I really love that they used an Asian woman, idk you almost never see an Asian woman unless she is highly sexualized/'The Dragon Lady' or because it's a martial arts movie. Makes me love this song even more!
It's kind of scary. There's some people you just can't imagine being old. Yeah Jeff would've been 45, but could you actually imagine that? I mean, that pure voice? Still going on at age 45. It's weird, when i was 14 i couldn't ever imagine my father being a good grandad (not that he wasn't a good father, he just didn't seem like he could ever be a grandad unlike my mother who could be a grandmother with ease) and he died too. I guess some people are really only ment to be for a short while! RIP
When i was growing up i used to listen to the radio a lot (90's no MTV in my country yet) and this song would come up late night, and i always thought i mean there's no doubt on mind this guy was black, is voice so soulful and this is song so Prince type thing.
@JaguarNoise Yes! I'm looking forward to the movie! But, why they didn't cast James Franco in the role is baffling me. His role in Pineapple Express alone should make it obvious that he can pull off Jeff's quirky personality. Just a thought! T
just beautiful, thank you for your emotive music, i've been listening for 9 years now, big inspiration and the only man i would want to see live. no one could say a bad word about his music, and not just because he is no longer with us, his music finds his way to the right people, people who appreciate his talent, he never started out as a singer, he just found it, like i found him at the age of 15. his music lives on in the hearts of the open minded, humble people. he was a find, & a great loss
Hey guys, if you have a spare minute could you check out some of my covers on my channel and give some feedback. It sucks to have to advertise like this but it seems like the only way to get exposure. Thanks if you do check it out...
@surfthewebph Well, music is generally timeless, and that's all the more true for Jeff's :) Unfortunately, if it ain't Kesha, Gaga or Bieber, it's frowned upon today...
Can everybody just shut up with your beyonces and justin biebers. Can I just watch ONE good video without people comparing and mentioning someone completely unrelated to the genre and artist. Ugh
I believe Jeff Buckley wanted to make a living and some money playing, but his need and pull to make music consumed him and drove him to heights so great that most people can't understand that passion.
I'm here because a new artist I have found has inspired me and saved my life with his words and voice I call "velevet gravel". His name is Jake Walden and I am on a mission for everyone to here! He has two albums and EVERY song..every song...sigh...I love you Jake Walden...I am a Dreamer too
It is as if his music is tearing you apart inside, leaving you vulnerable. Sometimes his songs are too painful. Leaves me emotionally aching. But like a drug, you just can't stop...........
Every time I hear this song it sends shivers down my spine. There are only two other songs that do that to me and they are Queen - Only the good die young and Jeff Buckley - Forget Her.
@hurrdurrbleh I feel fortunate to have seen Jeff play twice: at the Reading Festival in 1994 (Morphine played on the same stage) and at Liberty Lunch in Austin in 1995 (Soul Coughing opened). I doubt I'll ever see a more passionate performer in my lifetime.
Hey everyone, I just started my own music channel and have done a couple covers of Jeff Buckley. Please check it out sometime and let me know what you think! It would be much appreciated. Long live Jeff Buckley.
My love for Jeff grows for every time i listen to him. I remember when i bought the album "Grace" and i thought songs like "Mojo Pin", "Lilac Wine", "So Real", and "Last Goodbye" weren't that good. After listening to "Grace every day for a week now, "Mojo Pin" is my favourite song with him, and i love all the rest!
@jnotheman thats exactly how i felt about those same songs!!!! Now I listen to the album everyday, and love every song on the album!!! (except corpus christi carol, still cant get into that one)
@SamNeedsToSing You're kidding right? I just recently started to understand that song, i love it now though, but it took me some weeks to get into it ;)
Yes you were the "one", so after this I go to the Nightshift and think of Marvin Gaye and your good self. Still remember hearing the radio announcer choking after this with the news that day in 1997 in the hot tropical sun on a bus in Darwin with the earplugs in fighting the good fight against Jabiluka . I swear the orbit wobbled from the anguisin anguish in that radio guys voice. He knew you were the one too.
thanks writer/mom it was high emotion, and i really caught my breath hearing this song, thinking, who could do that, and then he's gone already. Tragedy I thought. Like hearing Victor Jara and knowing what happened to him. Tragedy.
The thing with Jeff's music is that, unless you are a really really strong fan of his, you can't even contemplate the emotional value that you get from the music, as well as the absolutely stunning musical value you get as well. It can actually get over-whelming at times, but that's the exact reason why I love it. If anybodies music can do that to me, well then fair play, but Jeff was just really exceptional. The pain, love, anger, caring that he put into his music is just something else.
@ChrisArdcath I wholeheartedly agree and couldn't have said it better myself. If I sound like some kind of "music snob" then so be it. But there are times when I can't even listen to his music because I know I am not ready. even after so long, it can still be too much for me.
@ChrisArdcath I couldn't agree more I think it's very strange that he has such a little fan base even though his music such as this song touches quite a few genres on rock. Jeff was the ultimate kind of artist.
@BigTymerPimp That's true this song already has some soul which is why I think it would be great for her.
