I want to be an industrial designer but I'm not sure where to start. I'm pretty good at art but I'm currently studying engineering. I really want to design for a living...any advice?
Can you use SBP to do the sketch and then transfer to ps5 to finish the render? I'm better in ps5 but it seems SBP is better for the sketch part with lines..
this SBP is from 2009 or 2011? i have a problems with my SBP 2011. when you painting rims how you move first layer of black and after paste on same place before?
@BELEVEIT1 tbh i suck at photoshop and gimp but this is much smoother and more accurate, skills definitely matter but this program is the professional type
Someone tell me please... I bought my Genius tablet G-Pen 4500 and it's fine, but it doesn't work a little bit well in Sketchbook Pro 2010/2011. When I try to draw something, it goes to the left side of the screen. Someone said that I need to change to the compatibility mode XP2, but I don't have this option at compatibility list. T_T Someone help me, please!
I love to draw cars, and I aspire to be a car designer one day. I'm really amazed and inspired by how people like you can design like this using sketchbooks and softwares. Me on the other hand, is confined to just pencil and paper :|
I have a question, Im new to sketchbook, and am trying to utilize the airbrush shading technique Ive seen used in yours and other sketchings... HOW do you get the erasing done on one layer, up to the lines on the under layers, and get them so smooth and precise? Is this just practice?? Im having a frustrating time, usually having to restart the airbrush when I accidentally overlap a line ( erase too much ) Im using an Intuos 4, not a Cintiq, so that might be part of it.. any advice?
@onedef1 I guess it's just practice, really, and a million undo's. When I was getting used to the workflow, I'd duplicate the airbrush layer before I started erasing, just in case I ruined it.
@heroemission Thats a good idea... hadnt thought of that. I think it would go a lot smoother with an on screen input, but Ill make do with what I have now. thank you!. Awesome demo, by the way. I love watching the wheel take form.
awesome man...very cool and I use to love listening to some older Boards of Canada as inspiration back when I did 3D work or digital sketch/matte. I think you might have inspired me to try to get back into it and maybe finally finish some projects that are half done....also watching this I almost forgot how close to God layers bring you when sketching digital as opposed to trad paper :)
@HiHimuffin There's an ellipse tool that you can draw over as a template instead of dropping down a solid stroke. I use this to develop some complex curves that need to be precise. It's a work around as there isn't a specific "curve" tool, but I like the workflow a lot. Good luck. (Hit E for the ellipse to pop up. it's in the lagoon too.)
Hi I have a question. I'm planning on buying this software, but I don't know whether this is meant to be used on a tablet or on Desktop/Laptop. I have a Macbook Pro and I was wondering whether it is enough to use the software effectively. When I mean effectively I mean without using a tablet...for now. I have an i7 2.66 GHz. If you are able to reply to my question when you have the time I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance
@Anime4lifeX7 The core i7 is way overkill for this program. a mac mini can run this just fine. Sketchbook pro is MADE to utilize a tablet. Whether that be a wired Wacom tablet or a tablet PC. Just look around on wacom.com for something that suites your needs. Right now SKP is on sale for around $30 on the mac app store. However if your a student, you can get it for free on students.autodesk.com! Hope this helps.
@miniteichman Ok thank you. Yeah I am a student but I ended up buying it >.< oh well it's still worth my $30. Not like i spent $300 o.O. Yeah I'll definitely look around the site and thanks again for your suggestion really helped.
I have a problem with SBP where i lose all precision when i zoom in, Like the brush strokes about 1cm away from the crosshair, I can't find anything online about it and as far as i can tell everything is set up properly pen wise.
Using SBP '10 and Wacom Bamboo pen and touch. Worked perfectly on XP and Vista, Just happens on Seven.
Amazing dude. Where did you learn how to do this with the tablet and where did you learn this program? Its my dream to do this stuff and im going to school soon for it. Great job...
i cant tell you how many times ive watched this video. i can draw anything on paper but learning this program and photoshop, illustrator etc. has been the hardest thing possible. Where did you learn how to do this with the tablet. Im going to school soon to become an industrial designer. I love this stuff. Please tell me where you learned it

@notcomputable If you go into the Preference window (Edit) click on the Brush tab. You should be able to turn on the Brush Cross-hair so that you can see where the cursor is. I hope that's what you were asking.
Hi.. I have lost my colour pallete in sketchbook pro..It doesnt come up when i select the colours editor either.. does anyone knw how to get it back.??? please reply ASAP.. :(
@kamz07980 Trying hitting Tab or T. If you've been adjusting multiple displays, try reverting back to a clone set up and restarting SBP. If that doesn't work, you can rest your preferences under the Lagoon tab. Make sure you export all your custom brushes before doing that though.

honestly guys... this man is an industrial designer... of course he is not working in professional graphic software with a mouse... and also Valdezmj, you want to use a program someone spent moeny, time and sweat developing? Then pay for it...
