Toad: Lame robot, but catchy theme.

Dust: Kinda surprised HE got the mysterious theme from this game.

Bright: Even for a furutistic game, his theme sounds even more futuristic.

Dive: This song screams "you are doomed". Cool.

Ring: The only theme one could call psychodelic, cool for that.

Pharaoh: Another theme that screams "You are so dead", cool.

Skull: This is almost a metal song, just listen to the galloping in the background.

I dunno, I find the cheesiness of Robot Masters to be part of the charm. Yes, guys like Toad Man and Ring Man are silly. But that's part of the fun. :)

Well, I understand why people hate this game. Reason is.. People prefer simple ideas for elemental robots, based on fire, water, wind and earth over stuff like dust, pharaon, BULB, skulls or toad (and the author of this admitted himself - he's a poor excuse for a boss). This is why MM 2 is so loved (heat, bubble, air, wood). Every MM had some "pathetic" Robot Masters, but MM 4 just has too many

@benkofelesegetkeres They do count.. But Robot Masters are the main thing for most people. Also, the quality of level design depends on them sometimes. It's easier to make a nice stage when the robot design is interesting. The weapons are rarely interesting, as they do get repetitive (uh, shields)

@sora8711 People say that MM4 lacked the quality that the earlier games had, but I can see no difference. Some of the Robot Masters have been criticised as well for being stupid, but I don't understand how for example Quickman is better than Skullman, or Topman better than Ringman.

And yes, the music for this game is legendary.

@sora8711 I agree the music is pretty epic (especially the intro/prologue!), but i think people didn't like the game as much as Megaman 2 and 3 because this was the first game where the weapons you win from the bosses are kind of redundant from previous games (e.g. Ringman = Shadowman, Brightman = Flashman, Skullman = Woodman, Drillman = Crashman, Pharoahman = Heatman). obviously, the weapons aren't exact copies, but it seemed like they were running out of ideas for a while.
