Haha how cool this is my song. lol A spaceman like me really digs this. :)) The melody is really beautiful very dreamy and cool,I really got into it Ron my bro.. Made me smile to hear such wonderful music. :)) I love your guitar playing beautifully done fantastic vocals too. The melody line wow just awesome! I'm faving this to let you know. :) That's what I gotta keep doing, coming down to Earth from Neptune to hear all this awesome music. :)) One of my faves of yours.
Hello Ron! Very beautiful song! You aren`t only good musician but very good lyricist too. I really appreciate what you do. And it seems that you have a big collection of guitars and other instruments. Where have you acguired all those instruments?
@LastKingdomX Hello and thank you. I have some instruments that I have picked up over the years here and there. None of them are very expensive, but good instruments. Thanks again. -Ron
I absolutely love this song. I love your choice of words and your chords, it has a very mystical feel, and makes the song in general very attractive to the ear. "We all know wheels, ships, and wings Aren't the only things that can take you away." ....I'm in awe. 5/5
I really enjoyed this song. I thought the concept for it was interesting. I liked the lyrics and thought your also did a good job performing it. Very nice. Looking forward to more. Take care.
Hello Brian. Thanks, and it is not really a religious theme here, but I can see how it can be taken that way. This song is really more about obsessive behaviors that can "take you away". Thanks a lot. -Ron
Good to see a new one from you, Ron. The strumming adds a good vibe and works well with your phrasing. And the theme has orbital imagery spinning in my head...I'm diggin' it.
Thanks Josef. This one has been around for a while, and I just now was able to finish it off. I think a 12-string would sound great in your hands, with you playing style. I'm just saying :o)
The words just shimmer and set the mind wondering to whom they could apply - an egotistical person, drug user, "beureaucratic death panels" (just learned that phrase from Scott Cadwallader's latest post). As for the music, it has really nice changes ringing through it, particularly in the two bridges. It may make a nice Baroque-pop song, given the full and right treatment.
I'm enjoying the balance between this and your more traditional sounding work very much. Pete.
Thanks Pete. Yea, this song can apply to all of the above. It is actually about what have seen a few of my friends go through in the past few years. Each had a different "obsession" but the results were same on their friends and family. Thanks Pete, and I will be over to you channel again soon for more your stuff. -Ron
Thank you very much Michael. The 12-string is one I bought about a year ago. I have used on one other YT song, a cover of one of Duncan's, but I have not used it again until now. It is a cheap Epiphone but it sounds pretty good when you strum it. Thanks again. -Ron
A really cool, allegorical song. 'Love the chiming guitar. 'Thoughtful lyric which many of us can readily identify with and that 'unclassifiable' rhopen sound. It's like a breath of fresh air :] 5*****
Thanks very much, Stu. It is very allegorical, yes. I find that is one of the best ways to write when you are trying to make a statement about something serious, but want to be as artful as you can about it as well. Thanks again as always. -Ron
Hi Boucrate, and thanks. Yes, I think everyone is at risk to get obsessive about things sometimes, and it can reek havoc on the people around you if you are not careful. This is just a little cautionary tale, for myself as anyone else. -Ron
hi ron. this is a very successful song. it is not only an original concept message, containing hope as well as mystery, but it is also commercial enough for high standard radio play. i very much like the tone of your twelve string. which model is it please? these are very well thought out lyrics and i'm certain some listeners will return to this one from time to time. five and favorites. chuck.
Thanks very much Chuck. The 12-string is an Epiphone I bought about a year ago. It sounds pretty good if you strum it, but it is not so good for picking because the action is set very low on it. I prefer the way yours sounds, but then this Epiphone is just not in that class of guitar. Talk to you later. -Ron
Ron... I listenend to your new song several times but still I am a bit speechless. Your lyrics are so impressive and the melody and the chords... what a great song.
Hi Anette. Thank you. I went from the 3-string Strumstick on my last song to the 12-string guitar on this one... as Homer Simpson would say, "doe!" :o) Greetings to you from USA.
Yeah our summer starts soon, starting spring at the moment =] I'm hoping to get another song up soon, either just before exams or after they finish, I'm not sure how it will pan out.
Hi Ron :) I agree with Nancy - this is an interesting song....personally, I like to come down to earth as little as possible..lol....the view is better floating above things a little :)....
You are kind to give me an excuse, but sadly, the mind is going. :( I think I have done it to most all of my friends by now. Very sorry Ron!!! Between typos and "intellectual pauses" I am a mess. Anyway, I got to hear your great song again and leave another comment! ;)
