For an audio equipment company, what's with the audio in his descriptions of the product? Fail. And did the makeup artist insist on putting extra Vaseline on his forehead? Is super-shiny the new black? Quite lame for an official video.
@eggbertsmith This is "shot at the PAS International Convention in Indianapolis". It's shot at a convention with thousands of other sounds going on at once. Nice criticism with zero context
next time I will lend a $20 clip-on microphone and a $5 cable to this professional audio company to record the demonstrator's voice correctly... just ask :)))
despite this it is an amazing instrument. really.
I'm just learning about this for the first time today and I WANT ONE NOW!!!
The sounds at 3:47 are KILLER! And I love the timbales with loops you can play along with. I wanna hear more loops. Some generous person PLEASE buy me one!!!!
This looks awesome! Correct me if im wrong, but isn't it strange the best response sound from an electric drum didn't come from being applied to the kits rather than an original, very cool electric drum toy.
The reason for the logo portion of the rim is that it protects the main transducer which lies directly beneath it, underneath the drum head. Striking the logo section will produce the same sound as the rim, as they are attached. It is not necessarily intended as a striking surface though.

Hi Geoffrey, Many thanks for your truly great demo videos. I own and play 2 each of congas, jembes and bongos, as well as 2 buckets of assorted percussion instruments. This would be a great additition to my collection. Is it true that Korg is giving a free wavedrum to all percussionists named Geoffrey Brown?. Best wishes, Geoffrey Brown, Geasonville MD.
Why oh Why do KORG Insist on using this GOD Awful design of Silver rim & white skin? Why not a nice Dark Red or Black? The skin looks used & blackened already. Amazing sounds tho.
The only thing I like is how it responds to brushes and hands. That is the future of electronic percussion. Get those pads on a kit and you have a pretty realistic sounding set of toms.
yeah... because you know... you can't go out and buy a 1/4" stereo to USB adaptor with recording software for a whopping $25 that took me all of one minute searching on google.
@groovindj doesn't really affect the sound much, but it does affect the feel of the drum. What you'll notice the most will probably be brush wise, or swoshing your hands across, if the head is rough to the touch or just smooth
Can you record loop directly on the Wavedrum ?
DrStrawfoot 3 weeks ago
Does it have cymbals, simultaneously with drums? In other words can I create a mini drum set for live performance? And can a bass pedal be connected?

is the logo covering the top part of the drum necessary?
jeffisstoned 1 year ago
@jeffisstoned Yes, because the logo itself is a touch-sensitive synth pad along with the central drum and the rims :P

@Azmodawn @tablameister was talking about the difficulty of editing patches on a 3-character LCD screen. editing them on a PC would be much easier.

It's just a standard Remo snare drum head. This means you can also put different types of head on for different results.
