I had a 805 and it was ok.not good just ok. the hardware felt cheap like plastic.I would reccomend a cheap gretsch.they don't look as cool but they sound WAY better. I sold my 805 and went with a catalina birch, and it is a huge inprovement.I like the maple too.
Depends... 24 is more boomy and bassy. 20 is faster, sharper and more focused. It's also more comfortable to play (because smaller drums are always easier to play - with hands AND feet).
i think i at 1:22 he says something like twente va twente which my guess would be 20 by 20? and the video does appear to be stretched out of proportion.
I have this kit i dont use the snare anymore i got a Pork Pie snare put i use evans g2 coated heads on it and it sounds amazinf but my rack tom seems to get out of tune way more than others what am i doing? and ive been playing for 8 years and im tuning it right.
I recommend the 20 ... it's a smaller fusion set up (12/14/16 toms). The 20 bass sounds much tighter and punchier than the 24. Also, even sized toms are easier to tune to one another musically (larger set sizes 13/16/18) ... odd sized toms always tune funny in my exp. Because the 805's are BIRCH, you still get very strong attack from the smaller set up. Plenty of volume to spare. I love my 805's, and would put them up against more expensive kits any day. The look and sound scream "ROCK"!
