After reading all about the Omni Dual Saw and the Craftsman Twin Cutter and watching all the published videos on both I have to say they look almost identical for all purposes,, so who is to say which of the two is of better quality unless you own both or have worked with both extensively. Being that the Twin Cutter is $70.00 I would try that one first,,,, wouldn't you??
I think this product would be better if it came with multiple blades in different sizes . The smaller blades are nice, and serves specific purposes. But it would be nice if it came with bigger blades as well .
One severe drawback: Very shallow depth of cut. To cut larger diameter square or round tubing, the cut would necessairly have to be made from all sides.

As it happens I am looking to better my 5" Ryobi circular saw for my fence project. I was about to just buy this thing when I realized that it doesn't cost $20 but $220. Oops.
I used my Ryobi to cut the edges of some two by fours at 40'. I built a simple jig. This thing doesn't seem to have a base plate so everything is cut freehand. Oops.
Why lubricating sticks? Could it be that the blades rubbing against each other generate some friction? Is that why they overheat?
I have three circular saws which I use mostly for wood. This saw seems to be a freehand saw for cutting metal. I cut metal with a carbide blade in my reciprocating saw. These are freehand cuts obviously. BTW I don't use lubricating sticks.
There are many posts on the web that note that this saw overheats.
I'm not angry and I don't think this is fraud. I just think it is a very specialized tool.
I'm not really sure myself (don't own one/seen any real reviews). overheating is an interesting flaw. if those blades got too hot, they may rub against each other (as you mentioned), the real deciding factor is if the users complaining about overheating are using the saw properly.

The idea seems to have merit, but the Lubrication Stick? I don' t know how long the "sticks" last, but I don't like the idea of limited sources to get them, and then the cost.

sears has offered this saw for about 6 years under Craftsman. Go to the craftsman web site and you can see it. Supposed to be patented by the U.S. patent office, not sure how they will get around selling in the U.S. if technology if close to the same.

is there anyone commenting here that has actually used this saw,and has an opinion on the tool not the manufacturer.(preferrably an experienced craftsman) Im a Contractor(finish carpenter) and first appearance this tool looks as if it coiuld be usefull for general cutting but curious about the quality,durability of the tool.Any comments would be appreciated.But if you are a person that thinks of craftsman"POWER" tools as a quality tool then you probably aren't the person I want to hear from.

i have tried it and i am experienced in construction. it is a good small saw. i know that craftsman and kenmore products arent of highest quality im more of a dewalt man myself

The idea seems to have merit, but the Lubrication Stick? I don' t know how long the "sticks" last, but I don't like the idea of limited sources to get them, and then the cost.
I realize that someday if the product catches on, supplies would be more available.
Does it have an auto shut down, if the sticks run out?

sears has offered this saw for about 6 years under Craftsman. Go to the craftsman web site and you can see it. Supposed to be patented by the U.S. patent office, not sure how they will get around selling in the U.S. if technology if close to the same.
