause he looks great in the shower...

  • He was either 49 or 50 when that was filmed. (He was born July 1919, this was filmed in 1969)

  • hmm... methinks he was born in 1919... so he must have been 51.

  • didnot now he had a tato

  • why have we not seen David T in the shower yet? lol

  • Yes I would like some of that please.

  • Someone turn that damn phone off! LOL.

Wow, Jon Pertwee was very good lookin' back then. Nice bod!

  • So true , John was HOT !!! ;)

  • Guess I'm not the only one who thinks the Third Doc was hot XD

  • Not at all , lol ;D

  • ur not alone lol

  • Pertwee = GODLY MAN!

  • Of course if you heard that sound at 1:12 these days, you'd just thik someone's phone is going off.

  • JP's first story, first color story...and some Doctor skin! Oh, yes!

  • I think that's the only time they ever showed pertwee's tatoo.

  • No, it was also visible in The Silurians when he (ahem) stripped down to a white T-shirt to work on the Cyclotron's computer. rawwrrrrr

  • And you can catch a few glimpses at it in Part 1 of Spearhead from Space

  • I'm pretty sure it was in another episode or another scene from this episode.

  • @vasp99 I've seen this before but never really noticed the tatoo. You would think that they would have shot him from a different angle so it wouldn't be visible. Would have made more sense. Kind of difficult to explain how he would have it.

  • @vasp99 maybe its a timelord asbo mark? xD

  • @vasp99 They showed it once later (quite close to the last Pertwee episode) where he was lying under his car fixing it. I didn't know they showed it here too! XD

  • @vasp99 no so, it is clearly visable in Doctor who and the Silurians when Pertwee wears a white t shirt at the end of that story.

  • @vasp99 That and another time in 'The Siluarians'

  • @vasp99 It's not. I'm pretty sure he wore a shirt-sleeved t-shirt at one point.

  • JP was my first, & is still my favourite Doc. Nothing against the rest, fine fellows all of them. It's a bit like your first love isn't it. You never forge your first time

  • very,very,very YUMMY!!!!

  • about time all Jon Pertwee stories were released on dvd

  • Love his costume!! Best Doctor ever! Great stuff.

  • Unexpected naked Doctor! :p

And rather dashing in that ruffly informally-acquired outfit and fedora. Yum.

  • He has a tattoo on his right arm...

  • That's not actually meant to be the charater's, just the actor's from when Jon Pertwee was in the navy.

  • All the same, I wish they had stuck a fake tattoo on David Tennant for his "naked Doctor" scene in the finale. Would've made my whole year!

  • My 'personal canon' is that Three had the tattoo because the High Council marked him before sending him into exile. Of course, I *could* be overthinking things just a little.... :)

  • why did the doctor steal the car. it's a bit immorral isn't it. not at all like the doctor. (although one coukd blame is on post-regeneration sickness the Doctor always has)

  • Im sure he considered himself only borrowing it for a bit.

  • He did get the Brigadier to buy the car for him at the end of the episode. So I guess that really just makes it a sort of unauthorized test drive

  • Ah. Fair enough.

  • He did get the Brigadier to buy the car for him at the end of the episode. So I guess that just makes it a sort of unauthorized test drive.

  • O.O

NEKKID TIME LORD!! IN TEH SHOWER!!...SINGING!!

Now if only they would do this with David Tennant. . .

  • Seems your dream came true. Only he wasn't in a shower in Journey's End.

  • Eew.

  • he was quite sexi in that coat thing lol

i cant belive i just wrote that

  • lol

  • omg someone replied lol. well him n david tannant = the best

  • Jon had the tattoo put on when he was in the navy. Pertwee was an officer in the Royal Navy, spending some time working in naval intelligence during the Second World War. He was a crew member of HMS Hood and was transferred off the ship shortly before it was sunk, losing all but three men.

  • Is there some sort of explaination why the Doctor would actually have one?

  • Aaaaaiieee naked Doctor Who!!!!

  • Just "Doctor" or "The Doctor" WHO is not his actual name.

  • Wow.. I have not seen the third doc for a while..

  • Probably not quite that much of him either, huh? XD

  • I used to watch the series of the Third Doctor many time.. He was a very popular one before the forth one hit on the air. He was playing a very serious type one, even though his real profession was the famous stage comedian in London.. I miss him since he has passed away some years. One of this series has introduced a bunch of Siluian/Earth Reptilans.. they are best ones standing out among Dr Who dramatic Series

  • lol

  • The Tattoo is a Time Lord Criminal Band According to the spin off media

  • On his right arm i noticed...

  • the doc has a tatoo
