i am a mother of a child that died suddenly. it is coming upto a year. i see what they are doing in this video. i totally understand. for all the people who can't see it. watch the begining over and over again. This should be made more aware of.!!!!!!!!!
Having never experienced the loss of a child, someone passed this to me and it has certainly bought an issue I never thought about, to my attention and will certainly think about donating and passing it on.
oh my,i cannot believe you used public funds to make this video, and that you compared losing a child to giving birth, the pain of birth is soon forgotten and you have all the joys that are to come-but the loss of a child as our family know only to well is never forgotten.
I also agree with what someone else has said on youtube, this totally undermines the mental anguish of losing a chid.
35 yrs ago this February, the sadness is with me always. The film struck me straight away as soon as I saw the pain on their faces and brought it all back when I lost my Beutiful little bot at 9 1/2 mths old.
As a professional who is involved in the sudden death of baby's (but never experience the loss myself)and knew what this film was about, it still shocked me and gave me shivers up my spine! I think that it will have a big impact on your target audience!
i am not sure that this works. i think the connection between the pain of childbirth and the loss of a child is tenuous. i lost my son ben twenty five years ago this thursday - you cannot possibly draw any link or parallel between the two kinds of pain, childbirth is physical, a kind of agony and ecstasy rolled into one, cot death is emotional - a dark and fathomless agony, with no outcome but emptiness and longing.
Cot death is not the only way to loose a baby unfortunately.
I lost my 1st baby at 9 months pregnant out of the blue after a perfect pregnancy, with no warnings and no explanations. The pain never goes away. We still don't know why she died :-(
no one really understands the pain until it happens. four and a half years on i still miss adam, such a bright boy cruelly taken away from us. so if this film helps then good luck, the powerful the better.

No, that's childbirth and totally natural - but the loss of my baby son is a pain that never goes away.

If only the pain lasted as short a time as this video!

My only son died 25 years ago this December and the agony of losing him nearly drove me mad.
Even though his sisters are now 22 and 17 the knowledge that a child can be gone in an instant is with me every day.
I liked the film-the anguish felt honest; the pain visceral, wordless, defying description.

Don't like it at all. Entirely undermines the mental anguish losing a child brings with it. Somehow too raw.
