  • where can I get one of these?

  • @Spystreak I dont think private citizens can possess one of these in Canada, even if one was available.

  • You, Finns, are good fighters. Too bad you were on nazies side :(.

  • @Tumoxa89 Thank you, you Russians put up a hell of a fight I must say :) and if I had a time machine I'd go back in time and do an alliance with the British rather than Germans.

  • @Tumoxa89 Thank you, you Russians put up a hell of a fight I must say :) and if I had a time machine I'd go back in time and do an alliance with the British rather than Germans.

  • @Tumoxa89 too bad you were on Stalins side

  • @Tumoxa89 Too bad we killed all your soldiers.

  • @Tumoxa89 They did side with the Reich at first, for help in driving out the Soviet invaders. They did swith to the allied side later on in the Continuation War.

  • @beardo52 We (Finns) sided with Germany because it was only place to get help. Finns did try to get help from France and Great Britain but they were allied with USSR. Finns only fought against USSR, even Finnish Waffen-SS volunteers. We didnt switch to Allied side either...After Germany's defeat became inevitable Finns had to make peace with USSR, and in that peace treaty Finns were forced to declare war on Germany and to drive German troops out of Finland.

  • @JohQx3 This must be a necropost, at any rate the Fins did side with the reich for help against the evil empire, this is well known. But did they not later on in the continuation war turn away from the reich, and toward the Allies?Tell me more about that.

  • @beardo52 Depends do you call USSR being part of the Allies. Finns were practicly forced to backstab Germany or Finns wouldve shared the faith of the Baltic countries. When Continuation War ended Lapland War started right-away. It wasnt like slowly turning away from Germany, but a swift change. And towards the Allies? Officially towards USSR possibly, because it was necessary. In reality fighting against Germany felt like fighting against brother, forced by a bigger bully.

  • @beardo52 (continue) At FIRST Finns were fighting alone against warmongering USSR in Winter War. THEN Finns sided with Germans to fight Continuation War and in Lapland War Finns fought against Germans.

  • 2 russians disliked

  • Somebody clearly says "Mach' schnell!"

  • @godsadog That should be "ehtiä hätiköiden"

  • @beardo52 Yes. But that was defenetly German. Or something sounding very similar.

  • @godsadog The bystander did say Mach Schnell, I was jokingly writing it in Finnish, as they made the rifle..

  • @godsadog

Yeah they are Americans, but they said "macht schnell" Its German

I means something like "hurry up" or "make (it) quick" something along them lines.

  • @JustAnotherYtuber I know what it means I am German :P

  • @godsadog

    Oh, ok.

  • they converted this into an AA gun then made an automatic version for bunker busting

  • Greetings Russia, from Finland with love. :D

  • NTW-20 is still better... 14.5mm and 20mm are great options, and it's far more accurate with more variation on the ammo, including explosive and timed charge rounds.

  • @ForgottenSaintSinger It may benefit from some newer technology, but its 20mm munitions are far less powerful than the 20x138 used by the L-39 which had several different types of HE, and AP available, as well as a very nifty white phosphorus round.

  • @ForgottenSaintSinger You wouldn't want to pay for that fancy NTW ammo, anything thats explosive is a "destructive device, explosive"and has to be registered just like the rifle, each round will need a serial number, and separate paperwork, (each round carries a $200. transfer tax) And when you do use some to impress your friends, you have to file a form showing by number, which rounds were expended. and all this after you pony up the big money for the ammo itself.

  • @beardo52 The gun itself is classed as a destructive device. It's bigger than .50 caliber.

  • @TheZombieKiller29 That is true, any thing with a bore diameter of .510 or greater is classed as artillery(aside from shotguns, and other excepted firearms.) but most folks do not know that explosive ammo is also a "destructive device" and is legal to own as long as one registers each round, with serial number, pays the tax on each, and when expended, file a report showing that it has been expended.

  • GET OFF MY LAWN^^

  • almost like a mobile artillery gun hahaha

  • @KrptoSodium It is artillery, the unofficial cut off point for artillery is 20mm, and larger. (though in the U.S. for legal purposes, anything larger than 50 cal is classed as artillery. These types of weapons were all that the infantry had before the advent of shaped charge rockets like the Bazooka, 1942, and the Panzer Faust/Schreck 1943.

  • Yea well the gun after all uses the 20x138mm (the .50 caliber is 12.7x99mm just for comparison) which the germans used in their anti-aircraft cannons :P

  • Sounds more like an artillery shell firing.

  • Christmas is coming make your wishes boys cuz im sure i want one!!

  • Get off my lawn! damn kids.

  • Ain't that nice!

    Greetings from Finland

  • I have two of these mags for this gun I believe, are they worth anything? I got them from a lady that her husband had them for a lot of years, he recently passed away at age 95, curious to if they are worth much. thanks

  • @beachaar Lahti Mags have value if they are in good condition, with no rust, and fully functional. They are worth more if the mag carrier is with them, in good condition . The only problem is finding a buyer. Shot Gun News is one place to post them, there are other online gun auction sites that offer these on occasion, so you might try there. (aside from the usual ebay, and craigs list)

  • hell yeah!

  • have rats in my basement . is this the solution to my problem?

  • @dodoslovensko Your basement would probably get destroyed, along with the rats.

  • 20mm, jesus. And everyone thinks a .50cal is crazy

  • Norsupyssy :)

  • put a baby in front of it and itll die

  • @barfumer Put anything in front of it and it'll die.

  • this is legal correct, there arnt any restrictions on bolt action no matter what caliber. Except in probally california. I really want one

  • @Mauser2012 Ownership of most any weapon is legal in the U.S. With the exception of .50 cal rifles in California. anything larger is considered artillery, and falls under the National Firearms act. This regulates the procedure for registration of Destructive devices (non explosive) So any rifle with a bore of .510 inches is artillery, regardless of it being a bolt, or semi auto, or even full auto, must be registered in accordance with NFA regs. = load of paperwork &investigations.

  • @beardo52 So you can't own Lahti L-39 in the States?

  • @OnlyLifeMatters Of course one can own a Lahti, or pretty much anything else in the U.S.. There are regulations to observe, but its not that much to deal with. Coming up with the cash to buy them is the biggest problem.

  • @beardo52 I just was thinking that L-39 is well over .50 cal rifle. But was that .50 limitation for California only? That in, say, Oklahoma, 20mm rifle ain't classified as "artillery"

  • @OnlyLifeMatters The Cal. law applies to new purchases of the .50 BMG rifles. I dont know what the law is concerning destructive devices there. Federally speaking, any weapon not on the excepted list that is larger than .510 inches is classed as artillery. If you want a 20mm it will have to be in your State, or transferred in through a D.D. dealer (if there is one in your State.) Class 10 (D.D.) dealers are not in every State, you might find one by a google search.

  • @beardo52 Well I'm gonna run a search, then. It is interesting how nearly any weapon is allowed there. Are silencers allowed too, as they are here in Finland?

  • @OnlyLifeMatters Yes, supressors are legal, and are regulated in the same way as machine guns and artillery.. They are registered with the BATFE and include a $200 transfer tax, finger prints, police photos and 2 investigations

  • we need a whole shit load of those here in The United States of America, and a few boat loads of ammunition, target Bilderburg !

  • @lightningman01 There really arent many more of these rifles, Most were imported to the U.S. in the 60's. The remainder are the few left in Finland, and in museums around the world.

  • now imagine 100 per second with the m61 vulcan, which is the smallest cannon mounted on an aircraft. and soviets have 30MM!

  • @minerofblood The U.S. employs two different rotary guns larger than 20mm. The 25mm gun in the gun ships, and the 30 mm used in the A-10 Thunderbolt/Warthog. the cartridge fired by the rifle in this clip is far more powerful than the 20x102mm Vulcan round.

  • a rare moment when i can be proud to be Finnish ^_^

  • this gun dont push you back, it pushes the world forward.

  • Good to see that there are still some which are in their original form and not de-milled or deactivated.

  • Some token german?

  • theres a unique sound it makes when its firing

    (in my opinion)

  • @MrPennyworth007 It does make a big throaty boom, and if firing slower reloads, sometimes you can hear a whine from the air going over the engraved driving band.

  • @beardo52 but in my opinion it makes a "cachingk!" sound but i does make an awsome boom

  • @MrPennyworth007 Thats the sound it makes when chambering a round, but it would be different depending on what camera was used, and what speakers one uses. I hear only the gun firing, and then it's echo from the backstop.

  • @beardo52 oh! ya it probably is the chambering round. thx

  • @MrPennyworth007 Sometimes the case makes that same sound while being ejected out the bottom of the gun.

  • you should see what it does to steel plates,,,, makes neat holes through them, i have fired on 2" plates, and it cuts through very nicely.

  • mach schnell? A German?

  • does anyone know whitch 20mm round has the most range and also the one that has the most power?

and is the biggest 20mm round?

  • The 20x138B cartridge is listed as having a muzzle velocity of 850 mtr/sec using the 2,500 grain A.P. projectile. This cartridge is also used in the Solothurn Rifle,(S18-1000, and 1100) and some German A.A. guns.

  • Finns used it to take out soviet snipers :D

  • That was only after Soviet tanks became too heavy for them to take on safely. As tank designs improved all of the A.T. rifles were retasked to what is now called anti material, and formed the basis for the doctrines, and weapons in use today.

  • @beardo52 Thats called evolution ;) Things can change theyr function over time and find completely different function :D A military that was used for fighting purpose in yesterday can be used to rescue civilians from natural disasters or even to save environment today! :D

  • Really,,, I'd have never guessed.... :) Sinu inglise keel on väga hea!

  • @beardo52 Mida sa USA-s teed ? :D

  • @

cyberdaemon : Guns are America's particular cup of tea...

  • I wouldnt want to answer that knock at the door,,,,

  • Hahah yeah, "Cold Charlie" tactic :) priceless.

  • Uhh...that rifle does something really ugly to the human body. If 12.7mm Barrett M82 can tear hand off, what will 20mm Lahti L-39 do? Something pretty bad.

  • I dont want to be hit by even 9mm parabellum to be honest , im not a fucking Wolverine :D

  • Yeah, you got that one right :D

  • The L-39 wasnt meant to be a toy,, its a weapon of war. The Fins built it to stop Soviet armor in the Winter War. Since aim was to kill the tank, the future of the crewmen wasnt a huge consideration. But you are correct, it would be really ugly, especially with the secondary explosions, and fire. Thats War for ya,,,,,,

  • And it wasnt like Iraq where you have some short firefights here and there , there was a war , a battle you can compare to Somme or Stalingrad in many ways.

  • Usually, it just does something ugly to your wallet, first buying it, then feeding it.

  • @beardo52 yeah, ain't that bitch.

  • BOOM is good!

  • "mach schnell"

    boooom.

  • holy shit how fast that bullet travel?using a thing like that at human targets would be such a waste of power lol

  • The Finn service armor piercing ammo goes about 2,800 ft. per second. The projo weighs about 2,500 grains, and is of a steel alloy. The muzzle energy is about 40,000 ft. lbs. ( .50BMG is about 12,000 ft. lbs) This rifle was used against Soviet tanks in the Winter war, and as tanks grew too heavy for them to safely deal with, they were turned to other work, sniping included.I do believe it would make quite a mess, but war is war,,, no points for neatness.

  • @beardo52 later in the war it was mostly used against enemy dug-outs, bunkers and anti-aircraft purposes.

  • Very true, it did excel at that work, it was also used with a super quick fuzed H.E. shell to start fires behind soviet lines, to confuse, and cut off their retreat. They were fired at a high elevation, sending the rounds 7 miles or more.

  • about 800m/s which is incredibly fast. compare with AK-47 or any other rifle.

  • My .300 Winchester Magnum is nothing.

  • I think I need to change my pants.

  • looool that gun is so bad ass... the sounds is amazing!

  • Very nice, but very obscenely expensive. Ammo is incredibly difficult/expensive to get as well.

  • It's antitank ammo, used to destroy ennemy vehicles, who are cost alot of cash, thus making it a useful expense.

  • SA Intti :P

  • @aivopark what about a haircut? do you get one free too?

  • @danteswb Yup, it's the Finnish army. Not Swedish, where they use hairnets. :D

  • @baldurus1 The dutch have beards, must save a bunch on shaving costs...

  • wow look how cool you are insulting someone over the internet (you wish)

  • @mopo159

    Indeed.

  • Epic gunshot sound.

  • Finland rulezzzz

  • I want one of those guns, even if I can't shoot it,I still want one.

  • Punisher, look for a demilled gun, they look normal, just cant be fired. No paperwork, transfer tax hassles either. Look in shotgun news, they have ads for them sometimes, and you can look up destructive device dealers, they may be aware of available pieces.

  • i think i saw one on gunbroker going for 8000

  • That's cool, now I just need to find 8000 dollars.

  • ha 8000 cool the m82a1 or mo107 or the .50 cal goes for 8,900 and thats a 20mm great deal=]

  • @bluebuzzardcod4 Gun cost less, but the ammo price will scare you...

  • They also used this beast to shoot planes if I remember correctly.

  • wow!!

  • That was straight sex right there....

  • VERY erotische! "MARCK SCHNELL! TAM!"

Hard on 24/7 when looks with repeat ;O

  • sheeet! I want one! its probably like $40 a shot though

  • sounds like a freakin bomb i lvoe thes guns

  • doesnt matter how big the pork is , accuracy is where its at, and i can shoot the dick off a possum at 50 paces

  • Of the 1,000 Rifles imported in the 60's about half were de-milled by drilling a hole in the bottom of the gun @ the bi-pod. this was plugged and welded. This made the rifle too weak to restore to original, but was good for conversion to U.S.50 BMG. Once this was done, it was no longer a Destructive device, and needed no papers. Some of these rifles were not papered in the amnesty of 68', so became illegal. these are also good for conversion to .50, as only .51+ breech loaders require papers.

  • The L-39 Rifle is chambered in 20x138B, a german design, also used in the Solothurn. These are classed as destructive devices, and require registration with the ATFE.(alot of paperwork)+$200 for the trans tax.The round gives good performance @ about 2800 fps,and 40,000ft.lbs of M.E. the projo (A.P.)weighs about 5+ oz.The original Finn ammo was A.P. trace, The German stuff was made in many types.Last I heard, the ammo was about $50. per shot. The gun sells for $6K-8K depending on completeness&cond.

  • Its a Finnish gun, and Desinger is famous Aimo Lahti.

  • I had meant that the 20x138B cartridge was a German design, used in many of their 20mm A.A. guns, and was the most powerful of the contemporary 20 mm rounds. The rifle as you say, is Finn, and is derivative of the L-34, which was not suited to A.T. use in the late 30's early fourties. The prototype L-39 rifles were made in two calibers, one a 14mm-ish caliber, the other in a weaker 20X113mm cartridge. the smaller version was dropped without production.

  • :Continued: And only a few were actually produced in the 20X113, those were used in the winter war, but were barely adequate, the 20X138B was made the standard for all of the other L-39 rifles made.Finland was allied to Germany for the purpose of prosecuting the war against the aggressor Russia, who wanted to conquer Finland.Which is how they came to have to 20x138B available to them. I own one of the original functioning L-39's rare as near half of the thousand were De-Milled.

  • Is there a licensing process for Destructive devices like there is for Class III? I've been interested in buying an NTW-20.

  • Damn I wonder how much one of thoses rounds cost.

  • i read from 1 page that 1 20mm round for that cost 100$. so most of the guns are turned to .50cal

  • Hot damn! I want it! It'll give all the .50BMG owners deflated egos instantly.

".50 caliber? My grandma shoots one o'them for plinking. Me, I use my .80 caliber friend right here."

  • man he could have shot that barrel with a .22lr

  • Oh Gosh, Tell me where I can buy it, I want fuck out my neighbour's hooouse :( please!!

  • Finnish guns = pwnage

  • no, it was from finland.

  • Veterans who used Lahti AT told that every one cheked the muzzle brake installation before firing. If that was loose or non-present the recoil made the shoulder of the shooter a puzzle for surgeon, or frankly killed the shooter.

  • Mielenkiintoista..

  • on se kiva että toimiviakin vielä löytyy

  • I wouldnt call that a gun...that things a cannon

  • anything above i think 55 caliber is a cannon

  • well just as well because that things such a beast, it deserves to be called a cannon =D

  • my point exactly

  • LOL!!! .50 cal is for douches! 20mm is the way to go!

  • .50 has a higher muzzle velocity, better range, and more controllable recoil characteristics. 20mm is good for cannons etc, but is too impractical as a rifle round.

  • LOL! yeah, i know... i just like bigger bullets for maximum destruction! lol but still, i like things with more of a punch. (i hope no one replys saying... "like ur mom!") lol

  • like your mom! lol im kidding

this gun may be impractical, but damn, the wow factor of a round like that XD

  • Ya got that right! Ive always wanted a round that could let me say this: ".50 cal kills you, 20mm kills the hole convoy." :)

  • No, it doesn't. 20mm will go 2-3 miles flat, and can go 5-6 miles if you adjust your sights for longer range. Recoil is negligible all things considered; the rifle weights 116 pounds empty.

    What's the 50's velocity? I know the 20 is around 3k fps.

  • OK if you want something killed the .50 caliber round is 12.7x99 and this 20mm is 20x110. so honestally whats the fucking point when it only takes 12.7 to destroy a tank or something. and it only takes nohting but a .22 to kill someone. completely pointless. like a desert eagle, it defeats the purpose of a pisol by being big and clumsy. :-/

  • Because it's a fucking 20mm semi automatic rifle with a huge effective range.

Big and clumsy? That's why god invented pintle mounts.

  • because u want the security in knowing u killed that tank or u took out the building the snipers were in my point is its the feeling

  • The Lahti cartridge as used in the clip is the 20x138B. An earlier version used a 20x113mm I dont recall the muzzle energy of the U.S. 20x110, but its far less than the Lahti Cartridge, which is 40,000ft-lbs.

  • haha imagin a 20mm handgun....'BOOM'.."aww shit there goes my arm"

  • recoiless!

  • Excellent!

  • Excellent !!!

  • No problem.I live in Canada, but grew up in Philadelphia and the Police there are losing the war on city violence and I just stated that the weapon used in this vid would be helpful in helping them combat there realities.wtfwjd?

  • you ignorant bastard...youll get it up the ass in the end

  • MESSAGE TO MUSLIMHUNTER: Perfect for Iraq? How about perfect for NORTH PHILLY!

  • Lol. Which party started the War in Iraq? Iraq? Guess not. It was America who started, with a crap of a reason, just to say.

  • Keep cool. We are neutral, we don't have to fight terrorism. In general, we don't support a land just to invade it some years later, as you did with the Afgahns or the Iraqi. And if America would seriously fight against terrorism, for example by finding and killing Bin Laden, we would have much less problems.

And now don't tell me that America is the heroic Superman-like fighter against the baaaaad terrorism, your government also tried to make a pact with Hitler in WWII. Just an example.

  • NeoZunami, Hitler was a genius as well as a saint compared to say, Stalin or 1800's America. Stalin killed 30-50 million of his own people, and we all know what we did to the Native Americans.

Hitler killed 12 million people AT MOST in his camps. Plus, he didn't drive his nation into a depression (Like modern politicians of both sides).

I can't wait for the rebellion that'll occur during Obama's reign. Then we'll make the Fascist States of America.

Fascism will prevail over petty democracy.

  • Funny, but since the liberal left socialists that will be fighting on one side of this so-called rebellion are the anti gun crowd...how exactly are they going to fight a well armed, well motivated right wing conservative army? If you say that the government is going to supply and train a bunch of tree hugging hippies and create an effective force you are living in a dream world. If you think the military will back it you're REALLY dreaming. Racial meltdown will happen before any rebellion.

  • No Obama well prevail it s the chinese we need to woryy about

  • If I'm stupid, how come I understand the English Language better than you?

And I agree Bush wasn't good. He was too much of a bureaucrat, and not nearly right-wing enough to lead America.

Furthermore, I can't wait to see if you're still worshiping Obama when the Chinese are marching all over your home.

  • umm...crap of a reason? we got bombed smarts. 911

  • Uh huh, Im sure a "terrrorist" insuregency can afford tanks. You tool :P

  • Where'd You get this Finnish Cannon?

  • Barret has made a 25mm anti-material rifle. They say "anti-material". But you know they are going to snipe with it.

  • That AT rifle weights approximately 50 kg and shoots the 20 x138 mm Solothurn long.

  • where is this video shot at? nor cal?

  • Alabama
