argh, i thought it was gonna be better than this! very nice piece though and i respect it because its carl craig and hes a legend! only seen him once though and he was playing b2b with luciano at circus!
C2 is an original techno prodigy. Forever shaping the electronic industry since the 90s and still doing great pieces, much like his performance at DEMF this year.
I LOVE IT!!!! I'M BACK HOME FINALLY BEING AWAY FROM HOME FOR 20 YEARS LIVING IN DALLAS, MIAMI, ST.LOUIS BACK IN THE D!!!!! TO CARL, INNER CITY!!! THE MOVEMENT!!! WHAT'S UP CUZIN PEBBLES IN THE ATL!!!! THE D IS WHERE IT'S AT!!! REAL ARTIST!!!!
Whoever called this as Laurent Gaurnier, I believe that youre right. Particularly with the 2`50s highhats reminding of the Eiffel Tower track. Very deep very good. This Not Carl Craig maybe. No?
Carl Craig sadly just seams to just have become a name, if the name is there ppl say it's so great! wtf when i played one of his first retroactive release back in the early 90's most people left the dancefloor for the bar but hey i dare
@bissia Although he's been around longer than that (but I grew up a headbanger), I started hearing/reading about him in 94. I traveled back to LA from SF for a big show, where Moby was going to play. Tripping out in another room, I missed Moby's set but came in time to hear Craig. I was enthralled by the way that he was building up & stripping down tracks, right there, on his sequencer. I started looking up his stuff back in SF shops & bought a trancey Planet E track that I used in a mix.
Aside from that, I have never found anything from him that would fit in with stuff that I am drawn to. Another cooling effect on me, regarding CC, happened during that set (not really enduring, because I'm forgiving & it's not his fault). Some buddies standing next to him kept pointing & mimicking me (as I was trying to make out what he was doing, from 50+ ft. away, at the bottom of a stage). Maybe they thought I was homo or s.t. but it was definitely a turn off.
@bissia you mustve been playing for a bunch of nobodies that wouldve hit the floor if you played a britney spears song....Obviously you werent playing for true House Heads, cause if you were, you wouldve gotten a better response. Carl Craig is a pioneer and true House Lovers know and appreciate real House producers...I bet if you played the Macarena everyone wouldve hit the floor
@machoboricua74 I never dare supposing anything from someone online which I do not know. Second you seam to have reading and literary disabilities, as in my initial message I state I used to play his early release output on Retroactive (long before Planet E) and no one around me including myself at such parties ever played your Britney. All I wanted to say is that Craig today seams to be an hype name which assure crowd gatherings to events organisers, his output now is inferior than in early day
@bissia Funny, you must be some type of mobile disc jockey playing weddings and bar-mitvahz cause a true House DJ would know the history and know that Carl Craig is more than just a name..he has produced under his name and many aliases and brought detroit house & techno to the forefront. before electronic music was mainstream cool it was once underground and had a major following. either u trainwrecked the carl craig track u played or u played for a bunch of commercial wannabees.
@machoboricua74 I am very mobile indeed, I used to promote Detroit techno (and other types of music) a lot indeed and if you only knew at who you are writing this and my experiences (even with Carl Craig), I would walk on thin ice.
Carl Craig sadly just seams to just have become a name, if the name is there ppl say it's so great! wtf when i played one of his first retroactive release back in the early 90's most people left the dancefloor for the bar but hey i dare

I've been looking for a nice remix of inner city's good life for almost 30 mins now and all I can find are bad and worse mixes. come on people and u call yourselves (hobby)-DJs...
I like the gradual buildup. Well-crafted stuff. It is interesting hearing 2nd generation Carl Craig's effect on a K Saunderson creation, which i reckon transcended the genres at that particular time.
