Hello Dr. Cathy, just wanted to say thank you so much for your precious video and I will keep looking all your videos. but one question for you. now i am at only 15weeks, so can I start doing your exercises? if not when would be the best week for me to start working out? Thanks for your advice.
Hello Dr. Cathy, just wanted to say thank you so much for your time, and advise. Been exercising with you and no problem at all. Its making me stronger as I am now 35 weeks.I visited my Doc. and no problem at all. Keep on, yo doing great.
Thank you Dr Cathy. I am 30weeks preg and really needed something to do for my weight because I am weighing 94 kg. However, do you think this is going to be bad since i have an umbilical hernia? please advise.
@winniemugisha Winnie, depends on the extent. My suggestion is that you speak with your midwife about your exercise routines. Possibly show her the videos you would like to do and let her help determine if it is safe for you.I always say that my videos are designed to be safe and effective for most healthy women to perform throughout their entire pregnancy, but if there are any complications or concerns to please discuss with your health care provider. Congratulations and enjoy your pregnancy!
hi dr.cathy just wnt to say thankyou for ur helpful video..im on my 28weeks now and really suffering from upper back pain..but when i started to do this exercise Wow my back pain are gone so fast!! everynight after my long work my back pain is totally killing me and stressing me. HI drcathy :) Im 36 weeks pregnant ..My due date is very soon and i just started doing this warm up video and a 10 minutes walk.. Im going to do it everyday now until the big day ... Does it helps a lot? Thanks and More power :)
@dhanda22 Yes it will help you stay strong throughout labor and birth. Keep up the great work and pretty soon you'll be holding your precious baby in your arms.
Hi, I am 30, 7wks preg and very out of shape at 105kgs. I am looking to improve my fitness - but safely - currently I do nothing other than general housework etc. Do you think it would be beneficial to do this warm up followed by a 30min brisk walk daily for the first couple of weeks or should I be aiming for more so soon? If so can recommend what I can add to the workout? Thanks for your advice.
Depending on how you feel when you begin exercising, you may want to use this warm up & walk for 10-12 minutes each day for the first week.If that feels fine to you, then try to add the yoga or stretch video & see how you do.Gradually incresae your activity while keeping track of how you're feeling, how your heart rate is responding and how your body temperature is handling the activity.Walking is so good for your body and your baby's development. hi DR Cathy, i am 22 weeks pregnant and haven't done any exercises at all.\eversince, i was taught to not sit but squat whenever i move my bowel (TMI, sorry) since i am pregnant, i noticed that everytime i do that, i get a bulge on my pubic area.. i got worried so i googled it and found out that it was actually best to squat rather than sit on the bowl.. but it left me with no information about the bulging thing.. can you please explain this to me and tell me what i should do??
@pixelperfect Squatting is usually recommended to prevent pelvic floor prolapse in situations where there is increased risk. More importantly, fiber and water intake need to be significantly increased to prevent any straining. Please check with your midwife to determine if any damage has been done or if you are at risk of any damage. Also, explain the bulge and let her see what you're talking about to determine if that is some type of prolapse, rectocele, fat pad, etc...
@misule21 Sweet - glad to hear! Check out some of the videos I've posted of me working out with my babies. Fun stuff, great influence on them and still a good workout.
Often the pubic symphysis pain during pregnancy is due to the relaxation of strong ligaments on the posterior pelvis causing a slight shift of the pressure placed on the pubis, creating a pulling, tight or tender sensation. Squats shown in this video are designed to keep the largest muscles of the body strong - quads, hams and glutes - to help stabilize the pelvis and also to maintain strength throughout pregnancy. We actually hold a deep squat stretch to loosen the pelvis to aid in birth.
Dr Cathy, my wife did your exercise most of her pregnancy & it really helped her. In the 39th week, she did it again after a week. The same evening her water broke & 22 hours later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, naturally without pain medication. Your exercise gave her good stamina for labor. This video is a blessing to all pregnant mothers. My wife wants to continue doing this after she recovers from delivery. Thank you so much for this amazing video.
I´m leaving comments all over Your videos today, but I just want to tell other moms to be that I´ve wasted money on buying fancy pregnancy excercise videos with lots of camera angles, adapted music in the background and beatiful studio surroundings. But I always keep returning to Your videos just because they are so efficient, safe and straightforward. And somehow You succeed in putting in a "there You go" just when I need it. You´re doing a good deed! Thanks again!
I'm back in action! Keep working working out all of you blessed and beautiful expecting moms! I had a slip the other day, while cleaning at 6 months, 3 weeks. Be careful and do your yoga!
@StormyNoMore Hello Dr. I've discovered your videos today! i'm of 17 weeks and in Venezuela we don't find many pregnancy exercise instructor! i'm beginning my training with u today!
hello! Doctor Cathy: I am 13 weeks now, I can start this exercises as this early pregnancy??or I should wait for few more weeks? also the yoga I would like to do, is it safe for now??
Thank you so much for your videos! I am 11 weeks pregnant and have so far gained 20 pounds. This is my 4th pregnancy and just wanted to stay fit. Is it safe to loose weight while being pregnant? I was really active before getting pregnant but now I can't muster up the energy. THanks.
Without knowing your fitness & weight levels before pregnancy, I can't truly answer that question. For some women, it's okay to lose a little weight during pregnancy if they started off overweight. If you've already gained 20 pounds by week 11, I'd advise you to pay attention to the foods you're eating and the amount of exercise you're doing. It's better to spread out your weight gain over the entire pregnancy & not gain as much so soon.Don't starve yourself or diet, instead eat nutritious foods.
This is really great to get me started in my pregnancy! I'm 18 weeks pregnant and felt it was time to start doign something! This is a perfect way to begin! I have also mixed it with some of the Zumba youtube pregnancy videos, I found that really good fun if your not really into fitness like myself..Thanks a lot for the videos :D
@NXKDXR Glad you are working and taking care of yourself for your sake as well as your baby's sake. Stick with it and feel free to check out our web site "Educated Pregnancy" for more videos.
Hi Doctorcathy: I´m 18 weeks 5 days and I go to a gym 3 to 5 days a week. My trainer says that I can´t work my abs, what do you think? Is there any xcercise that I could do? thanks!
@SilBarreiroFal The best exercise you can do for you for abs is sustained contractions. Stand up nice and tall, pull in on your belly button and pull up on your pelvic floor. maintain this position for 30 - 45 seconds to tighten the abdominal muscles.
Thank you for nice programs. I'm 9 months pregnant in Japan. Recently I can't take a walk outside of the house because of the worry of the radioactivity, so this program is good exercise inside of the house. I will keep working out.
nice! This looks like a good way to get back into getting into shape. Used to walk 5 miles a day along with various other little excercises (abs/biceps/triceps/shoulders and squats). Im starting my 6month of pregnancy and i havent done a thing since the very beginning of this pregnancy. And its about time. Cant wait to try this out tonight.
@misule21 Glad you found us - congratuations on your pregnancy. Keep working out with me, I'll post more videos soon. Check out out facebook page at "Educated Pregnancy"

i have not been exercising very long and just found out that im 5 weeks pregnant and i dont want to stop exercising . have a history of obesity in my family and it sacres me i dont want to gain alot of weight. do you think i could work out with out hurting the baby
@Amandaminear Congratulations! Don't stop now - this is the most important time of your life and being healthy now will help you and your baby. Stick with me and I'll keep posting videos. Join our facebook page "Educated Pregnancy"
I am 20 years old and i am 18 weeks pregnant with twins. I am curious if i should take any extra procautions or if you're workout videos are safe for me to do. I have been working out for about a week doing you're easier videos but just wanted some re-assurance that it's okay. And, i have found that exercising regularly has made the workouts seems easier so should i step it up and try the more advanced videos?
@JACINDAisMyName Use common sense and stop if you experience any pain. You should be just fine to continue with me throughout your entire pregnancy...that's what these videos were designed for. You can try all of the videos, just keep your impact low - no big jumping as that baby starts expanding - mainly for comfort. Join our facebook page at "Educated Pregnancy"
LOVED THIS VIDEO! I'm 17 weeks, haven't gained any weight (yet) This really got me active! Thanks! Hoping to do some other vids but need to buy some weights. =)
Hi Doctor Cathy, I just found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant today and I've been working out regularly (quite high-impact) before I get pregnant. Do u have any suggestion how long and which exercise should I choose? Because I really want to stay active and fit during my pregnancy. But since I've had a miscarriage on my previous pregnancy, and now is my second pregnancy, so I need your suggestion about exercising on my 1st trimester. I'm 24 y.o now. Thank you so much, Doctor Cathy :)
@Lollilove13 Let's get you moving and keep you and baby healthy. You may want to tone it down a little as far as the high impact stuff goes as your belly grows. All of the videos on my channel should be helpful because you can modify as needed for your level of health.
Doctor Cathy, im 24 weeks and I wanted to know how often throughout the day should we do these exercises because I do at lease 4 of your videos once a day.
im 26 weeks now and ive been trying hard to put together some videos to give me a good routine, may i ask for any suggestions from you. from your videos..which ones to do each day or how many videos to follow each day.
thank you so much! you look so great in your videos
@tanginamogago05 Thank you. I like to start with the warm up or cardio abs video, then pick a weight video to do 2-3 times in a row, then finish up with either abs, yoga or stretch videos. I'll make another video for you that walks you through a good routine. Congratulations on your pregnancy. "Like" us on facebook at "Educated Pregnancy"
hello doctor cathy,im 27weeks pregnant and its my first time to see your videos...i already started doing these exercises and it felt good...i just want to ask if these exercises can help me through my delivery?how many times a day and how many hours should i exercise?are these exercises enough eventhough i dont have time to walk or jog everyday?thank you very much for uploading videos...god bless and take care
@ness0828 yes, these will help tremendously. Don't worry if you don't have a lot of time every day, but be sure to make some time every day to move your body. That's why I posted these videos...to give you something you could do every day.
im on my seccond baby and never exercised on my first i seen so many people have babies early it scared me and i went ten days late and i had a really painful birth, but now i know better so i'm exercising i watch this video everyday and do this when im not busy :)
@myapriss Glad you found me - check out our facebook page at Educated Pregnancy for tips, info and special offers for the launch of our new website Educated Pregnancy
@neshacornelius21 Thanks Nesha, hope you'll stick with me. I'vegot more videos coming soon so keep watching and please tell your friends to check me out as well.
@doctorcathy Yes, I will definetly stick with you!! I love these prego videos, matter of fact I had my 1st Lamaze class today and I brought up your video, stating that this is the video I use to exercise ; ) !!
@neshacornelius21 Wow - fantastic! Preparation is the key to a natural birth, glad to hear you've started classes already. Please join my facebook page at Educated Pregnancy and keep tellingothers...thank you!
I'm now 38+ weeks. I started doing your exercise when I was 34 weeks after being diagnosed with diabetes. It's really helpful, especially with the freezing wheather outside I can't go for a walk. Thank you.
well,i used to exercise allot before my pregnancy but when i got pregnant everybody frightened me by telling me i shouldnt do this and i shouldnt do that! So,you cant imagine how happy i was when i found your videos!!Now i've been following all of your videos with my man too!But i wanted to ask you if u could tell me a good daily program cause same say you shouldn't exercise more than 3 times a week!Is that true?I'm 24 years old and i'm at 22 weeks, and i feel great after exercising!
@1986kokos Not sure why anyone would say that...it's best to get some form of exercise everyday. At least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week for someone who is already healthy and fit and just wants to maintain their level of fitness. For moms-to-be, it's not too much to expect some activity every day. Warm up, cardio and weights, followed by a stretch or yoga 5 days a week and then go walking on days 6 and 7. That's my recommendation. Check back because I'll be adding more videos and a link soon.
hi, i am really excited 2do d workout you're showing. but IS IT REALY SAVE 4ALL PREGNANT WMN? i'm at my 24weeks, had habbit to put one of my leg up d table when drying my leg after shower until few months ago, everytime i put my leg up, the next day my lower abdoment will hurt so much that i really cudnt walk and cudnt sleep for the pain. Since then i'm really carefull w/ my legs position. I see some of your workout have these positions when you open your legs apart and i'm afraid to try....
@heavyrain0102 Disucss this with your midwife, but she will most likely encourage you to stretch. It's common for your muscles to feel tight and stretched right now, and that is probably what is causing your pain.
@YourLifeSizeBarbie That's a funny question...I gained 18 pounds, my son weighed 8 lbs, 8 oz and by the 5th day after he was born I only weighed 3 pounds more than I did before i was pregnant. No size info really because I wore most of my regular clothes.
This is great! Ive been looking for something safe to start now that Im at 32 weeks! This is effective and not strainous being that Ive started so late! Thanks!
I really like this warm up, i've been looking for something like this it's very practical and something i can do with my 3yr old son too, i love it!!!!!!!!
I'm not pregnat... but I love this video before my excercises! xD I find it perfect for me, and I do some others movements I already knew. :D love it Cathy!
WOW BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT I WAS DOING TAE-BO, BIGGEST LOSER, JILLIAN MICHAELS, AND RUNNING ALMOST EVERYDAY, THEN I GOT PREGNANT AND STOPPED BECAUSE I THOUGHT I COULDN'T WORK OUT, NOW I SEE THAT I CAN AND CAN'T EVEN GET PASS THE WARM UP LOL! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO'S!!!!
i always feel so stupid working out...especially big and round. Im 20 weeks and been having pains in my back/pelvic region. Not only that but i want to look good :D
Dont feel like that. do a good workout. Iam 14 weeks and im staring doing some legs exercises and trust me it feelssss goooddd. :) God Bless and congratulations.

I was wondering, I used to be really fit before getting pregnant (gym 4-5 times a week). However i havent done much for the past 32 weeks I've been pregnant.
Do you think I could go back and do exercises now at this stage?
Thank you so much and thank you also for posting your videos!

@gusxavieruk While it's best to begin exercising before you become pregnant and continue throughout your pregnancy, most women should be just fine resuming an exercise program late in their pregnancy if they have a history of exercising. Just take it easier than you did back before you were pregnant since you've gone for so long without working out.
Dear Dr.Cathy, I have a 10 months old baby & now I'm in my 7th pregnancy week. Right after delivering my son I could loose weight easily, I afterwards tried to get back to my before pregnancy weight, by eating healthy and practicing but it was impossible. I'm now on a healthy diet eating mostly vegetables, salad& meat to loose a bit of weight & practicing 2 hours a day, but I ONLY GAIN WEIGHT WHICH MAKES ME SAD! WHAT IS THIS? IN MY FIRST PREGNANCY &DURING THE FIRST 5 MONTHS I LOST WEIGHT..
@lolla7979 Every pregnancy is different. Remember that your body and your baby need a lot from you right now. Keep eating healthy and exercising. Your midwife can tell you if your weight is a problem or if it's on track
@xZombieChick69x About 39 weeks in this video and thankfully no stretch marks with either pregnancy...lots of water, cocoa butter, good food and reasonable weight gain.
This is exactly the type of video I have been looking for, looks like a great video! I am 28 weeks pregnant, and haven't done much exercising yet, just a little bit of yoga that I started recently. I think I'll have to start pretty slow with this video though, looks like it will get me out of breath really easily!
wow! like this exercise..i actually do this once a day.i'm on my 26th weeks now..is it safe to do it everyday though i feel some heaviness on my genitals..evrytime i lift my right or left foot i feel like my genitals gonna drop..is it normal?during my last check up my baby's n transverse lie position...
@TheMeciruth Most likely that's normal, but just check with your midwife to be sure. This warm-up is safe enough to do everyday up till baby is born. It's also a great workout to start back exercising with 6 weeks after baby is born as well.
Thanks a lot for the videos, they are really didactic. I was not doing much of exercising till now. I am in my 23th week of pregnancy and I started having some pelvic pain when sleeping. I've been suggested to exercise more to strength my pelvis. I'll do so with your videos, hope it helps.
So this is my husbands screen name but i have a question for you Dr. What do i do to get my stamina back up bc i have been doing your work out videos and i am 5 mo. along and it sometimes is real hard for me to get past the fourth video..
@TJGlasco Are you trying to do all of the videos in a row every day? That's not necessary. Start with the warm up or cardio abs video, then choose one of the weight videos and perform that rotuine 2 or 3 times in a row. Then finish up with the yoga or stretch. If that's too much, cut out one of the weight routines until you feel up to it.
ths exercise felt great.. i really never ever exercise but im having my frist child and i want to at least start to make my body heathier then it is right now i did the whole work out and yes my legs started to hurt but ino if i stopped i wouldnt do it agan..but at the end of the work out it felt great i felf releaved so thank you ill be doing tis work out 2 times a day... it kees me entertained :)
thank u for these videos. they are really helpful.. i'm 19 weeks with my first, when i felt tired i just stopped for a min, then i continued.. hopefully i can continue doing this till the end of my pregnancy :)
Thank you for the videos. I'm sad to say I must be EXTREMELY out of shape- even for being pregnant. My thighs were burning by the 2:53 point, and I had to stop. I did not exercise with my 1st baby or this time. I wish I had.
@sonyxxmunions Try it again and plan on making it until at least 3:30. Then each day, try again and plan on adding 30 seconds. I believe you can do that, and in no time, you'll be able to complete the entire video. Give it a shot - it's so important for your health and your baby's health!
I just want to say thank you for posting your video's, I recommended this to a friend of mine who has just delivered and she was very happy with the videos!
oh forgot to ask, do you recomend any specific exercise for people with lower back pains (from the tip of tail bone and the spine area where it meets the pelvis). IM 32wks and my Doc sz baby is fine that is only me having problems but that back pains are comon. i recently stopped workin for the same reason, my work consisted on to much physical work cleanin rooms in a hotel.
@FerchoyMayis I suggest that you go see a Chiropractor right away to have your spine checked for misalignments - that would be the most likely cause of your lower back pain. Spinal misalignments during rpegnancy are very common due to the growing belly's pull on your posture, but are easily corrected under chiropractic care. There are many stretches that may help, but first you must discover the cause of the pain and have that corrected.
Dr. Cathy, I have recentley found you on youtube and what a blessing! I have been working out steady for the last 2 yrs and am now pregnant. I wasn't able to workout as much through my first trimester. I have been searching for a good workout video while pregnant & I am happy to say your video's are a godsend. Thank YOU!!!
Hi dr. Cathy... i'm here again.. Im 28weeks now.. and my glucose coming little bit high..What do you think best for me?? im so worried again.. how many months left and soon it coming out. But it doesn't mean that i have diabetes.. Please help me. Thank you and more power
Watch what you are eating, drink plenty of water and exercise every day - that is the best advice I can give you. Get your blood checked regularly to be sure you are not posing a risk to baby, but be sure to limit your stress - so NO WORRYING!
Hello Dr. Cathy, just wanted to say thank you so much for your precious video and I will keep looking all your videos. but one question for you. now i am at only 15weeks, so can I start doing your exercises? if not when would be the best week for me to start working out? Thanks for your advice.

Hello Dr. Cathy,
Thank you so much for your videos! I am 11 weeks pregnant and have so far gained 20 pounds. This is my 4th pregnancy and just wanted to stay fit. Is it safe to loose weight while being pregnant? I was really active before getting pregnant but now I can't muster up the energy. THanks.
Divasoul33 8 months ago

Hi Doctorcathy: I´m 18 weeks 5 days and I go to a gym 3 to 5 days a week. My trainer says that I can´t work my abs, what do you think? Is there any xcercise that I could do? thanks!
SilBarreiroFal 9 months ago
@SilBarreiroFal The best exercise you can do for you for abs is sustained contractions. Stand up nice and tall, pull in on your belly button and pull up on your pelvic floor. maintain this position for 30 - 45 seconds to tighten the abdominal muscles.

JACINDAisMyName 10 months ago
@JACINDAisMyName Use common sense and stop if you experience any pain. You should be just fine to continue with me throughout your entire pregnancy...that's what these videos were designed for.
Lollilove13 11 months ago
@Lollilove13 Let's get you moving and keep you and baby healthy. You may want to tone it down a little as far as the high impact stuff goes as your belly grows. All of the videos on my channel should be helpful because you can modify as needed for your level of health.

1986kokos 1 year ago

I see some of your workout have these positions when you open your legs apart and i'm afraid to try....
heavyrain0102 1 year ago
@heavyrain0102 Disucss this with your midwife, but she will most likely encourage you to stretch. It's common for your muscles to feel tight and stretched right now, and that is probably what is causing your pain.

IN MY FIRST PREGNANCY &DURING THE FIRST 5 MONTHS I LOST WEIGHT..
lolla7979 1 year ago
@lolla7979 Every pregnancy is different. Remember that your body and your baby need a lot from you right now. Keep eating healthy and exercising. Your midwife can tell you if your weight is a problem or if it's on track

oh forgot to ask, do you recomend any specific exercise for people with lower back pains (from the tip of tail bone and the spine area where it meets the pelvis). IM 32wks and my Doc sz baby is fine that is only me having problems but that back pains are comon. i recently stopped workin for the same reason, my work consisted on to much physical work cleanin rooms in a hotel.
FerchoyMayis 1 year ago
@FerchoyMayis I suggest that you go see a Chiropractor right away to have your spine checked for misalignments - that would be the most likely cause of your lower back pain. Spinal misalignments during rpegnancy are very common due to the growing belly's pull on your posture, but are easily corrected under chiropractic care. There are many stretches that may help, but first you must discover the cause of the pain and have that corrected.
