Celica rally history

A few things, The celica never stop being produced. It did how ever stopped being produced under Toyota division, it continieued with Scion tC (tC = Toyota Celica)

Second all the GT4's not sure about the first one, but the rest had the same Engine 3SGTE so how is it that the 185 is slower then the 205.. noob

actually the REAL problem with the supra was that it could not pass smog. the last year there were made here(1998) they were not sold in CA,NJ and other states. japan made supras till 2002 i think

Well you can say Toyota is the Japanese GM once a car is not meeting their expectations, they just go head and can it. That's what happen to the Supra during the last year for it. Sales was doing poorly and they cut the supra off.

TTE was caught cheating... it wasn't toyota themselves. TTE modified the turbo housing to breathe more air then was allowed thru the 50mm orfice. under full boost the housing moved backwards allowing more air to bypass the restrictor. but them came back and kicked everyone ass again. before leaving for F1..

The Toyota Celica is a great car, it sucks that they stopped making it. hopefully one day they will bring it back. They stopped making all the good sports cars.

@admukai I had a 1989 GT4, which was brilliant, but if I am honest, handling and braking were a long way short of what you would expect of a modern sports car. Nice performance (mine was slightly tweaked) but a slightly nervy experience at times. Improved with the ST205, but by then, quite a heavy car, more of a GT car than an out and out sports car really.

The Celica was such an awesome car. I hope one day they will bring it back to the good ol' days, rear wheel and 4-wheel drive versions, na or turboed, doesn't matter, just a real car again. I have an 82 22r Celica and it is the coolest car I've ever had. Looking to build a 300 horse 22r. Any suggestions besides nitrous? Motor swao maybe? I love carbs though, just put a couple 42m Mikuni side-drafts on it and it roars!

have a look at the GT4OC. GT4 owners club (uk). I have an st205 and the lads there are really a wealth of knowledge for for all celica's. there might be suitable info on engine mods there. there is a lot of info for the st185 & st205 anyway.

they pulled out of the WRC's to so they can put more money into Formula One.... its a shame... GT4 should be the way all celicas should be... unlike their rivals, Subaru and Mitsubishi stayed loyal to WRC

perfect cars for many years , the most stupid thing what Toyota could do was quit with the Celica. Even was the last generation not a real celica anymore . Real celica's are rally monsters .

i have gt4 st205 its wicked perfect car just cant seem to understand why on the odd occasion i get dirty looks of people walking past tho i dont drive stupid or rev loud or anythin like that guess some people dont appreciate real cars just expect them to look like a shiny plastic toy lol
