I guess somebody did not get it, it is called sarcasm.
I hold a class A-M CDL, that should already tell you something.
At my present job I run a crane, and the basic operation is super easy, I just fit in first day on the job.
However I am the ONLY qualified operator at this jobsite.
A lot of it is skill, some of it is talent, but by far the most part of it is the desire to be the best, the drive to not just be good but the very best one can be.
@Arabhacks it take little to operate a dozer? Well true anyone can put the blade down but can you hold a grade and not get the whoop dee whoops after 1 pass and make it look like glass? It takes alot of practice and time in a dozer to use it properly..a noted stock car driver HARDLY! you don't just get in the car and turn left and driving a tractor trailer..if it was easy everyone would do it and wouldn't need a license for it..i won the tour de france 14 times but it's just riding a bike..right
I have been told by a few veteran contractors through the years that the D10 is the best machine as everything was sized just right and they have a reliable history,They say the D11 is an impressive and intimidating beast with that 11 blade but had a lot of problems with homoligating and reliability...correct me if I am wrong people please, but I have seen more D10 units on large projects and mines
@trippytril Haven't heard much about reliability issues with D11's, but they're far more expensive to run per hour, whether it's working hard or idling along the U/C is wearing. You have to work a 11 at 100% all the time to make them pay. Other thing is the logistics of moving one, you can ship a 10 fully assembled on one truck, a 11 requires either disassembly or a double truck move. Around my area companies usually buy two D8s and work them as a team when they need a big push.
omg it 526 pullig a 253 with a 958 running alongside a 194 with 28 t of weight anf 26 cm of thrust chewing 29 l per hour or 4 gals per minute over 73 miles or about 49 km s using a 304 and a 589 hauling a 256 pushing a 838 d10...... you fuckin minesite wankers....
You all should have seen Toby the clown shooting arrows at the D10 the first year. I still remember that and the high hoe with a attachment that went and picked up the arrows. Those good old days and memories!!!!!
Caterpillar tractors in the 1920s and 1930s could be either gasoline or diesel powered. The "D" stood for diesel. D-2 up to D-8 in those days. The letters and other numbers were added in the future.
R in front of the D stood for the original wide track version as in RD-8 or RD-6.
You don't know me, sorry, If you knew anything about the CIA and MI6 you would probably know me.
I don't deal with these Heavy Track Tractors, I have been in a tank a number of times and I ONLY wanted to know what 'D' meant.. I wanted to know what it meant, D = Dozer, D = Duty.....That kind of thing, But I guess it means "The Class."
I'm sorry for wasting your time and hope you understand..
"Out Cold.." that's what I say when i'm done the job.

Got it backwards the D-11 is at the left the D-8 at the right. Should read D-11. D-10, D-9, D-8.

True, it takes little to operate a bulldozer, but when you get down to it there is little to driving a race car, or 18 wheeler.
I can run a bulldozer and was a noted stock car racer in my day and I hold a class A-M CDL with all of the endorsements.
What are your qualifications?
And, chances that this is a bunch of rednecks is very slim indeed, the USA has had a hard time exporting rednecks. ;)

Komatsu also have some really impressive machines.. Just check out they're large wheeled loaders on the current market they are pretty high tech!
