I have a CBX as well, nothing sweeter than the music this engine makes. The original subdued Sankei pipes sound exactly like a Porsche 911.

The CBX and the Benelli, and the Kawasaki Z 1300 were technical

marvels!

all three were Incredible to ride to listen to and to look at,

I was on an 80

CBX 0nce,

and we were out on the hiway doing about 75, or 80,

I was in short's on the back with a full face helmet, but it was still nice but the bike was trying to push me off the back of seat with all it's torque,

we got back and i asked him how fast we were going and he Said about 105,

I know God had his hand on me, that

I mean 105 with you on it,

but that speed with a person on the back IS TOTALLY STUPID,

I had 2 CBX's a silver 79 & a black 80

the silver had 105hp the black 95, but the black was rarer. Both are now back in Japan.

Great music!

I've ridden many because I once worked in a Honda shop but never owned one. I loved my Interceptor, but the mystic of the CBX is still fascinating. Now I'm looking for one, either an early model with the hot cam or a touring model.

Honda advise not to operate in the red for any length of time. So once you approach the 9,500 red line, a quick slip of the clutch to get the other side of 10,500 then its ok yea?
