  • Metal Gearghghgh!

  • "Jo, ich weiß alles darüber. Cooles Ding, was?"

    Lässige Übersetzer...

  • Epic theme starts at 4:00

  • that's what ive been saying! Remake MG1 &2 on PS3, it would be so damn epic, or it could be! Fill in the story a little bit, shorten the cutscenes compared to MGS4, have Big Boss mentor Snake, all that shit xD

  • GOD PEOPLE ACTUALLY PLAYED THIS STUFF THANK GOD FOR PLAYSTATION

  • @elixa4

    So?

    Had to start somewhere

  • everyone keeps saying they need a remake of the msx versions why not tell it to Kojima. I am pretty sure if all of his fans overload him with correspondence of some sort maybe it will inspire him to do it. Kojima is a genius and if he wants a steady pay check he better do it for his fans.... damn him

  • remake please! i want an epic fist fight with gray fox on a minefield!!

  • Interesting that just several fragmentation grenades are capable of destroying the legs of Metal Gear D.

  • What the fuck is wrong with you guys?! WE ARE ALL PROUD FANS OF THE METAL GEAR SERIES! WHETHER IT BE SOLID OR JUST PLAIN METAL GEAR, HELL ITS NAME COULD BE METAL GEAR DICK AND I WOULD STAND TO SALUTE IT! We should be defending our honor against the douche-bags who say Splinter Cell is better, Dont get me wrong, its good, but the story sucks and its replay value is low. Its fun the first time around. METAL GEAR/SOLID/DICK FOR THE WORLD!

  • @LaJamesWoods i salute to your nice comment

  • Man I have Subsestance and Im playing the 1st game, I need to find the bomb blast suit. I cannot find the damn thing

  • You're looking at the best game in the series, right here.

  • whats the name of the song when gray fox gives snake the title of fox

  • why does it have better graphics and faces than the msx version?

    what version is this?

  • @meromann77

As far as I know this is the msx version (metal gear 2 - solid snake)

  • This game was great to play on from the mgs 3 substance disc.

  • METAL GEAR FOREVER EVERY WHERE!!!

  • who wants a new game with ninja raiden as the main character. hell if my character is gonna be a ninja it better be grayfox.

  • :P

4:10 No wonder Snake Beat Gray Fox. All fox did was run around in stupid circles...

    ):| I am dissapoint.... |:C

  • loooooool

    lebens

reminds me of mein leben :D

  • I want a remake of this instead of some stupid Ninja Raiden (aka MGS Rising)

  • they have to make this in ps3,with a young solid snake full of life and energy with a lot of cool moves, figths, and gun figths,we play the middle and the old age solid snake, we deserve to play the ultimate soldier in his very beggining, as a rookie, WE DESERVE IT!!!!! YOU HEAR ME HIDEO, WE DESERVE IT!!! SNAAAAAAKEEE!!!!

  • jajajajajaja youre right man

of course hideo will hear yor words

    lol

  • But Hideo will go NANANANANANANANANANA afterwards.

  • @axgo21

    NO, NO FUCKING REMAKES.

Leave them the fuck alone, they are fine as they are.

  • @snake2006 How is this fine the way it is? I agree MGS1 didn't need to be remade but that was because there wasn't much to add to it.. This has no VA, no proper music and not even a third dimension. Considering how important these events were and there is a massive plothole that needs filling (the whole "I am your father" conversation they pulled out of nowhere in MGS)

These 2 games are a gigantic dip in the series in so many ways and don't even make much sense anymore. They need to be remade.

  • @darthkahn45

    No it doesn't.

Who gives a shit that it doesn't have Big Boss going " No, I am your father".

WHO THE FUCK CARES? It's not a plot hole.

We know it happens. There you go.

Did we see Anankin in Star Wars knock up Padme? No, because it's not that fucking important.

They make perfect sense. Snake goes to Outer Heaven,Destroys Metal Gear TX-55, and then later Zanzibar Land, destroys Metal Gear D,"kills" Big Boss, goes to Alaska which leads to MGS.

    No problems here at all

    NO REMAKE

  • @snake2006 It' would be better than dumb Gray Fox clone version of Raiden staring in a stupid sequel that adds nothing to the series. What pisses me off is that MGS1 was remade and the reason that sucked was because there was nothing to improve and it was already as deep and emotional as it would ever be. And now they are remaking 3!? if you MUST remake a metal gear game remake the one that was made over 20 years ago and has NO emotion or depth now compared to the others.

  • @darthkahn45

Do depth and emotion. You need voice for that now? How sad.

Metal Gear 2 has plenty of depth and emotion to it.

There is nothing wrong with it.

Metal Gear there wasn't much depth to it but it's still fine as it is.

Your about as bad as Hollywood, you want everything remade even though the originals are fine.

Metal Gear Rising will add something to the series, it is going to explain what happened to raiden from MGS2 to MGS4 and will show them getting Big Boss's body.

  • @snake2006 The MGS database told it already Area 51>find Sunny>look for Big Boss>get caught>become Gray Fox>the end.

Your missing the point this has nothing to do with being a modern technology whore. You can tell in this one especially that Kojima wanted it to create an immersive movie-like experience that made MGS so famous. But obviously didn't get what he wanted out of both because they couldn't create something like that back then. They deserve to be realised what they were meant to be.

  • @darthkahn45

They work just fine as they are now.

I know it's in the database but then that database is full of errors and hasn't been updated with the new Peacewalker info.

Just like they Hollywood. Did Halloween need a remake to make it more modern? Or Dawn of the Dead? Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Friday the 13th?

    No on all cases.

Why is this different? It's not. They function as they are, so yes I do oppose remakes because they disrespect the originals.

  • @snake2006 How about MG1 needs to be updated with the MGS1, 2, PO, PW and 4 info. Which are ALL connected to the events of these originals in one way or another. Anything that is added to the existing Raiden story has nothing to do with anything, no point.

Twin Snakes didn't make MGS1 disappear, MGS1 didn't go anywhere and it didn't lose any of the status it always had. I still play MGS1 all the time but I don't hate Nintendo for at least giving a remake a go. Nothing was disrespected.

  • @darthkahn45

    Again WHY?

We know the events and how they tie into MG1's Outer Heaven incident.

It's not needed. I would rather see new games than remakes.

  • @snake2006

Everything Snake tells Naomi about his relationship with Grey Fox doesn't exist in MG1. You just walk into a room, he calls you a rookie and tells you about Madnar and thats about it, that doesn't fit with MGS. As Snakes best friend, biggest rival and Big Boss' loyal right hand man I would rather see properly the relationship he built with Snake. Than the pointless add on story of some Cyborg trying to be cool. Remaking them would benefit the series a hell of a lot more than Rising.

  • @darthkahn45

And you have to see it on screen to make it fit. Give me a break now.

How does it not fit with MGS? So they don't show his friendship and rivalry with Grey Fox. Big whoop.

They didn't show the Boss training Naked Snake. They talked about it, so since they didn't show it, can't be true. Doesn't fit.

Or how about Ocelot's mother being the boss, they never show her giving birth to Ocelot, yep doesn't fit because its not on screen.

Come up with something better than this. No remake.

  • @snake2006 But they aren't, they are doing the very thing you dispise to a much more recent game in the series for the 3DS. Whether you like it or not MGS3DS is in the works and I just wonder why he is going out of his way to avoid going back to the only ones that actually can be upgraded significantly. If Kojima had some kind of massive issue about remakes I would get over it and understand but a yet another remake is on the way .If he feels the need, these should be the obvious ones to choose.

  • @darthkahn45

It's just going to be a port of the PS2 game. They aren't remaking it. They are just making it 3-D. So then there will be a 2D version and a 3D version.

It's still going to be the same.

  • @snake2006 So you are ok with a game from only a few years ago being remade for 1 stupid reason but the idea of remaking a game using technology from over 20 years ago for several obvious reasons is a terrible idea?

    contradiction much?

And its not a port they are going to redo the engine and redo the cutscenes. There is a picture if Snake crouching behind a tree in exactly the same position as he does in Peace Walker. So it's probably going to use something similar.

  • @darthkahn45

From the video I saw from E3 it just looks to be a straight up port.

I doubt they will redo the engine since Peace Walker uses the MGS2 and 3 Engine.

All they are doing is making the game 3D that is the only difference.

  • @snake2006 Exactly why go to the trouble of bringing out a game again for 1 stupid reason. Thats a bad reason to go back to a game if all you are going to do is tweak it ever so slightly.Subsistance is not being sold anymore (at least not here) so these old games will easily fall under the radar again. Only extremely hardcore MGS fans would bother hunting down these games as the story in especially the first one is ridiculously weak and the experience in both is nothing close to the others

  • @darthkahn45

The reason is quite simple, so they can call MGS 3D.

Gee not hard to figure out. Use your head for once.

  • @snake2006

MGS3 is fine as it is because it's already 3D and this is still 2D. You do the math.

  • @darthkahn45

I mean using 3D effects. God you won't give up.

It's not going to fucking happen, stop being a fucking baby, suck it up, and let it go.

  • @snake2006

    hmm...no

because your totally contradicting yourself. You see these ancient games that are laughable compared the the others in the series as "fine as they are" but you are defending the same people bringing out 3 again just because they felt like taking advantage of some stupid 3D effect. Yet they are still ignoring these which need updating is so many ways. IDK why your even defending them, you don't live in Japan chances are you didn't even know this existed until youtube.

  • @darthkahn45

    1) I am not in Japan.

    2) I grew up on Metal Gear I have heard of the series long before MGS in 1998.

I grew up on the NES version which I liked, then later discovered about the original MSX versions thanks to MGS manual, that was about MG2 Solid Snake. I later tracked them down via something called EBAY. Gasp.

I have been a Metal Gear fan since it's NES release in 1988 so don't come saying I only started playing MG when MGS came out.

  • @snake2006

    3) I haven't been defending MGS 3 for 3DS. I DON'T CARE. I have no intentions on getting it because I HAVE ALREADY PLAYED MGS3. i don't need to again. I own the PS2 version both of them.

    4) The original Metal Gear games ARE FINE AS THEY ARE. I defend them because I don't like remakes. Doesn't matter if they are songs, movies or video games. It disrespected the originals but saying they weren't good enough to stand the test of time that they have to be remade. It's crap.

  • @snake2006 But they didn't stand the test of time did they? the NES version became non canon so people forgot about taking that seriously and hardly anybody even cares about these MSX ones anymore because they are so obscure and don't give the player anything close to what MGS1-4 offers. After the MSX versions Kojima turned MG into something much more impressive and you can tell from MG2 that this is always what he wanted the series to become. There is very little there to ruin by remaking them.

  • @darthkahn45

MG for the NES is cannon for the most part since it didn't change that much. It made it a horrible port and added some stupid jungle crap and took away Metal Gear and lost the underwater entry.

MG2 stands on it's own 2 feet quite easily. If you can't see that then you are hopeless. But then I already gave up on you a long time ago.

There is plenty of Story in MG2 and allot of MG2's elements ARE IN MGS, GASP.

  • @snake2006 It can't have been that good because Snake rambles on about stuff that never happened. Usually when a character reminisces about past events in a series you should be able to go back and see it happen. So it must have been a slap in the face when people finally went back to MG1&2 and realise that a lot of the stuff Snake talks about never happened. Fox hardly says 2 words to Snake, doesn't teach him a thing and Big Boss says nothing about being his father. Why? Becuse its outdated.

  • @darthkahn45

Again, I reference to MGS3 where is says Naked Snake trained with the boss. Did we see that happen? NO.

What about the about the birth of Ocelot? No, once again it is mentioned but not seen.

You don't need to see it.

I am done arguing this same fact again and again. It's not going to happen, I will continue to oppose a remake since they aren't needed. Deal with it.

  • @snake2006 Those events are nowhere near as significant as this is. This is the centre of the entire story where the two main characters who we have played as over the past 6 games meet. The whole saga revolves around these. I think thats a little more important that watching The Boss and Snake doing CQC on eachother or watching Ocelot being born

And I would prepare yourself for it Kojima clearly doesn't have the same views as you considering remakes otherwise Twin Snakes wouldn't exist.

  • @darthkahn45 might be late but one: darth is right. 2:snake2006 its stupid to reject the remakes because remakes would make MORE sense and can they can put what is needed to make this part of the story make sense

  • @Hollowichigo13 It should definitely be higher on the priority list than telling the story of Raiden pre/post MGS4. Blatantly nothing to do with the story and will be nothing but a pointless concealed whoring of ninja Raiden from beginning to end. That is going to be an MGS game like Resident Evil 5 was a survival horror game.

  • @darthkahn45 yup so right x.x besides i would love to go on head-to-head with the almighty Big Boss XD

  • Comment removed

  • @johnhassink You can tell by the way this game was made that it was trying to be that which made MGS1 so famous. If Kojima had the technology at his disposal he would have made it as cinematic as MGS1, Kojima had a vision for what he wanted this game to be but ultimately it couldn't be done because what he wanted wasn't possible yet, well now it is.

The voice acting, the music, the cinematic cutscenes are all what have made the series, and are what make it so immersive, emotional and deep.

  • @johnhassink So I don't exactly know what it was you were trying to prove or accuse me of there. I am not stictly for or against remakes (twin snakes was totally pointles) but in this particular case not only is it ridiculously dated by todays standards. Those things are massivly amplified by the fact that what is missing is not the basic formula for what makes the series so successful and beloved by so many people.

  • @darthkahn45

Well, first off, even as I did grow up with the original versions you see here, I'm not opposed to a possible remake for modern systems at all. You are right, it's dated, but I do think it has aged quite well, considering the limitations of the system. Though it may be partially nostalgic influences, too. :P

  • @darthkahn45

Because I was actually compelled by the storyline back then, it struck me that you appeared to *need* things as voice acting, cutscenes etc. to be sucked into the gameplay and what the story is trying to say. So for me, it's the other way around. I only played MGS2 until now (only recently own a PS2) but I really enjoyed the similarities in gameplay, which to me is very much like the 'original' MSX2 versions.

So it's not the suggestion of a remake I was going anal about...

  • @darthkahn45

...it was your initial post (before I read your other posts) that made me react that way - it was the apparent "putting it down" part ("What? No 3D? No proper music? A big dip!")

I was under the impression that you didn't appreciate the fine piece of work this game was back then, and how it pushed the envelope in many ways by the hardware standards of that time. Reading your later posts made me understand properly what you were talking about and that's also why I did delete my post

  • @darthkahn45

So, basically, having started appreciating the Metal Gear series long ago, *without* all those 3D, VA, etc. things, playing MGS2 only much later did ofcourse add up to the experience for me, but I find that the gameplay itself is the most important part. I didn't really care that much for epic, lengthy conversations, voice acting and such.

So, that's what I meant. But I did misunderstand what you actually meant, so I was wrong on that. Greetings!

  • @axgo21 yes we do, first we got stuck with raiden, then with an old man, i mean WTF seriously man

  • @axgo21 there making metal gear collection hopefully with this

  • is there a rom for THIS version of metal gear 2? not the original, i want a rom for the one released on ps2

  • ok, that´s where snake "killed/crippled" gray fox.

Hideo has to re-made the old pieces of MGS. He HAS to!

and not Kasler, it´s KASSLER! mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelbrei....B*tches!

  • holy crap....

Remember that Scene in MGS1 where Solid runs into the Bossfight with Vulcan Raven on that snowy Field? Right befor that, Gray Fox/Deepthroat calls him via Codec and told him to watch out for the claymores.

Snake ask´s "Who are you?" and he said "One of your Fans."

That "One of your Fans"-Thing started in this Game?!

  • Snake and Gray Fox look different than the emulator version of this game (the one i have aka the original) was there different versions of it, where the characters look different? Snake looks like Ghost Babel Snake in this

  • No, he doesn't.

  • the picture of him during a long talk like in 1:26

  • Oh, wait! This is the 2006 re-hashed version. In the original MSX2 version, Solid Snake's face doesn't look like this.

  • so wut ur saying this is the emulated version thats in MGS3 Substance?

  • 'M.G.S 3: SUBSISTENCE', you mean. Yeah, that's the one.

  • i never spell it right

  • thats because its the PS2 version of the game

  • yeah i forgot about the MGS3 Substinence version

  • yup but i run the PS2 version on my laptop because i dont own a PS2 anymore

  • i have a PS2 but my dad "accidentally" broke it when he was trying to fix it.

  • but i have a PS3 now =) and i bought a 3 pack for 20$ it comes with MGS1 MGS2S and MGS3
