@starmanskye - true "suicide missions" are not productive. The Kamakazi were a waste of men, material and time, for example. They never did any significant damage. The soldier who dies for his country is trying to live, and is forced by circumstance to surrender his life. Patton had it right when he said no dumb bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.

America doesn't have a history of unjustified invasions, so you're wrong right off the bat.

Usually the birds don't damage the cockpit window but more so they foul (pun not intended) up the engines (prop and jet) when they fly, or get sucked, into them. I imagine most planes have re-enforced windows but since this plane was equipped for landing on water a engine failure may have been overcome with luck by gliding towards, and landing on the, water so it was necessary to 'Fabio' the pilot (thus eliminating control of the plane) and smash 1 of its pontoons on the mountain 4 good measure.

Such wonderful cinematography. You're transported to another land. In contrast, I just watched the Youtube promoted "teaser trailer" for Ridley Scott's new "film," "A Day in the Life." Jesus. What happened to society? It used to be the baseline norm to have wonderful, alive visuals that bespoke of mystery and other worlds. Movies like The Edge. Now it's the ideal for images to be dead, flat, digital plastic. Sometimes I feel as if I am the only one with eyes and a working heart left.
