If you do this in SMP (1.1) You can't hit them (just like @Slazkify) said. BUT instead of digging a deeper hole and getting hurt, you can throw snowballs at their lower body. Make yourself a snowfarm (search on youtube) just outside your nether-portal and level up as easy in SMP as single player!

The Blaze Farm I made just suffocated the Blaze to death and never gave me anything.

@SadChadable You can't let the pistons kill them. You have to turn them off before they die so that you can one-shot them. In order to get anything from a mob, you have to hit it at least once.

@EthosLab Regarding my last comment, i have the machine fully functioning already...it'll do exactly what you have now only with 1 button rather than 2 that just alternates between opening and then sufficating, and then resetting the trap

@EthosLab Why would you use an RS-NOR latch and have 2 buttons when you could use a t-flip-flop and have one button that when the signal goes on it closes the gates and crushes the blazes, and then when you hit the button again and the signal goes off, it re-opens the gate again...if you need help doing that im sure i could help easy...

Etho, I found two blaze spawners practically next to each other. If I were to build this would I just make the spawning area for them bigger and build the rest the size it is in the video or would I have to increase the size of the whole thing?

Everyone, listen here. This DOES work in SMP (currently 1.1), BUT there is some mob hitboxes bugs, which means that u can only hit dem in their upperbody, so you can't hit them in the legs, as Ethos does. You have to dig on down, so you can hit their upperbody, but in this case you will get hurt. Thumps up so people will eventually see.

for the rings of sticky pistons around 6:30 use glass in front of the pistons because the glass wont suffocate them.

@SantomPh I built it too, but the thing that doesn't work is the lava at the top. when the piston push a block under the lava sources the lava won't go away. to fix it you have to place 2 pistons at all 4 corners above the holes for the lava to flow through. You will have to wire the extra pistons up with redstone of course...

@Bisqu3 if you make a really big mine they usually spawn in there, because it's hard to miss slime chunks :P but i was using rei's mini-map and made a hollow area in 3 chunks, it works quite nicely.

@Ro4aL you could switch to peacefull mode, remove the source block and place blocks on all the lava, but if you don't want to switch to peacefull mode, make a fire resistance potion (my english isn't perfect i know, but it is also not my main language)

@hossdotcom1 Also tip for getting slimes: Slimes will despawn after about 30 seconds if they're more than 36 blocks away from you. So a large slime farm with a collection point far from the spawning pads will not work.

@zTyphoid Have you built it yet? It's almost more deadly without it, trying to clear out the spawning area while Blazes are spawning in groups of 3 every 20 seconds. If you use the lava, you can disable spawning while you safely dig out the 8x8x2 block around the spawner.

@dk4everX The lava is for deactivating the xp farm, while you are not using it.It makes enoug light, so the blazes won't spawn.

@chucklez117 There's other designs made for zombies. They have some good ones that pretty much make water-trains that float the zombies to a drop, drop them, and then you finish them off. A google can help you find a better explanation, but hopefully i gave you a good idea what you're looking for

if you "sort of" need to be in creative mode to get all the stuff you need to build this thing, then I don't see the point, since you're in creative mode. You could just get the blaze rods. If you manage to get all the items required to build this machine, in survival mode, then cheers
