I so LOVE Kenny ... always have from the 1st time I heard "Silver Morning." So sad to learn about his death last year...a truly great loss of one of the few genuine ARTISTS. I like to think he's now directing one of heaven's angels' choirs.

The Silver Morning Album is a classic and got me through many days and nights at UHa in 1976-77. He played a concert there opening for Hall and Oats and I had the honor to pick him up at the airport to bring him to campus. What a humble and gracious guy. RIP Mr Rankin.

Undoubtedly one of his best songs, I just found out that he passed. I was at a club in south Jersey when I heard him live and talked to him, personally, afterwards. He was very gracious and I will never forget him and his smooth voice. I would have loved to do a duet with him.

My Father, Jack Segal, wrote this song. It was my fathers belief, as it is mine, that no one sang "When Sunny Gets Blue" better. Kenny was a dear friend to our family. He sang this at my fathers funeral ( the best rendition I ever heard). We miss Kenny very much. As does the music world. RIP.

Kenny Rankin was one of the Best Singers ever. I cried when I heard he passed away, and looking at this video, I started to cry again, remembering joking with him about his guitar(may be the same guitar in this concert) remembering his concerts, his jokes, and having met him a few times. Rankin was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in early 2009. He died in Los Angeles, California - where he had resided for many years - from the disease on June 7, 2009. He was 69 years old.

I was so busy in June that I somehow missed the news that Kenny Rankin had died. Today I stumbled upon the news on the internet and I was so shocked and saddened, I cried all morning and am crying again. I never got to see him in live performance, but have loved his music since the 1970s, when I first heard Silver Morning. I wore that record out. I am so so sad that he is gone. thanks to all who posted these videos so that we don't have to miss him. ..we can see and hear him anytime.

I've been a fan of his since thr first time I saw him on the Merv Grifin show in the 70's. Your posting is the first I've heard of his passing. I use to drag a lot of my first dates to see him when ever he came to Boston. Ie was kind of a Litmus test for me, no like him, no 2nd date.
