  • Atari ShiT

  • 92 Atarifags watched this.

  • Guys relax, the Amiga vs Atari ST fight was alwas a friendly fight, the guys that made this were just kidding and same goes for the ST guys who made Anti Amiga Demo's,

And the War is now 16 years over whats the point ? this video is just here for nostalgia reasons, I had a Amiga (still have it :)) and my best friend had a Atari ST, he always said that the Amiga was for little girls because of the name and the Raster bars while I called his ST the "Atardri ShiT" or "Failcon", good times... :)

  • Ya hear that? Four channels of stereo, digitised sound. No stupid plinky AY chip!

  • 3 people are ST-fans and 86 don't get whut this vid is about ;-)

  • Funny :)

  • @m134mr yes mate your exactly right

  • Amiga is for gays becouse Amiga can show all rainbow colors.

  • @Tupernaattis typical thing a stupid atari user would say, nothing computer related just plain idiotic and pointless like an ST which cant multi task

  • der käse unter den computern = the cheese of all computers

  • Atari ST was a good cheap entry to the 16 bit world of Computers. If you liked your Spectrum and defend the honour of that, the this is similar. You can use Atari ST for word processing and practical things too. Many good games for the system, too, you would have fun playing those too. Amiga had better sound and graphics for many games after 1989, great - but so what - really.

  • the ST was great (and still is) for midi and fuck all else, end of.

  • XD Die Grabenkämpfe sind vorbei. Gewonnen hat wohl keiner...obwohl, doch: Meckersoft. ;)

  • Very crappy demo,music also

  • I fail to see the hate for Atari.

After all, the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga are intertwined in their histories, as are the companies.

  • urywało dupę 15 lat temu :)

  • uh well yes, no I mean I'm confused wtf is this O_O

  • Can someone translate this ?

My greman ist the greatest .

  • LAWL

  • The Amiga was more powerful in the graphics and sound sampling department. The OS was amazing and offered multitasking way before any other mainstream machine. The Atari ST on the other hand had a bulit-in MIDI port which made it more interesting for music studios where it found a niche for years even after Atari went bust in 1993.

  • @aceyage lol amiga os was garbage. sampling you mean dma sound something that later atari ste models had at 50 KHz you mean? probably beats your sound card you have now on you pc

  • @zarkoasenov EXEC + Trip OS > CP/M 68k + GEM, look it up!

  • St fanboys get a life.there was no st demoscene coz it was shite.

  • There was even a fanboy war going on back then between these 2 computers.amiga ruled though.that st's sound chip was a beepy piece of shit compared to the mighty paula.

  • Comment removed

  • @71JOEBLOGGS i'm sure the st had the yamaha sound chip that the amstrad cpc computers had!

  • @71JOEBLOGGS

Paula is now living on a council estate with six chav children, and her waistline is starting to rival the size of the house.

  • There was a similar song for amiga made by polish musicians. There were few talking samples among which one sound like this (an interviewer asks man on the street in polish ofc):

    - Good afternoon, sir. What do you think about Atari?

    - Atari? Sorry, I'm not a farmer :)

and many more acids like this

  • I love "fuckings"

  • Amiga forever!

  • Man the Amiga is awesome. ST trolls get on your fuckin knees to the greatness of Amiga.

  • @TheTubeRuler2009

No need because I also have a Falcon 030 ;-) Get on YOUR knees Amiga troll! :-D

  • @EgoShredder The Falcon sucks ass. Too little, too late.

  • amiga pwnz

  • the amiga was great computer, designed by the same peaple was designed the Atari 8 Bits Family. by the other side the Atari ST was designed by ex-commodore peaple.

  • i miss the good old amiga times as well :(

  • ...me too...

    :)

  • amiga, commodore, atari forever..

  • AHTAWLEH

  • Gibts das eigentloich noch irgendwo als MOD oder XM ? ;)

  • can anyone remember the anti atari demo/game for the amiga that was like space invaders ?

I wonder if atari users had a similar anti amiga campaign.

  • Ach ja, die peinlichen Compikriege der 80er und frühen 90er ... die vermisse ich bestimmt nicht.

  • LOL these are ossies (from east germany) ... what morrons

  • you are all a bnuch of morons

  • Comment removed

  • man wtf i dont even want to talk about this crap ATARI REIGNED AMIGA. the ST sucked alright but the TT and Mega STE were STANDART equipment in any DTP or music studio.

  • Comment removed

  • lol, no standard equpment in a recording studio is a microphone.

  • Why you getting all emotional, the Amiga Vs ST days are long gone and there isn't much point in worrying about it anymore. It was a great time in computing regardless of which machine was better for what :)

  • Great drum track!!! It's genius! SHows how creative the authors were

  • Wrong...

    It's not over until it's over ...

  • "its not over until it's over"

    its clearly over....

  • @toddybody haha is right brother, retro all da way.

  • @toddybody think anyone will remember xbox in 20 years? lol

  • @artoodiitoo

    No way, dude :)

    C64/Amiga.....Legends never die. It´s a law, i think ...... :)

  • fuck you, troll

  • without things like the amiga you wouldn't have an xbox to play on today.

  • @seancooley can you program your own games ON an xbox? fuck no

  • @seancooley ...an xbox??....u mean PS3....xbox sounds like a vacuum cleaner!!

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • It's very clear that no effort or creativity was used to make this "demo". The music track is incredibly lame and obviously only made to annoy Atari people. Very bad demonstration of the capabilities of Amiga.

  • amiga forever! funny to hear a burp from 20 years ago.

  • AMIGA FOR THE WIN

  • The graphics are just dazzling in this demo! You really gave those Atari people what for!

  • I had an ST back at the jurassic period...

  • The Amiga had realtime 4-channel digital audio at a sample rate which could be pushed pretty high (about 30khz) with the right sampling cart. The Amiga tracking software was light-years ahead used effectivly.

Atari was seen as the music machine BUT it was largly for MIDI composors which meant buying all the hardware (drum machines, keyboards, samplers) to be driven. If you were rich, then Atari rocked. But nothing at consumer level matched the Amiga for out-of-the-box. (amiga forever!!)

  • Aye, this old thing...

My first computer (Well, was an Apple II, but)...ahem, the first computer that was MINE-mine, and not anyone else's, was an Amiga 1000 my dad gave me when I was 5. Aside from that...I now have an ST and an STe, with 4MB RAM each, and two Amigas, a 2000HD, and a 500. They both have their weaknesses and strengths. ST boots in a snap. Amiga takes longer to boot, requires a floppy to boot.

    But in the end...

    Amigas had better hardware.

    Atari STs had better programmers.

  • And what were you using? A TRS-80?

  • No. It was worse. That poor retard r8qt7 paid $6000 for a 386, to only do the 1/5 of what the Amiga was capable of.

  • So i guess you are using Linux then?

  • most of time time I use Linux only for gaming and proprietary stuff I need to run win 7 (which isn't that bad compared to Vista ^^).

  • Yeah you are pretty much in the same boat as me except that i use XP and i don't play games anymore.

  • well I used win xp - still a good windows but it doesn't support my 8 gbyte ram and the win xp64bit version lacks somehow of drivers.

Anyway, I'm not an OS nazi anymore. Windows works fine for a lot of things but Linux is more free and you can adjust everything you want. And it's free ... so what do you want more (well games and stuff okay ;).

  • Yeah a friend of mine has about 8 gig of ram in his system as well so as you did, he also had to install Vista for that very reason so that is completely understandable :)

And yeah, i have given up on the this OS is better than that OS debacle. I still don't like Microsoft, never have and probably never will, but there is no point arguing about it unless it truly becomes a problem for you.

Linux is nice, a bitch to use at times but nice because its free, so yep we agree :)

  • And i still like games, i just don't have a powerful enough system (2003 specs) plus i don't have the time anyway :(

  • OMG the original song "against" the amiga was much better and funnier. this song is pure bullshit and has no style: no originality, bad copy, no fun - a disgrace 2 the "scene"

  • Erm, but you do know that the "anti-Amiga song" was an anti-PC song done on Amiga before it was modified?

  • amiga rules! no doubt, and you all know it..

  • I wonder if Atari are ever going to revive their console gaming systems since the days of the 2600 ?

  • LOL 5/5

  • Man, I used to get really into these ST/Amiga arguments when I was a kid. I had an ST and thought it looked cooler... there was just something about it.

Plus only rich kids had Amigas, as they cost 100 pounds (uk) more. And everyone knows that rich kids are never as cool as poor kids ;-)

The Amiga was better though, although I'd NEVER admit this at the time!

  • Comment removed

  • This the EXACTLY the difference between the ST and Amiga to me. The ST's were cheap. For the money in 1988, our choice was either one of the 8-bits, or the ST. It was the only 16 bit machine in our price range, and it was awesome. A lot of the Amiga kids were snotty little shits, there was almost a cultural gap between us, and I think that is why the war was so passionate and continues today.

  • Ah, so you were a fucking skint chav scumbag with no father. Makes sense. My parents were fucking loaded. We're getting to the truth now.

  • begone, Satan

  • lol Atari STE OWNed any amiga at that time .. and Falcon fcuking burried Amiga ... ATARI RULZ!

  • *sigh* another dirty illiterate ST troll. STE was too little, too late you unwashed gimp. And Falcon on ST sucked your mom's ass with it's shit sound & jerky graphics. I will simply refer you to Pacmania, Menace, Shadow of the Beast etc etc etc. Why don't you fire up your ST & have a game of Interceptor. Oh, wait.

  • Pacmania, Shadow of the Beast hehe.. I used to play SOTB between my Calamus and Chronos 3D sessions .. but playing crap games having Audio Sculpture, Notator isnt something I was doing on my STE Mega 2 very often .. Now go back to your Pacmania ..

fcuk I miss my Atari :(

Amiga was nothing more than a gaming console wannabe "home" computer ..

  • *sigh* you're simply a bitter & twisted ST troll bringing up the MIDI argument in order to position the cheap & nasty 'off the shelf' box of crap that was the ST. The STE was simply an ST with a cheap blitter that nobody used & the sound from a 1987 Casio keyboard. You brought up games as a defence, which was a bad move as you have proven with your inability to defend your position.. Amiga owned ANY ST on graphics & audio straight out the box. That, my unwashed friend, is a fact.

  • well said.

  • bless you, Amiga brethren.

  • heh Amiga was a pitiful excuse for a gaming console wanna be computer. If you wanted to do something serious you got yourself an Atari TT or an STE with Calamus, Lexicor, Cubase .. not a stinky aschmiga heh

Atari STE trackers owned Amiga as the STE had 50 KHz 16-bit stereo, with RCA outputs, compared to Amiga mono 22 KHz crap 8 bit nothing .. just check Audio Sculpture or Octalyzer .. lewsers ...

  • We didn't want to be serious, you fucking asshat, we wanted games - which your original defence was built on. I notice you conveniently left out the graphics - toast, anyone? You need to throw in the TT or STE to compete with a bog standard Amiga 500, and even then you're struggling. Then you drag up the MIDI interface again. Yawn. Sad ST lamer. At least you have the satisfaction that the STE was a great success. Oh, wait.

  • Sorry matey, the STE was still not upto par with the Amiga in regards to games.

    STE had 4 channel 8-bit 50Khz, the Falcon had 8 channel 16-bit 50Khz.

Had a Falcon for many years, wish I never sold it now. Totally blew the Amiga 500 & 1200 out of the water.

  • and I bet you enjoyed the 3 games that were released for it.

  • I never owned an STE so never got the play them.

  • you could mod the STE to 16 bit sound .. Audio Sculpture is a tracker that supported 16 bit 50 KHz stereo on the STE ..

it had the blitter chip, 4096 col pallete .. owned any amiga at that time

  • I know nothing about any 16-bit sound mod for the STE, or Audo Sculpture for that matter.

But I do know the STE did not own any Amiga at that time. It was a good upgrade over the STFM but still lacked a lot of what the Amiga had hardware wise.

  • What? STE and TT owned any Amiga at that time. I owned a 512 STFM, a STE and the MEGA 2 STE. Can you please be more specific and tell all of us what hardware exactly on the Amiga's were "better"? BTW Mega STE could to run at 16 MHz.

About 16 bit sound do a google on this "Atari STE 4 channel DMA sound, supports 16bit modification" and hit the first result

  • No wonder the Amiga guys have a field day when people like you come onto forums and post this sort of stuff.

    STE was lacking:-

Dedicated sound co-processor to take the load away from the CPU. 4 Channel DMA was only good for playing samples at set rates of 12.5, 25 & 50Khz...so no good for in game MOD playing.

Still officially only 16 colours at once unless tricks were employed.

No hardware sprites and a next to useless Blitter...

    I owned a STFM and Falcon030, I know what I'm talking about.

  • At last, the troll speaks the truth. The Amiga community welcomes you, brethren.

  • Troll? If you truly understood the use of that word in a 'forum' sense, you would clearly see it is you that has been the troll.

I've never spoken anything other than the truth in any of my posts and would rather kill myself than be associated with an argumentative, childish, vulgar, racist, coward like you. I've seen some of your other posts and have had people PM me with stories of your disgraceful threats of violence and words of hatred towards them and their families.

    Sad old man.

  • Another speedy response there, keyboard warrior! Daytime TV must be a bit boring today, eh? You and all your humourless 'friends' can bite me.

  • There has been nothing humorous about any of your posts you disgusting excuse of a person.

Just a shame Youtube are too lazy to facilitate a group of administrators to ban people like you who spoil it for the rest of us.

  • That would be convenient, wouldn't it. That way, illiterate fools like you could post your bullshit with impunity. Why don't you grow a pair, you winging pansy?

  • Well it would conveniently stop abusive people like yourself commenting on other peoples posts and dragging them into the gutter, due to the excessive use of bad language and violent threats.

Leaving the rest of us to debate in a grown up, adult way.

  • What, you mean like asking me if I feel safe behind my keyboard? You're a wanker and a hypocrite. Quite a combination.

  • No. I said 'you must feel pretty safe behind your keyboard'. Which insinuated that the only reason you were mouthing off was because you were sat in safety behind your keyboard and would have no intentions of speaking to someone the way you did, in real life.

Grasping at straws again I see.

Again I will state for the record. I haven't abused, threatened or used excessive profanity to anyone on here. UNLIKE YOU.

  • lol @ that comment ^ and what 'went on' here ...wow

Those who grew up with the Atari ST - good for them, i'm sure it was a great platform for them.

But I get/got the impression it lived in the shadow of the Amiga as a gaming platform ?

ok so it had better sound chip. but the amiga it seemed was ahead.

  • Ever heard of freedom of speech, asshole? If you can't stand the heat, don't compete. Obviously, you're still smarting from being fucking owned. Tough shit.

  • Of course I've heard of the freedom of speech. What a ridiculous question.

    Owned from what exactly?

  • you're a tool. that's the only detail you need.

  • @zarkoasenov Amiga mono sound and 22 khz AJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJ you dont have any idea what you re talking about.Amiga has stereo sound, ocs chip 28 khz ecs and aga 56 khz and 14 bit so, dont say stupid things, and you are comparing the ste and tt released in 1990 with the amiga 500(1987) , jajaja, how clever are you, but compare them to the amiga 3000 (1990) with ecs customchips and 68030 25 mgz , scsi controler , flicker fixer ,pffff ,you should think the things before you open your big mouth.

  • You are wrong about the STE specs.

    Blitter

    Hardware scrolling

    4096 Colours

    4 channel DMA Sound 8-bit 50Khz

    Enhanced Joypad ports

    SIMM Memory modules

    Just for future reference.

  • Ah, thanks for the clarification. Looks suspiciously like Atari was trying to upgrade the machine to get close to the original Amiga. And what a great success it was. Enhanced joypad ports? LOL, you ST freaks will grasp at anything.

  • The "enhanced joystick ports" were separate, analog ports for analog joysticks. There are mods to plug a PS2 controller in there, and the analog thumb controller works. It was quite a good feature, if it had been used by games it would have been cool.

  • They were used by games.

They were the same ports as on the Jaguar...so they supported the JagPad.

They could support a multitude of controller technology not just analog. They were a good addition but unfortunatley never taken advantage of by commercial software houses.

  • Not grasping at anything. Just stating the factual differences between the STFM and the STE.

  • yeah!!!!

  • I bet your encyclopedic knowledge of STE specs makes you a real hit with ladies. Sad bastard.

  • No I'm actually very happy and my parents were married when I was born.

And every weekend women beg me for sex due to my unprecedented understanding of the STE. Life is grand.

  • Chatlines don't count, it's not real. They don't really love you.

  • They don't?! Please! Say it ain't so!

  • I can imagine it comes as a shock.

  • He meant Atari Falcon030 not the game.

Which incidently would have actually been slightly quicker on the ST considering it was a 3D game and the ST had a slightly higher clock speed.

  • I'll take the much better sound, textures & smooth graphics over .86mhz speed increase, thanks. ST asshat

  • For 2D games yes of course that much is obvious, but clock speed is all important for 3D.

What textures? Are you actually referring to 2D bit planes?

I never can understand what you mean in half of your posts because of how clueless you are.

I think you are more interested in cheap jibes and the way of the keyboard warrior.

  • most of the iff-samples were on st-01 :)

  • Atari kicked ass back in the days, never really liked Amiga all that much, I mean they we're probably just as good but Atari sparks more feelings from my side, I were no more than 5-6 years old when there computers were popular :)

  • Technically the Amiga is superior in every single way (that´s fact). But in the end it isn´t all about which was the technically better one.

The ST is actually a very simple computer, having almost no extra hardware, just enough to get it get it working.

I still have one in my collection, i used to play on it a lot before i bought my Amiga.

Actually, i like the simple blip/blop square waves produced by the PSG, it gives a nice NES fealing to it :)

  • LOL, You're still going around youtube, hunting down pro-ST people and informing them how much better the Amiga was?

Still, I say the ST is quite a neat little machine. Much faster to get up and running than an Amiga.

However, having acquired two Amigas last week, aside from the fact of having better hardware, they really have a strange charm...Like it demands me to be more artistic and creative...or...at least Deluxe Paint III does. Degas Elite is crap.

  • He he, as i have said numerous times before, i LOVE the ST and it will forever be number one on my top 10 nostalgic retro computer list. It was my first computer.

But still i can´t think of anything that was better on the ST compared to the Amiga.

TOS is not a proper OS, it´s more like a graphical filebrowser/program launcher, with some GUI/API functionality :P

The first release of Amiga OS was ugly looking, but the core was way ahead

Yes, QUBASE was better than anything on the Amiga

  • damn... atari vs. amiga was the way cooler fight than pc vs. mac... :)

  • This is pretty lame! Atari rules! Especially the Falcon :-)

  • HAHAHA ... I remember the dad of an old friend of mine had an atari back then and we showed him the demo, he didn't really liked it. I can still laugh about this one though, heh.

  • I had a similar experience where a friends dad would persuasively tell us not to read the messages, from his cracked software, by the PIRATES !, BEWARE KIDS, THE EVIL PIRATES !.

Apparently he was really angry at the intro to "iron man Irvin's off road" where an animated devil is humping an angel, absolute class !. kids don't know what freedom they are missing now a days eh.

  • buahhahah true true :) atari is fucking shit

  • This demo made me LOL so hard!!!! This is totally going to go in my favorites!!!!!!! XD XD XD XD XD

I WILL TOTALLY LEAVE YOU WITH FIVE STARS!!!!! :D

  • "Somebody must think "what the hell is this?"

but remember: in 1989 it was so cooooool and funny." <- Maybe you should learn to read before you post anything, shithead.

  • that song is fucking L3333T

  • LOL

  • War between Atari & Amiga users will never stop, even in 21th century :)

btw.. What a retard soundtrack :[

  • Heheh... some demos really sucked balls!

  • WHAT A DEMO!! ha ha NOT. STe 1024 Rulez

  • You are the one who is realy a losser !!! What's wrong with you?! ... Realy don't get it what you want to say with this "demo"

  • amiga is the best forever!!!

  • Yes! This demo really shows what the Amiga is capable of! Sampled sounds, static text and images and shit. Wow! Just wow! Blew my mind!

    [/irony]

    Atari ST forever! ;)

  • Atari - for losers only

  • Takes one to know one! ;)

  • I only quoted the demo :P

  • Just agree with you... :))

  • loool the atari ST is shit against amiga. look the clours and the scorlling. the best examples are : SHADOW OF THE BEAS AN GIANA SISTERS. looks and sounds like crap on the ST.

amiga = father atari = little kid

  • atari kicked ass

  • kann die vll jemand im adf format hochladen

  • Ich war früher(Bin es immer noch!) ein Atari ST-User! Fand früher das Demo nicht so witzig..... Aber jetzt ist es irgendwie cult!!

  • Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh. It sucks!!!!

  • haha, those were the days.

  • LET THEM HOES KNOW

  • Could somebody please post a download link

    for the *.adf ?

Also, if somebody knows where to download the

sound module, please post the link!

  • Woooow! Daran kann ich mich erinnern! Bescheuert aber kultig. Danke fürs uploaden!

  • holy shit .. amigaga ..

  • DAAAAANKE! Das wollte ich seit Jahren mal wieder sehen. Unfassbarer Müll, hatte es aber auch auf Disk.

  • im guessing amiga hates atari

  • These guys totally ripped my style. I created the "sixteen color picture that doesn't move or anything" demo technique in 84 on my c-64!
