please understand kids, Derrick Rose, Rusell Westbrook, Brandon Jennings, John wall and some other players in the point guard position are not point guards. They don't get the entire team involved in the offense, rarely give their teammates great open looks and are way too inefficient. Guys like Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Ricky Rubio, Chauncey Billups and to an extent Rajon Rondo are real pass first point guards.

And please back it up when the season is actually finished as Chris Paul and D-Will managed to get double double SEASONS running the offense for their teams respectively. D-Will made Boozer and his teammates better. Chris Paul made Tyson Chandler, David west and his teammates better. D-Rose just attracts double teams as a slasher so getting the ball to his open teammates with no defender is a no brainer.

Chris Paul, best PG in the league. Not fast, not athletic... but quick. "Quick can't be caught". Quick crossover, quick teardrop, quick dish... no turnovers, consistent leader in steals and assists, makes his teammates better, and the smallest guy on the court. No ring, but deserves the respect.

Playing the same position, but D-Rose uses his speed to slash and drive to the basket, either an athletic score or kick out to a shooter. In addition, Rose does have Boozer for the extra help on offense. Chris Paul doesn't have that scorer's mentality. He involves his team first, but executes the right play reading the defense. CP isn't as fast or athletic as Rose, but he uses his strengths on the pick and roll game.

@justineheartsmac efficiency is the word you are seeking. Every pass first point guard HAS to be efficient to involve themselves and their teammates at the same time in the offense. Rose isn't even a point guard. He relies too much on his speed to create openings by going inside and drawing defenders to him. Deron Williams used boozer in the pick and roll much more efficiently as he also gave Booze lotsa great open looks. 11apg as oppose to a measly 8apg with rose and the cast he's around with.
