The camera crew should have NEVER used the language they did & shouldn't have made the punching gesture. I hope their employers educate them in a better way 2 handle similar situations.

As Pro-Police I am, the officers were wrong. If he was violating the law, what crime was he committing? Loitering? If so, then every single person standing on the public sidewalk was loitering too. There are some officers who abuse their positions, it's like that in every profession, but there are those like the news producer who should not have made such a big deal out of this, since it was for good, and acted like a man, not a pansy and complained.
To the news producer with an ego the size of Hungrr's head, he wasn't doing anything illegal. A public sidewalk is just that. When the news reports outside of their studio and on public property, it is fair game for anyone to stand in the shot, wave, etc. They didn't like the fact that this Hungrr person was in costume and a distraction for them. It is clear the news producer thinks he is a director filming a movie, when he isn't. I would have said "Call the Police, I'm within my rights".

Laws are touchy, it can or can't be loitering it really depends on how you look at the situation and who the judge is. Regardless this just shows how stupid news media is. Instead of showing something positive someone is trying to do they just capitalize on something every other media network was broadcasting that same day... and end up looking like jerks.

I would have been normal, and asked nicely.

As Pro-Police I am, the officers were wrong. If he was violating the law, what crime was he committing? Loitering? If so, then every single person standing on the public sidewalk was loitering too. There are some officers who abuse their positions, it's like that in every profession, but there are those like the news producer who should not have made such a big deal out of this, since it was for good, and acted like a man, not a pansy and complained.

To the news producer with an ego the size of Hungrr's head, he wasn't doing anything illegal. A public sidewalk is just that. When the news reports outside of their studio and on public property, it is fair game for anyone to stand in the shot, wave, etc. They didn't like the fact that this Hungrr person was in costume and a distraction for them. It is clear the news producer thinks he is a director filming a movie, when he isn't. I would have said "Call the Police, I'm within my rights".
