its kinda hard to tell but it could be either the way to find out is on the ground floor or the lowest level the elevator can go to is to look around for a machine room when its on the bottom its hydralic also ride it up and down once and listen to the sound of the motor if it sounds the same in both dirrections its traction but if it sounds like water or fluids when it goes down then its hydralic its proberly hydralic because its cheep
Is this on the secure side? How funny; I'm going with a group of students to that exact same airport a week from now! We're going to New York and Philly!
Yeah it's traction; they go so fast and upon arriving at the floor, they slow down to complete stop accurately eliminating the need of parking feature to level evenly unlike the hydralic units. This elevator has a speed of 200 fpm.
Is this the new section of the Airport?!?

I would probably say traction, since it went fast.

Same with ATL (Atlanta International Airport) when I took elevators to/from T (tunnel level, I think)and it went fast.

On the other hand, hydraulic elevators can have speeds of up to 200 fpm.
