Hmmmm....sounds familiar. :-) ...much like the Alfred version's CD. It is that version that I'm trying to "copy" because it's one of the nicer versions I've heard. I read some of the other comments on voicing, appreggios, and whether or not to play the broken chord. I'll have to analyze this again when I know more about this piece. Anyway, this will definitely be another piece that you and I have in common. I am past the 1st page now and ready to begin work on that daunting 2nd page.
Thanks for the comment! I've been hearing so many people working on the inventions, so I decided to revisit one of the pieces I've learned in the past. Your evenness and clarity of voices in this recording is admirable. And what a lovely cadence at the end! I love the warm sound of your piano, too.
and and sorry for bothering you, with 'modern' I mean, you give it a bit a romantic touch , not baroque at all ! thats why it sounds also a bit strange to me ;)
Also after a few more times listing it, the end, the arrpegios why do you do that :) ? just want to know your motivation of it ;) ? in my ears it sounds a bit to 'modern' in this invention ! a bit to much , because if you watch the the holl pieces, there are not many notes played at the same time, thats why the arpgegios at the end sounds a bit to ... much for me, a bit to many notes at once, a bit to 'modern' I would prefer it a bit diffrence, then I will show you an other alternative end
@Darkboy2525 - I had been practicing a different ending, which was as written with an mordent on the highest C note. The broken chord ending I think is quite common. Bach scholar does it this way and also on the CD that came with my Alfred's music book. I chose the broken chord on the fly because my hands would sometimes freeze trying to play the mordent. So to save the recording I went with the broken chord because it's easier to play. Playing at home I play as written with mordent :)
also let me give you an advise for No 4 ! compared to no 1 ! :) .. the staccato in the 8th notes have to be a bit diffrence there, in No 1 you play them more like Portato ! ;) .. and in no 4 you can really play it STACCATO ! .. the more portato soul fits more in No 1 .. and the real steady stacato in no 4 :) ... so have fun please ! ;) No 4 was nicer to practice in my opinion then this one ;) !
Yes ! Ben ! this are also my first pieces where I think like . HMM thats NOT EASY AT ALL ! I think the problem is with the brains that need to get use to this kind of playing ... it is a diffrence way then other pieces, I can;t really explain, but you understand I think !
well haha it is pretty funny .. I practice this one now, and you do no.4 ! Me myself did experience the No 4 as an easier piece ! I have more problems with no 1 !! really ! and you have more problems with no 4 you say ?
Great!:)
