the nerf gun indeed does shoot faster, farther and is of easier use for people of all ages including young kids who like to shoot things, or older people who enjoy shooting people like in paintball but without big welts. Nerf guns really have taken that idea into affect and executed it for everyones use well.

Grab a webcam, some servos, an Arduino and a USB connection kit, write some software and build the actual sentry gun robot stand. Attach a P90.

If you're good with metal and C (the programming language), working nights, this project will take around three weeks to make. :)

Yeah, operating one in the vicinity of a public area most certainly is, as there's a huge risk involved with the gun malfunctioning and firing on civilians. Switch the P90 for a rubber bullet gun and It'll be great for keeping wolves, coyotes and bears (or whatever you've got) out of your crops.

As always, nobody's going to make a how-to video, as this is a school book example of "do not try this at home". Billy Bob Sixpack will just kill his family with one. :)
