In a world where central governments fail, warlords will reign. It has always been thus and always will be. This is something that the Libertarian dogmatists and anarchists fail to grasp. Freedom is enhanced when the rule of law is enforced by strong governments....it allows the rest of us to get on with our lives in peace.

well I wouldn't say that *strong governments are necessary for social peace. We've cut every federal program except medicare since 1970 but crime rates, property and violent crime, have declined precipitously since then. Individuals just need to make the covenant with the state for the latter to do the former's violence.

Of course, the government must be reeled in by a constitution that supports rights for the people, but I think that we agree.
