  • But are all of cocksuckings?! In this video we see a dying young Formula 1 driver and you do your idiotic speeches that have nothing to do nothing! Poor Riccardo Paletti, must be turning in his grave reading your crap. Shame!

  • Comment removed

  • we are commmenting on the video if you read the entire thread, there are some real boneheads on here who just want to talk rubbish and sometimes they need to be put right

  • This was a terrible accident at the start of the 1982 Canadian Grand Prix. Paletti crashed into the back of pole man Didier Pironi's Ferrari on the starting grid. Paletti was crushed by the cars steering column. He was not burned at all by this accident but died later in hospital from terrible chest injuries. RIP Riccardo Paletti 1958-1982

  • Oh god. Thats horrific. He sitting there motionless then the camera man steps back and he is on fire in the car. thats horrible. R.I.P Paletti.

  • Busseto, get yourself a girlfriend and start doing something usefull with your life...

  • JartBansen don't worry for me, 'cos I can assure you I don't have as that desperate need of a woman as you instead look to have

since I got married years ago .......

Worry for YOURSELF and start on doing something useful with YOUR OWN life by not posting so pathetic & childish comments .

Grow up child brain , you overpassed

    your 40s ......

  • whatever....

  • You can't really compare the Paletti and Petersen crashes. Paletti was very badly trapped in his crushed Osella, as this footage shows all too clearly, and it took a long time to physically cut him free.

Peterson's crash was different, he was freed from the car in minutes but the medics focused their attentions on Brambilla, who had a seemingly serious head injury. It was complications from the operation that killed him, I'm not sure what else they could have done at the trackside.

  • 30 mins to take the poor Riccardo Paletti out of the car and it happened on the start line : typical canadian incompetence and unbelievable pathetic disorganization !!

That would have never happened in Monza Imola or Silverstone .

In another video we can see the stupid pussy marshalls getting scared and Pironi who shouts at them

spurring to take the flames away from Paletti .

Canada's unbelievable and pathetic incompetence and disorganization.

They only must be ashamed and shut up .

  • first of all your grammar is not very good and it is little difficult to understand your rant! I am not represtenting any country but your a total hypocrite critising North America and completely blind to porblems in Italy which has good food but very bad reputation for efficiency and business and many people talk about lack of organisation, failing in economy etc! I don't need wikipedia to tell me anything read the EU statistics about Italy!

  • You also , just like majority of the ridiculous anglosaxon child brains , start on talking of English language when you can't find better arguments .

Sorry for YOUR pathetic child attitude, but there's nothing wrong with my English grammar

since I graduated at OSU ( US college ) nearly 20 years ago and I shared comments with many English people who perfectly get what I say .

Italy is a young nation and naturally Italy's people have some faults , nobody's perfect ,

  • but as for F1, motorsport and related matters

I suggest YOU to read and learn the TRUE history & facts, and not the totally false, uncorrect, bizarre bs invented by some retarded spoken English child brains in wikipedia or whatever rubbished media.

Not my fault if your comments are full of false news & ridiculous nonsenses : differently from Montreal, in Monza 1978 the rescue was prompt and it took more than 10 mins to take Peterson out of the car .

Get informed instead of inventing funny bs .

  • So there was no delay at all, and there was no crowd on the track .

There's no need to say more : you may post whatever childish lie or bs you like more, they will not change true facts .

All I can say is that the facilities in Monza has always been and still are among the 3/4 best of the world and , 'cos of the long term experience and amazing competence, its marshalls and teams can teach almost every country F1 and byke matters .

  • "the facilities in Monza have always been ..." correction in my below comment .

YOU need to read & learn everything you can find to get some knowledge of F1 and motorsport, my country along with Great Britain HISTORICALLY is the home of cars & bykes racings, so of course we won't take any lesson by pathetic and ridiculous canadian brains who before Villeneuve had never watched to a F1 race and now pretend to make bizarre & retarded judgements over a leading motorsport country

    like Italy !

  • Your hilarious! some things you learn about English in a text book can never relate to the reality of being a native speaker. The sentence is perfectly correct "i suggest (to) you read professor Sid Watkin's book" If i put "to" after "suggest" then it would not make sense, that is why it is quite difficult to understand you sentences sometimes because you are not a native and you go by the text book. You need to come to England and see the way it is spoken!

  • i suggest you fuck off, i suggest you learn to realise that the rules in english language are strange and are not uniform, i suggest you realise your wrong on this occasion and learn that the prepostion TO is not needed. the language has evolved to be more efficient, like the Spanish omit the Pronouns before verbs so "yo tengo" becomes tengo.

  • you mention it took 10 mins to remove Peterson! Remove him from what exactly? The front of the Lotus was gone, James Hunt dragged him away! I am not from North America, stop telling me things you believe about North America, my orginal point is that should not criticise any other country. You think that because Italy has a long history of motorsport it makes you more informed about motor racing? You need to relax a little, your facts about the Paletti accident are just as biased!

  • As for your usual false & retarded idiotic clichès, I don't know what northamerican people say about Italy, but I do know what we think about the so bad reputation of the northamerican countries in business ( all the US scandals, Enron and Bush internal affairs,American banks bankrupcy and dirty affairs in every country the are )

and THEIR lacks in organizing a decent event : f.i. every world sport event US or Canada have organized they made an unbelievable mess ( all the F1 racings,

  • the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, that were simply crappy and ridiculous as for bad organization

and overall falls , among the worst ever,

the 1994 world cup, all the mess on last year

under20 football world cup by the canadian authorities and police.

All bad things that have never happened when a world event has been kept in Italy, 'cos there it was just the opposite : perfect organization, good competence & high know-how of the matter .

  • Again I suggest you to get informed about the truth, the real one and not the pathetic imaginary dreamed northamerican one.

You'd better stick to YOUR country's hard lacks and overall ignorance . Here in Italy people know Canada as a country having lots of natural resource and 3 more things : ice ,

ice and ice , but nothing else out of those things .

So I don't think northamerican people have enough knowledges , competence & proper mental attitude to make any judgement.

  • italians - god's little cheats

  • @primussucks

    sei una grande merda

  • Ps : scoregoals I suggest you to check in any medecine's book or even to ask your doctor what are the risks when they operate a broken leg with so many multiple fractured bones to stabilize them as for Peterson .

I also suggest you to improve your elementary English grammar : the verb suggest

is followed by to + inf. , and not without prep. to like you wrote in your comment " I suggest you read the book of idiot prof ....." .

  • In addition of English I know my native language ELEMENTARY grammar, which is not for you ...:) XD !!

And I'm not so ignorant, pathetic, stupid and retarded to pretend to give lessons of language when I can't even speak my native one like you do !! DDD

    Congratulations on your amazing impression

Typical northamerican ignorant idiots and child brains ....!

  • Wow! What a prick

  • jeez you're a proper little nobhead aren't you? if you want to discuss semantics then go elsewhere. if you need to know what semantics means, check a book ;)

  • How ironic you returned to make a comment today! I thought our relationship was over Busseto but i was wrong. I was watching some motorsport videos this afternoon by coincidence and i see your name on many other clips and i almost said something but i stopped because you obviously are very bitter about your life and mentally ill. You should call a truce and stop because i am bored of you, go home to your family please and stop believing you are the master of the universe! I am sure others agree!

  • Comment removed

  • Italy in motorsport organization & overall competence is among the best 3/4 countries

in the world, it's no disorganized and crappy canada or even worse USA who are among the worst in the world.

Italy is no crappy disorganized canada and has a long term experience in raing cars & bykes circuits and accidents rescues : Berger is still alive only thanks to the perfect organization and extraordinary competence of Imola's rescue team.

  • If Gerhard Berger was in any of the so badly organized and unsafe northamerican circuit he would have died at 101 % !

As for your imaginary and absolutely false

60s & 70s staths, they're nothing but funny totally invented nonsenses just like your bizarre statement that " Italy is famous for anarchy " ??? XDDDD What anarchy are you rubbishing about ?? What's the meaning ? I can't understand anything .

What is true is that Italy in motorsport is along with Great Britain

  • the most well organized and the most competent country of the world, while the northamerican ridiculous & show oriented circuits are the most unsafer and badly organized of the world .

USA & Canada are 2 countries in which there is a little overall knowledge of motorsport and even less competence and good organization.

Come and learn something in the Ferrari's home : Italy will always teach you as for racings competence & good organization .

    Post more

  • Anyway it took 30 mins to take the driver out of the car , that was a huge delay in overall rescue .

30 mins and the car was just sharp on the start line, unbelievable !

Northamerican incompetence about cars racing , the same for the US circuits I must say , they are permanent insecure & so disorganized graves full of incompetent & uncapable marshalls .

    RIP Riccardo

  • what the fuck are you talking about! Italy had a terrible record for safety in the 70s and 80s, Ronnie Petersen died at Monza because of poor safety and bad organisation, in fact Italy is very famous for anarchy so get off your high horse! North America is much more efficient and liberal, also remember this was in 1982 and things are much better now!

  • Like every ignorant of motorsports and F1 you quickly typed on shitty wikipedia nad got a totally false & bizarre bs , that's what anglosaxon wikipedia is all about : total ignorance and one-way false bs added by spoken english countries' morons .

Ronnie Peterson didn't die in Monza because of poor safety like you ridiculously abnd ignorantelly wrote : get informed why he died , it was not due to an imaginary lack in the Monza circuit, which at that time was among the best organized in the world

  • in fact the rescue & the medical help was efficient and competent. Stop being rude ignorant northamerican and tell ridiculous bs and check that Ronnie Peterson died because he had 13 fractures on both his legs and chose to be operated despite there was a serious risk on embolysm refusing to be amputated like it would have been done .

After the operation a fatal embolysm suddenly came up and he fastly died .

That's the REAL truth and not the false, uncorrect.shamefull anglosaxon one .

  • i suggest you read professor Sid Watkins book "life at the limit" and he talks about how bad the facilities at Monza in 78 were and the delay was crucial, the crowd are out of control, no organisation! Also Paletti was dead, the was crushed inside the car, just read the book but your being critical without any evidence..you started this with your ignorance of other countries and you can't accpept the truth about Italy

  • they were taking his helmet off n stuff but he wasn't moving at all. very sad that he broke his neck :\ .

  • very sad

  • foi um acidente triste...

  • he was dead before the fire even started

  • correct. Riccardo had a broken neck, fortunately he didn't suffer for the fire.

  • as a matter of fact... it was the impact that killed ricardo... the steering collumn crushed his chest... so many design problems with F1 cars back then... may all the drivers lost rest in peace :(

  • no body expect (including the cameraman) the car will explode..he (cameraman) thought that it will be a simple rescue and everyone might think that he just stuck in the car and pass out. sad, but now we learn from it.

  • This in fact is very rare footage of Paletti's crash. I've never seen this one before. Strange to say, but: Superb you put this on youtube, as respect to Ricardo and all the racing drivers. RIP paletti.

  • i dont understand the camera man...

how can you hold a camera onto an clearly heavy injured guy

  • Put it on your shoulder, aim and push the record button I guess???

  • According to F1 Track rules, "Only Track Workers trained in Medical rescue may assist a driver when an accident has Occurred". Every Cameraman knows this and this is why he did not interfere. Check it out on Google.

  • i meant the human aspect...

  • I suppose he thought they would get him out...or maybe he was just "hoping" for the million dollar shot. It's hard to say.

  • Add to that, the Cameraman was adamant that he didn't think it was that bad of a crash.

He has no idea the guy was dead. He had seen a hundred crashes like this before. It was just a typical crack up to him.

Just a tragic day. Its very sad.

  • the poor guy!!!!!!!!!!1

  • that isn't rare

  • When you see some of the high speed accidents in F1 today that drivers walk away from it makes you realise that the standards are so much higher now because of the lessons learned from the deaths of so many young men like Paletti over the years. God bless them all.

  • He hit the back of Pironi's car at about 120 mph......

  • his back was broken, thats what he died of. not the fire

  • Little shunt nothing. He hit Pironi at 100 mph. You call that "only a little shunt"?!

  • wow, so thats where the footage of the camera man is.. i have seen the regular overview of the crash footage in tons of other vids and have seen the camera man..uh...

  • I had never seen this angle before...what a tragedy.

  • A bit more on Paletti's death ... in the official report on his autopsy (yes they still had to do one) they found that his internal injuries were just to severe and there was no way they were going to get him out in time to save him, so really the fire had nothing to do with his death.

  • Well, it did prevent them from helping him quicker but he suffered no burns and died of massive internal injuries.

  • Paletti was just barely alive when they got to him and in the course of trying to free him the fuel caught fire, but by the time they got the fire out and were able to reach Paletti again he had no pulse, so yes, he was for all intents and purposes he was already gone just before the fire and thankfully unconcious.

  • y didnt they use the extinguishers on the leaking gas beforehand...maybe they didnt have enough time?... very sad RIP

  • unfortunatly, many crashes involving leaking fuel meant the rescuers simply hoped that there wasn't a spark. Famously this was the case with stirling moss at goodwood. Luckily the wreck didn't go up and he was eventually freed.

  • The steering wheel and column are up against his crash helmet, you can see the marshall trying to move it in an attempt to free him. I would say it is unlikely he was consious after such an impact. Very sad, RIP

  • did he die`?

  • he did, but not from the fire. he suffered massive internal injuries and two broken legs

  • You can see the cameraman that took this video on other videos of this crash here.

  • Oh yeah the Havoc videos. I remember I did rent some of them ten years or so ago. All these racing crashes from many eras.

It's pretty clear Paletti was dead before flames came. He basically received the steering and all chassis parts right to his chest and stomach. He was crushed and out of air in seconds.

  • What a horrible way to go...poor guy. I hope he was dead before the flames engulfed him RIP.

  • Incidentally, the 'cameraman with the yellow shirt' is Brian Kreisky, who created the Havoc video series.

  • feel sorry for the guy u can tell he was dead before the flmaes started by the way he was lying and what the stewards/marshalls were doing...

  • Idk about dead but, at least, I don't think he was concious..thank god... :(

  • Great find, really. I was wondering about the video shoot of the cameraman with the yellow shirt, and here it is! thanks for this find!

  • great find i was just wanted to see this one

  • this is the official fia cam. the famous guy on the yellow shirt. great find

  • great find

  • Remember the cameraman with the yellow shirt? That's the result it gave. Comments and last cam angle mostly from French Canadian broadcast.
