  • apparently, this number was supposedly trademarked by a guy in South Florida for his plumbing business, and it pissed off every phone company in South FL and they've repeatedly tried to take this dude to court on the grounds that you can't trademark a phone number

  • @WPUpioneer LOL Plumbers name was Jenny LOL

  • @legomaxmania What's funny about that?

  • Leave those poor people alone. They may have to take this phone number out of the phone system due to this song and now we can google every area code in the US looking for Jenny :). Who is Jenny?

  • Back in the 1980s my telephone number at my desk at work was 637 5309. Kids would call the number all the time and ask for Jennie. Drove me crazy.

  • Back in the 1980s my telephone number at my desk at work was 637 5309. Kids would call the number all the time and ask for Jennie.

  • sad to think that if this was written today the line "your the girl for me" would end "you don't know me but you make me so horny" :/

  • Come on. You know you've dialed this number after/while listening to this song. Don't deny it.

  • When I was testing video games at my old job, our password to our WIFI was 8675309. Pure WIN.

  • @Bond23d pronounce nine like that and you'll get how he pronounces the number "nine

  • @katieandkatieshow Lol nice job missing a number

  • @katieandkatieshow its 8675309

  • heyy thats not my number! haha ohh well i still lovee it :) hehe, great song!

  • i love this fuken song!!!!!!

  • Actually they were NOT a one-hit wonder. They had a song that hit the charts earlier called "Angel Say No" that hit the Top 40 charts.

  • @Dietpepsivanilla True but for some mysterious reason they are mostly called a one hit wonder. Actually,a lot of great 80's artists are considered one hit wonders despite the fact that they have a lot of great songs.

  • @ancele007. I think why this band is considered a one hit wonder is because no other single they put out matched the height, or even came close to the level of "867-5309." Plus, when people think of Tommy Tutone, most likely, they think of this.

  • @Dietpepsivanilla There's not much of a difference between a one hit wonder and a two hit wonder, the distinction doesn't need to be made.

  • @SpinKicksusplits86 How many hits do you have?

  • @SpinKicksusplits86 Actually there is a difference. One hit. The distinction does have to be made. If it doesn't, where do you draw the line.

  • @Dietpepsivanilla Having two hit songs still classifies one as a "one-hit wonder" The term doesn't mean literally having just one hit.

  • @Dietpepsivanilla So you could say Tommy had... *sunglasses* Two Tones...

  • Tommy "2" tone hit wonder then......

  • Welcome to 1982

  • from what i can understand and remember the number belonged to a docters daughter in the Buffalo NY area... and she got 1000's of calls when this song came out.. and no her name wasn't jenny...lol

  • 80's music is the best!

  • I wonder what would happen if you called this number...

  • nostalgia......

  • great song !!!

  • Easily one of the best rock songs of all time.

  • X) i love this song so much... my dad had a cd with it in the car, but it always had skipping problems.. it was so funny but i wanted to listen to it too badly

  • dang, this song is awesome!

  • i wonder how many people actually called this number lols

  • between this song and forrest gump, i don't know whether to hate or love my name due to all the references made to me about them on a daily basis...

  • lol, correct me if i am wrong but a lot of people actually called to this number after the single was realeased, right?? XD

  • @kenseiharima yup XD

  • Knew a Jenny....different # but still a great ...ahem...rhythm :)

  • The number is a glass repair shop where i live here in VA

  • I ABESOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG... but i didnt learn it from jennifer's body :P still love it :D

  • i feel ashamed that i learned this song from Jennifer's body XD

  • What? Is she supposed to be a prostitute? No, I am not some noobish kid who knows nothing about music. I'm a teen but music-wise, I'm the exact opposite. The lyrics just sound like they have sexual connotations to me Lol.

  • @Transformers2themax She's not a pro but has a reputation for being 'easy', hence one of the men who's had her has written her number on the wall. Either that or he was a p'd off ex boyfriend.

  • I got song from Dont Forget the Lyrics last year 2009 and i love it!!!

  • The original phone number was 555-867-5309

    ;)

  • Lol this reminds me of the movie jennifers body...lol this song is slitely morbid in a way

  • amazing tune to bad there a one hitter. Its funny in the states no one is aloud to have this phone number because theres alot of prank calls and everytime people call the number they always ak for jenny lols
