I Went there for my school trip we hate to be at school by 4.15 am :) lol and we went to a choclate shop there and they had a speciel offer just for our school we could see over our pile of sweets and we went to hill 62 and the trenches and we got to run around in them and we went to tyne cot cemetry and in flanders feild museum and me and my friend got called prostitues by this french guys :p lol xx and we called it wipers insted of ypres cause we couldent pronounce it lol. i'll never forget it
Ypres is the French name, Ieper is the correct and official Flemish name of the city. Wipers was merely a mispronunciation by British soldiers of the French name.

I have chosen to use the official name, Ieper, rather then the English name, Ypres.
