  • he sounds condescending

  • The only phrase he should be saying is "hello, welcome to verizon wireless customer service, my name is bobby, how may i be of assistance today?'

  • he shud've gone to medical school when he had the chance (harvard medical school invited him!)

  • This guy has zero charisma. What an uninteresting bore. His speechcraft needs so much work.

  • @witchhunter84 yeah, I had a hard time making myself listen to the whole speech. condescending and painfully uninteresting.

  • I can spell "plastic." Can Bobby?

  • @beta447 where does he say plastic

  • This guy is such a fucking faker - I love his fake twang. He really wishes he was white, which is why he tries twice as hard.

  • He really thinks he will make it. Not a chance

  • Gimme $3.00 gas own numba 4 and a pack of now or laters

  • this guy is a JOKE

  • @2:11 He said post Katrina what he touted post BP oilspill.

  • mr. jindal....you haven't a clue. though, you and s. palin would make an amazing ticket n possibly succeed in 'american politics' (you could capture the mindless american's of today). go well in your pursuit of a hapless american society (armed to the tooth w/ nukes...unbelievable) may god help us all. nothing good can come of most politicians today. they operate within a corrupt system and are unable to create change. citizens of the world deserve better than what this scourge offers society.

  • Is that guy as stupid as he comes off being or did his speech writers make it so that their ignorant base could comprehend some of what he was saying?

  • Governor Jindal, How dare you talk to me as if i'm as retarded as your speech writers and advisers.

  • This guy is an idiot.

  • He's young and hasn't had the teleprompter training of Obama. He's been too busy doing great things in Louisiana unlike our favorite community organizer.

  • Why does he sound so folksy? He didn't sound like this the first time I heard of him during the last hurricane crisis.

  • After i heard Obama speeches i guess that man who trying to duplicate Obama but he fails republican are the cause of what are we in now Obama did a lot to slow down the depression

  • obama has made this country now in 3 trillion in debt, no jobs yet still going to the illegals, wants to socialize our country, hes better off going to venzuela and joining hugo, by the time 2012 comes we will be in trillions of debt all the time spending, when will he stop the blame game and take responsibility typical of him always blaming blaming.

  • Hey Jindal, I'm Indian just like you , but I will never vote for an idiot like you

  • hahaha, so true...he is a disappointment to the Indian community

  • Let's just remember that Jindal is substantive and Obama is politically smart but doesn't have the best in mind for our country.

  • Three words for you:

    Mount Redoubt eruption

  • Two words for you... hope, change?

  • Better than "Fear and Hate"

  • More like, "hate and Chains"

  • "The eyes are windows to the soul."

  • Look at this evil Republican motherfucker!!! HAHAHAHAHA There is something sadistic about the pleasure Republicans take in fucking the American people. It dances around in their eyes. REMEMBER: The eyes NEVER LIE!

  • republicans suck. u lost the election. its ridiculous that they want to deregulate. and this video is hilarious

  • I keep reading the same thing over and over again here. "He saved the state from the disaster the Democrats left". And of you want to, I don't know, actually point out some of the things he did rather than make blanket statements?

  • I have hope in the people of Louisiana and the turnaround they are seeing in their state. Reps haven't lost faith in Jindal. It is the Dems that prevaricate this myth. Obama will be president with a left wing media touting his accomplishments and making the best of every story. Jindal will be governor bringing hope and change to the mess left by Dems.

  • If speeches were all that we needed to make America great, I guess Obama would be a superstar president. Too bad it's taken men and women with substance and values to make this country great. With those qualifications, Jindal is way above Obama's league.

  • I haven't the time to debate what Jindal might do in the future. He's a governor and Obama is the president. I suggest you strengthen those Republicans who lost faith in Jindal's chances four years from now after this non-stellar performance. You're not going to get much positive from me about Jindal because of the political party he's affiliated with. Much of the GOP ideology is contrary to mines.

  • Right that's why Jindal has taken more federal money for Louisiana than any other state, while advocating fiscal responsibility. Great qualifications!

  • He is exactly what Louisiana needed after the corruption of the Dem party had destroyed the state for 50 years. Regardless of political affiliation, he is the right person for Washington DC.

  • Thanks for your opinon of Jindal but he will never be president. This speech was a flop.

  • Don't judge him purely based on this speech - after all, he's got plenty of time to redeem himself before 2012, and potentially 2016, since I think Obama will probably retain is teflon quality in the next election. That said, this speech is long on rhetoric, short on substance, and stylistically reprehensible.

  • Yeah, when he was in the House, he had the most earmarks of any LA representative - he's a hypocrite.

  • Your party is the poster child for hypocrite. You can't see the light. But New Orleans has seen it and it won't go back to the darkness any time soon.

  • Right, is that why Jindal only one bc ALL of Katrina Victims were displaced??? Hmmm.. Not to mention how much in BILLIONS of federal aid as New Orleans gotten under Jindal and it still looks like a shithole nearly 4 years later? That's what happens under a Republican governor.

  • Are you talking about the Katrina victims who were left for dead by the Dem politicians that had lined their refrigerators with money?

  • No I'm talking about how FEMA during a natural disaster couldn't get people out like they were supposed to hence leaving them for dead. Using Katrina as an example of government incompetence when it was a REPUBLICAN in the White House who declared New Orleans, a natural disaster area. Jindal should have been smarter to realize that Katrina is the Republicans' Achilles' heel. If this is the best Republicans have be prepared for 8 years of Obama.

  • FEMA doesn't get people out during a disaster or build better levies. You can't get it through your head that they were left for dead by their Dem politicians who should have had a plan and a clue. Instead, they were taken care of like Obama will take care of all of us soon.

  • Bobby Jindal has saved the Louisiana people from the disaster the Dems left them with. Please come to Washington DC Governor Jindal. We need you desperately!

  • He's not the right package and is in the wrong political party.

  • this guy gives me the major creeps.

  • this guy is a shit speaker. he sounds like a guy selling blenders on the tv shopping network

  • Repugs deserve DEATH.

  • FINALLY!!!!! someone who understands thar republicans destroyed the world economy, civil liberties, and the American way of life.

DEATH TO REPUBLICANS. HANG BUSH AND CHENEY BY THEIR NECK UNTIL THEY ARE DEAD AND LEAVE THEM FOR BUZZARDS TO EAT.

  • Indeed. Additionally they need to have their tiny testicles (as is the case with most repugs) electrocuted.

  • It's like listening to a kiosk at a museum

  • He looks and sounds like one of those creepy animations on YouTube with the PC speech and fake moving lips.

  • "America can do anything"

Why, why can't we ship this moron back to India. Maybe he can help the Slumdog kids build a new shanty.

  • HAHAHAHAHA Wow man this is Sad LOL. the G.O.P. is finished

  • Wrong choice for the job ... need a strong character with a dominant apperance and voice ..

    This guy is a joke

  • And so... along comes Rush Limbaugh - the hypocrite's hypocrite.

  • Very plain and simplistic, almost Jimmy Carter style. To those betting on the 97% safe vote from African Americans for a repeat ticket, be ready to work as hard or harder than in 2008. Any failure to restore or create jobs for black workers may result in them not to show up at the polls. Even if you pin the blame on the republican party. A simple man with power, like Jindall, attracts poor people with simple goals: give us a job with a paycheck.

  • he sounds like hes doing an infomercial

  • jindal's such a fucking tool. here's a phrase jindal should practice: "thank-you, come again!"

  • BHHaaaaaaahahahahahaha....you're a racist fuck, but that was pretty funny

  • @pandapanda84 Okay, listen man... I don't like Jindal either... But what you have written here is extremely racist... And I don't know why people are not saying anything to you.

  • @pandapanda84 oh wow, not only are you an ignorant racist, but you're also incredibly trite. thank-you, come again.

  • That delivery might have worked if his audience were a classroom of 5th graders.

And he is the "rising star"???

  • The speech isnt a great one... but He will be the president within the next 20 years. Can almost gaurantee it. Before commenting on him, do a little research on his background and eduction. He is one of the most non-corrupt people in politics today. He turned down being VP nominee this year because he wanted to help out New Orleans more. Good person whether you agree with his politics or not.

  • To project that Jindal will be president within the next 20 years is being hasty. You're assuming that all things will remain as they are. I assure you, there will be a host of new personalities on the scene over the next two years who will trump Jindal, no matter how brilliant he is or appears to be.

This speech will be remembered and it was very lackluster.

He didn't go for VP because McCain had no chance of winning and he himself was to inexperienced.

  • drevilb: 'almost' doesn't cut it. This guy will fail, honest or not.

  • Silberdachs: Watch. You will see him in the white house. I am glad that you are so sure he will fail. That is the type of optimism this country needs. If someone has good intentions, why wouldnt you want him to succeed? Isnt that the democrat arguement right now? Even if you completely disagree to how people are going about 'change'? Apparently if you disagree, then you just dont want the country to succeed. What I dont like is spending my grandchildrens money to study field mice.

  • Jindal in the white house? He hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell.

"What I dont like is spending my grandchildrens money to study field mice."

So, you've got no problem when it comes to giving it to criminally incompetent bankers, or using it to kill foreigners, but when it comes to field mice you draw the line?

    Unbelievable!

  • You are right. I am for giving all my money to bankers and terorists. I mean... really? Unless you didnt pay taxes, apparently you were for those things to as you paid for them. However, The current topic was the economic recovery and the items in there. Plus the new entitelment budget that we cannot afford. Regarless of your party, if you truely got off of partisan politics and were honest, I am sure that you would see that it is irresponsible what we are doing.

  • It just feels like all we are saying is... Lets just keep shelling out money...your money. Your kids money... for a false sense of recovery. Unfortunately, field mice is just one out of many things that are rediculous and was used as an example, not as a whole.

If you dont believe in the things that I do, thats fine, but portraying someone you havent met in the light that you are trying to do, to make your point look good, is what is 'Incredible!'

    Anyway. I'm moving on.

  • drevilb: Ironic as it may seem, I agree with you. Although I admire Obama for what he's achieved, this stimulus is a disaster. It's like pouring gasolene on an oil depot fire. Truth is, the damage has already been done. It's too late. We've already stepped off the cliff & hit the rocks below. Over the next 2-3 years we'll all be feeling the pain of the impact. It is utterly immoral to mortgage our kids & grandkids to pay for the greed & corruption of Wall St. et al. They will never forgive us.

  • It feels just like a blank check for pet projects and corrupt politicians...of both sides. It makes me sick. The only response of how to pay for it is to 'Tax the wealthier' americans. While I dont fall in that group, I hope to some day. I just wish we were cutting spending and waste, then restructuring our 'oversight' groups, that are just as much to blame as everyone. Im sick to my stomach over it.

  • I sympathize with your feelings, I really do. Taxing the wealthier is not going to be enough to dig the USA out of this almighty mess. We are entering a worldwide depression & the USA is now the biggest debtor nation on earth. It's wealth is an illusion. It will evaporate rapidly when the $ crashes & the foreign creditors demand hard assets in payment. I wish I could be optimistic about the USA's future but the fundamentals are a complete nightmare. I wish you good luck in the dark days ahead.

  • He thinks that volcano monitoring is a waste of money? This moron was apparently living under a rock when Mount St. Helens went off!.......(I bet he flunked science class in school).......Hey, I thought Mister Rogers died a few years ago!

  • I like and support Bobby, but why does he speak in such an ironic or condescending manner?

  • Repugs are still obsessed with getting the Idiot Vote despite the fact that Obama won by talking to people like they had common sense

  • Holy, he sounds like he's joking. Hmm, the GOP is seriously screwed if this is their answer to Obama.

  • The GOP is not going with Jindal. Mitt Romney will be in the game in 2012 and likely to have an African American female on the ticket with him. The GOP's task is to shatter Obama's base which is the 97% African American support. This "97 Factor" assures 44% white and 66% of other which is a landslide victory for Obama. This is why Michael Steele is now heads the RNC.

  • i am insulted when he speaks, as if im some sort of idiot little kid

  • I wish his dad missed a payment LOL

  • Americans can do anything! Unfortunately, Bobby can't seem to shut up... guess we can't do anything.... LOL. How old is Bobby? His speech seemed like it was written by a 5 year old and bunnies drawn on the side. Its fucking hilarious. I was sitting at home and when he began to speak, I almost chocked on my popcorn. Great show! BTW the story about the sheriff is NOT true. LOL

  • Bobby is hilarious. I put this on before going to be. He is talking like he is reading bed time stories to 5 year olds. The republican party are in so much shit. And I love to watch Bobby screw it over. bahahahaha!

  • hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahah i love this man

  • I had to stop it, I was getting angry with being talked to like a five year old. this is not going to help the Republican party.

  • This guy looks and sounds so fake I thought it was a doll for the first 2 minutes.

  • GOP is evaporating before our eyes

    Hilarious

  • jindal really does not know what hes talking about

  • Republican dogma has been run out of the mainstream

  • Why was he talking as if he was talking to a deaf, four- year old? And providing a biography of himself???

Republicans had to make one who was not in congress to do this response....how sad..

  • His walk up to the podium was SO SCARY!

  • so the US government shouldn't help its citizens out, but should help Iraq and its citizens...WTF????

  • Jindal, Louisianna has some of the worst test scores in all of the US, poor cities, and crappy jobs and housing.

  • You jerk Republicans spent money on things we don't need. Now Democrats are spending it on things we do.

You idiots don't deserve to have children or to be citizens.

Go smell your fingers and sit and spin.

  • Both parties spend money on things we don't need. They have far more in common than people realize. Different piles, same stink. And why would you suggest someone shouldn't be a citizen or have children? Merely disagreement?

Oh yeah, this delivery from Bushclone Jindal was cartoonish. I'm a conservative (not Republican, there is a difference) who dislikes this guy.

  • this guy is a total hypocrite

  • We should stop electing morons like Jindal into public office.

    Any one recall Bush????

Its not repeat the same nightmares.

  • Mardi Gras??????.....Dude, this PARTY IS OVER!!!

  • Jindal fails

  • poor republicans think jindal can save them.....

but clearly jindal is no match for obama

  • He lied about that incident in the Sherrif's Office during the Katrina Hurricane. Only a Religious MOFO GOP can do this with a straight face.

Jindal Admits Katrina Story Was False.

  • i'm gonna puke! The REPUBLICANS aren't fooling anybody! Stop parading these DARKIES around, Shave your heads, Put on your hoods and stop the B.S.!!!

  • Slumdog Millionaire?

  • Enough with the slumdog millionaire remarks he's just Bobby Jindal.

  • I'm a conservative and my politics are probably closer to Jindal's than President Obama. But what a total geek this guy is. The material is fine, but voice and appearance are enormously important on TV.

Get lessons, Governor, or let someone else be the party spokesman.

  • The material was NOT fine - stale platitudes that ignore the very REAL problems with the budget.

If you're looking for substance AND style to fight Obama, look to Gingrich.

  • I hope he will replace Obama four years from now

  • Not even a remote chance of Jindal replacing Obama.

  • Thank all of you for your comments. There is a clear concensus with the comments. It is very clear that Bobby Jindal is not the Republicans' answer now or in 2012 to President Barack Obama.

Look to the Republicans to try a Mitt Romney or a dark horse young white male with someone like or similar to a Frances Rice in 2012 as their presidential ticket. Even so, it would be a landslide victory for Obama of epic proportions.

  • I'm not the biggest fan of the gov, but the reality is that under the current conditions it's the only entity big enough to do something. Complete lack of regulation, greed and a miserable failure of our esteemed financial institutions to do their job is what got us to this point. Republican idea of doing nothing and hoping that this blows over and works itself out is ridiculous. This rebuttal is an epic fail.

  • I also can't even believe he mentions Katrina debacle as an example of government not working well. The reason it was such a disaster is because the guy in charge, Brown, was an incompetent moron who had no idea what he was doing and cared more about his dinner reservations then all the people dying (read his emails). Brown was a product of Bush's policy to hire people based on the fact that they were his buddies rather then those who were best qualified.

  • Comment removed

  • Republicans were in kontrol during katrina how can he bitch about govt, what a fucking tool

  • Actually, disaster has ALWAYS been a matter of local and state municipalities. Only since Katrina has the demand come for Federal control of disaster relief.

And Democrats like Ray Nagan and Kathleen Blanco were charged with helping people leave the city and receive help after the hurricane. GWB wasn't responsible for the hundreds of empty school buses that could've been used to get people out. Ray Nagan was.

Don't be such a useful idiot. Knee-jerk reactions expose foolishness.

  • That is not true. FEMA during the Clinton administration quickly and efficiently handled many disasters.

  • Brown, Bush's completely incompetent moron buddy was in charge of FEMA at the time so let's not twist things because it's convenient for you. Read Brown's emails and you'll see just what a complete a-hole he was. Giving FEMA as an example of gov not working is unbelievable disingenuous because of Bush's policy to appoint his friends rather than qualified individuals. Obama has shown an entirely different, intelligent approach to appointing gov officials. He appoints those who actually qualify.

  • Hah, I'm not defending Brown. I don't believe the federal government should have even tried.

    1. Fed cannot know the local resources and organization

    2. Fed cannot properly stage the effort

    3. Fed cannot possibly deploy resources anywhere in the nation fast enough

Emergency management is first and foremost a local concern. Look at every disaster where relief was handled locally and you'll see it is always more efficient.

Obama hasn't appointed friends... just tax cheats and Marxists......

  • Black solidarity? It's great to see that people are still fixated on the color of people's skin. What a shallow world we live in. Nevermind the fact that Jindal's skin is also quite dark. Doesn't that matter to you?

  • As a god fearing, backward-assed republican I have a plan: we combine the two greatest things on the planet: (1) Holy water from God and; (2) electrolytes. No one could stop us then. Not even some fast talking, godless commie librul who talks like a fag and sheeits all retarded.

  • Jindal can't pronounce President... sounds like "prezzint." I watched 2 minutes and not a hit of rebuttal, but the Jindal family story.

Maybe the lesson of Katrina is that Republicans screwed it up royally.

  • Check my reply to ridaq. It applies to you too.

  • So glad he is taking major blows from various people for his not so great speech. Republicans' values need to be re-examined and their ideals should conform the reality.

  • Really? No examples? No demonstrations?

People are not slaves to government.

Therefore they may keep what they produce and trade as they see fit.

This incentive drives innovation, production, and commerce.

That's how we have this incredible standard of living. The invisible hand acting on people who help their fellow man, through no part of their intention.

To attack these truly basic and axiomatic principles is idiotic. Has the Rep party held to them? Nope. Every time they drift they lose.

  • JINDAL/PALIN 2012!!!!!

    LOL!

  • Wanda is clearly NOT a conservative or a thinker. Only a lib would be so disingenuous to make race or skin color an issue. I know of no real conservative thinker that uses race as a metric for achievement. The liberals use race and identity politics to keep them in power. Wake up, America!

  • YIKES!!! This painful to watch.

    Jindal/Palin 2012! :-D

  • I don't want no dark-skinned muslim man as a member of my beloved Republican Party, much less a GOP leeder!

We are a Christian party. if you're a muslim or jew or godless atheist/agnostic, WE DON'T WANT YOU IN OUR REPUBLICAN PARTY! Get out!

  • Good job there. Your superior intelligence clearly shines in the way you can't spell to save your life. We should all hope we get a leader such as you with your morals of tolerance (just like Jesus preached, eh?)

  • he's catholic you dumbass.

    And an Indian American.

So much for not judging someone by the color of the skin..

  • wtf is going on with the GOP? they put a fucking terrorist up there to respond? god we are in deep shit, they are now outsourcing governors to pakistan?

  • HI!

    My name is , [whaaa?],

    My name is, [miiiike],

    slimshady

    excuse me,

can I have the attention of the class for 1 second.

    Hi kids.....do you like Bobby?

I think we need to operate.

    [apologies to eminem]

  • Jindal himself is pretty brilliant and articulate...... off-the-cuff.

I do however imagine "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" music playing behind his stories, though. Bobby, I am not six years old...

Shame how people with good ideas appear so clueless in the wrong venue.

  • He is worthless....OMG!

  • And this guy thinks he has a chance to become prez in '12?

  • Dude, if his speaking quality is the only thing ya'll can think of to pick on, then I'd say he did a pretty good job.

  • No, his content was awful, too. No new ideas. Just the same old mantra of "tax cuts" that got us here to begin with. I truly hope the Reps run a Jindal/Palin ticket in 2012. That will be my dream team.

  • And the Democrats *don't* repeat the same ideas?

And it wasn't tax cuts that got us here.

  • Actually, we've heard a lot of new ideas from Obama. And I'm not sure how you can conclude that the combination of tax cuts for the wealthy and the war in Iraq had nothing to do with the economic disaster we find ourselves in.

  • nannerpuss could've given a better speech than this asshat.

  • Dude talks remarkably like those dictors I've listened to who teach proper English pronunciation. Overly sugary and formal. I could almost hear him say "How do you do? Repeat please. How do you do?"

  • Man talk about the fakest, corniest, most awkward politician known to man.

  • thanks for the bedtime story, Jindal

  • Americans are SO great, us brown people just have to STAND IN AWE of them!

    lol.

  • LMAO this is the best the Republicans can come up with? Obama's black but wait... we have an INDIAN!!!

    LMAO what a pathetic party

  • He's talking that way because, as most of the comments on this board indicate, most people in this country don't act like they have any sense!

  • Bobby Jindal is just a simple hyper-chicken from a backwards asteroid.

  • Best comment ever.

  • yeah, Jindal sounds like he's talking to very young people.

  • I mean, he sounds like a frigging childrens' story teller...

  • oh my God, there are commedians who use this voice for dry humour....he sounds like an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • Why does he keep calling The President "The Present?"

  • "Americans can do anything." (Sounding like a 1st grade teacher). Not presidential type. This guy is a joke. There goes his presidential aspiration.

  • This guy makes my lips curl. If he expects to lead the republican party he better quit talking like a kindergarten teacher.

  • What Governor Jindal does not detail in his rebutal is the fact that Louisiana's largest state-run charity hospital, LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, LA, was handed a $37M budget cut this year. Keep in mind that it has the only level 1 trauma center in the state since Katrina hit. LA actually runs a transport system to bring LVL 1 traumas from other parts of the state here! Higher education is taking a massive hit as well, with the LSU collegiate system being cut by $29M this year.

  • afire--I just watched the stupid expression on the face of the Governor or Louisiana. Did you catch it?

As a teacher, I can accept that students may not know something, that's why they are in school, to learn.

Can you not see what a jerk this guy is? If not, then it can be explained by the simple fact that you must need remedial education too. What a complete joke! Thank goodness. ENOUGH of the REPUBLICAN LIARS.

  • WTF is this?! Reading FREAKING Rainbow?!!

  • Another stupid, lying Republican. What a complete farce. What a joke this guy is. What an embarressment to the human race.

Thank the stars that the Republican brand is now revealed for what it really is. Corrupt, ignorant, arrogant, mean, stingy, out of touch, greedy, stupid, loathsome, antiAmerican, and finally, this guy--sheesh--what an absolute joke. republicans have been finished off. just in time to save the planet.

  • I don't know, Jindal is my boy. This all comes down to classic D/R arguement. I don't believe the gov't should monitor your volcanos, I think your state should. Obama's policies are dumb. Ever watch the expressions on the face of a democrat during an econ class? It's hilarious. On the supply/demand chart, there is no line representing feelings.

  • lol wut

  • He sounds like he's narrating a PBS kids' show.

  • Wow, just wow. It's as if he's taking my order at Disneyland.

  • I say, was part of Jindall's father's agreement with his doctor that if he fell behind on his payments, the child would be repossessed? It does rather sound like it, from what he just said...

  • {A dollar away from being homeless video, by Bathroom Minister} is what going on in your own state....please stay of tv and help us out in Louisiana watch the video Gov....

  • How idiotic is this guy? He is the governor of a state which relies upon the federal government to fund its levee system. However, he is against funding to study volcanoes, which have the potential to bury cities such as Seattle.

  • John, you're right on point. Good comparison.

  • As a resident of a state that has five active volcanoes, I'd like my government to continue monitoring them, thank you very much. The republicans made a huge mistake letting this guy be the response to Obama's first address to congress.

  • jindal palin 2012! awesome! republicunts again, wont stand a chance.

  • He'd be an excellent kindergarten teacher

  • which rights?

  • This is so condescending. It's like he thinks Americans are a bunch of kindergarteners

  • bobby jindall looked like the nightmare blind date coming out to horrify some poor young woman

  • Did Jindal go to Disney World tour guide camp for his speech training?

  • Perhaps the GOP uses the same oration coach for Palin and Jindal...

  • LO-fuckin-L Rahm and the rest of the Obamassholes are probably laughing thier ass off over this repub "answer" to the Obamameister!
