I remember Eddie Capra from when I was a kid. It was one of the reasons I fell in love with mysteries. I wish I could find on dvd or someone post uphere.
Shecky Green on Carson, now that is some pop culture there, late has never been the same since he left. He was the best, and 2nd is so far back, it ain't worth talking about.
In the 1980's around 1985, Eddie Capra was one of many shows aired in repeats on USA Network... others included Toma, Petrocelli, Get Christie Love, Chase and numerous others.
NBC (and Fred Silverman) depended on Casey to deliver NBC's nightly promos during this period. Boy, did they LEAP out at you! By 1982, Danny Dark had succeded Kasem as the network's promo announcer [just as Brandon Tartikoff succeeded Silverman as NBC's chief programmer], and he did them until just about the end of the decade.
What caused NBC to have such a major league downturn ratings wise during the years between 1975-1985?

@EricEbac22 Actually, as I remember they turned it around in '84 with their Thursday night lineup of Cosby Show, Family Ties and Cheers.

That's also the same Casey Kasem, that is best known as the original host of radio's "American Top 40."

Danny Dark was previously at CBS from as late as 1978(he did the "Turn us on, we'll turn you on" promo) until 1982, when he moved to NBC.

It's called having a VCR when most couldn't afford them yet.
In any event, it's interesting to hear Casey Kasem go up such a high octave to do his VO.
