  • 77 people are jealous that blacks are taking BACK their invention...

  • This is awesome.

  • I tried. but I couldn't imagine it it does not work i'm sorry

  • I don't understand why first thing said about her in almost every post I've seen about her is She's a "Black Woman'. All I see is a beautiful woman with a super voice. But then I'm just an old Redneck" not smart enough to understand why color should define US.

  • amazing voice. love this song

  • I´m a Brazilian girl who likes country music. Never thought to see a black person singing this stile, but I´m very happy to see this. Congrats, Rissi!

  • PROUD to a Black Woman who loves Country Music. It baffles me how we invented country music and whites cross over into hip hop but they wont let us get very far in country music. I guess we have a LONG way to go.

  • proud 2 be one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Heard this song a few months ago and couldnt remember the name. now that i've heard it again im confused at how i could forget the name to such an awesome song! :)

  • There is something unimaginably SEXY about a country black woman. Unf. And the fact that she's beautiful certainly helps. Rissi, I'd never heard of you until now, but Oh~ I'm in love.

  • I'm about as country as you can get. living in deep East Texas.... I walk the walk and talk the talk! Rissi your video Rocks!!!! <3

  • So glad I found out about Rissi. I'm a black chic from the "south"-- South Bronx but I've loved country music since 1980 when I first saw saw Dolly Parton in "9 to 5". I could never admit how much I liked country music back then 4 fear of getting beat up by other blacks and afraid 2 go 2 concerts 4 fear of getting put down (or worse) by whites. Now I'm and adult and don't care who knows how much I love this music. THANKS RISSI!!! Keep singing those country songs 4 all the country gals blk & wht!

  • i would love to visit a plase like that! i´m from mexico and i love this country music!!!

  • It's like a female sassy version of Country Must Be Country Wide :D

  • This is not a country song...I don't know what this is but I know it ain't no country. Really disappointed by this. Ugh! :/

  • @RosieGirl1992 Hey sweetheart r you telling me that ur a white trailer trash piece of shit who likes country music - lol -

  • love this song...

  • oh fuck all of you... gay people blah blah.. your all fags to me...

who cares.. if your country your country but please feel free to shut the fuck up and suck my dick

  • @qkliang I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree. There are quite a bit of gay country people. It's who they are. Just cause their values and beliefs are a little different doesn't mean they can't be country.

  • To be country has nothing to do with where you are from or what your skin color is. It's more to do with your beliefs and values. No offence but some of you people blow things way out of proportion. And please stop with the racist comments your not doing anything but making people mad and starting things that should never have been started.

  • Never have i thought to see the day this would happen

  • Never

  • Its a girl Darius Rutger. I'll be damned. Do it girl!!

  • can you keep your boobs in your shirt its kinda gross and it says you have no self respect

  • Being "country" is not exclusive to race or gender, but is definitely exclusive to sexuality. Gay people can never be "country" the way straight people claim to be, because a large part of the "country" rhetoric is based on the metaphor of the family - procreation to extend a long tradition- that kind of thing. I'm pretty country myself - I wish I could be gay just to make a statement. But then I know I can never claim country if I were gay - except maybe in a fantasy movie like Brokeback.

  • @qkliang wow really?

If country is not exclusive to males or whites, why is it only for straights to enjoy or create? That makes no sense. It's a type of music. A genre. And sure, to some it's a life style (just like hip hop or rock) but at the end of the day you type "Country" into Pandora, not "Good, Christian Values and Hometrainin".

I've listened to a lot of country in my day and a heck of a lot of it deals more with parties, alcohol and fishing than the continuation of a family line.

  • @MissPegalicious Hmm, okay you're right. But I was not talking about country music exclusively. I was talking about being "country" - livin the country lifestyle. Farming and hunting - very traditional/cultural practices that are hard to get into unless your white father did it. And don't get me wrong, I hate that "country" has to be so exclusive. And I wish I could change it. As for country music though, I completely agree that it is not just white/male/straight at all.

  • @qkliang Since when was the 'country' life style exclusivr to whites? Are you delutional or something? What you call country music isnt even white either and it stole major elements from gospel, blues, and rock n roll, and old timey music- ALL of these forms of music came form non whites. White country music is more like Appalachian, and blue grass. Hank williams, johnny cash were BOTH mentored by black men as well to get their sound. The Banjo was created by blacks as well.

  • @monique052001 Even certain southern words and terminology used by whites in country comes right out of the black south, and were pick up by the poor whites of the south, Again, every one goes hunting, fishing, and everything else. Not all 'country folk' are even American.

  • @qkliang I dont even understand why race was even brought up in the first place but peole cant seem to help themselves.

  • she is good! and country music cums from all over the world now so its 1 of those things any1 can call themselfs now and it dont matter what u are

  • @loopysamy haha...cums XP

  • Just 'nother song that shows ya music/life styles is something we can all share, enjoy, and love. No matter what race we are.

  • This has the same chords as Extreme's Hole Hearted. (Sorry for the 20 year flashback!) Both songs are cool!

  • LOVE her. ♥

  • I don't like her voice it's too.

    ..high pitched at parts

  • I love this song! I can't believe that this is the first time I've ever heard Rissi Palmer. Definately my next request for the radio station!!

  • è muito triste ler comentarios racistas numa pagina de musicas e videos. Até quando teremos estas atitudes pelo mundo. A musica é universal. A garota canta muito bem e não importa se ela é negra ou branca. Aqui no Brasil temos cantores caipiras e sertanejos negros, brancos e até asiáticos.Caros Norte-Americanos parem com isto e vamos respeitar uns aos outros.

  • @rogerioshaiko I understood hardly anything of what you said, but I can agree on one thing for sure:

Music IS universal (at least, that's what I think you said! "A musica e universal"?)

  • @downthecountrylane .I talked about racstas comments made by some people about the singer. I think that racism is something very wrong.

    Yes the music is universal

  • country is a way of life it caint be bought its somethin yer born with

  • Was just reading thru some comments and started wondering, how is "being country" a way of life? I always thought it was just a music style but then again i never really listened nor read in to it.

  • coudl care a less if whe was black or white. county music is always welcome no matter the race at any point.

    Rissi your great!

  • @gfernon black people invented country as well as rock

  • I'm from L.A., Cali and I love country music. I guess I get it from my dad because he was a country music fan. And Rissi you're awesome!

  • When Blacks migrated from the south to the north, the term that most of them disliked was for northern Blacks to call them "country." They didn't want to be considered country bumpkins or someone that talked southern.

Later on, many Black women would say that they wanted a good, ole, country man to marry because of the high standards, and work ethics these men had.

  • it doesnt matter race it matters whats in your heart if you have what it takes and will to deticate to be COUNTRY!

  • Country has nothing to do with being from the south. If you didn't grow up in the city, you are country. Duh.

  • It's more than a way of life. It's an ideology.

  • @sexydarin1 I agree with you sexydarin 1 ................ It is, in deed, an ideology. That's why people who are born and raised in Canada can be considered "country," when they express this homespun, down-to-earth way of life. When I first heard Rissi singing, I thought to myself, "there's a chocolate Shania Twain there."

  • From Germany the best wishes.. awsome tune... best @2:12

  • todos los de usa fack yuo

  • yall do realize that the largest plantation was owned by a black man right?Anyways,i think she is country.

  • I'm from WV and I'm loud, proud, and pumped i have been a country girl since birth all that matters is that u have the attitude

  • I'm from WV and I'm loud, proud, pumped i have been a country girl since birth all that matters is that u have the attitude

  • black, white, pink, or purple it dont matter what you look like or what you wear if your country you know it. im a loud and proud country girl from arkansas and i love this song :)

  • @MRburitz shut up fool

  • holy crap a black girl thinks she country?

  • @iloveriverranch ya is that a problem who cares if shes black come on now

  • @iloveriverranch yeah but its a good song tho lol

  • Rissa is soo dam fine, and she is country to her heart, and proud of it, just like me!!!

  • So if all these girls sing about being "country" why can none of them wear boots in videos...?

  • @4evercountrycowgirl Cause some girls can't wear boots without looking ridiculous.

  • @4evercountrycowgirl Actually, Kylie Morgan is wearing boots in her version of the song:)

  • Great lyrics! Enjoyed the video! She, Ms. Rissi can really perform! She has my support! Thanks!

  • country just means you live outside the cities and the suburbs. Grow up, who cares where anyone is from or what they look like.

  • Beautiful woman with an awesome voice, all country!! gotta love her

  • Wow, is this woman talented!! I'm getting goosebumps just listening to her. Her voice was MADE for this genre!

  • It's such a fucking shame that we STILL have racism...and what's even worse is that IT'S JUST AS BAD TODAY than it was in the 1940's!!!

  • @donshan123 damm right goo fuck ur selff ha ha ok

  • To the people making positive comments about Rissi, I thank you :-)

To the ignorant assholes out there, it's so sad you have to resort to making negative comments. Usually people who make negative comments about other people aren't really doing well for themselves. Maybe if you stop making negative comments about people you might have a better life.

  • @honeegrrl

    Ciao

    Luca Italia

  • The blacks were already enslaved by black slave owners in Africa. Where do you think the white slave owners bought their slaves from.

  • @MRburitz And who the fuck are you? jerks like you should stay away from cosmopolitan sites like YouTube and similar sites. It's you who should go to the place where you belong: the barn where you must milk the cows.

  • Funny. This "nigger" has a record deal and sold out concerts. #whatabunchoftrash

  • @iheartjonscheyer30 shut the fuck up

  • She sings better than a lot of what some of ya'll are calling "real country" folks. She can come on down to my neck of the woods anytime!

  • I gonna set the record straight canadians do not live in igloos we have houses tv cell phones rollercoasters etc we have the same things you guys have and maybe someone should suggest having schools have more canadian history because i know my school got courses dedicated to american history just saying were not that different except that we are canadians woot woot

  • I agree with Countrygirl2497

  • @MRburitz you're a sad moron who should wake up and get a life. I betcha it stirs u up inside on hearing how well Darius Rucker is doing in CM. Oh did I mention he won the "Best Album of the Year" CM award a while ago?

  • Have you ignorant, racist morons stopped to think that African Americans actually have more of a right to claim themselves as 'country' than we white people do? We enslaved their race for more than 4 centuries in the Southern U.S and THEY are the ones that worked & operated our farms & kept the Confederacy going. Plantation owners just sat around all day and yelled at 'em. Go take a history class before you decide to make an idiot of yourself on the web.

  • @countrygirl2497 you are fuckin stupid who gives a fuck what my uncles and grandpas did ...they walk around like us white boys owe them something get the fuck over it I am country from my boot to my hat..and from my rebel to my american flag!!! Its America not Africa..around here we dont use 9mm its about the 45 mags and 30-06 and shotguns

  • @countrygirl2497 you sound about as ignorant as the raciest people. No one has MORE rights. We all have the rights to call ourself country, its part of being AMERICAN, and I do believe a WHITE MAN set them free.

  • @countrygirl2497 hey girl i've got more right than they do i aint racist my family never had slaves (couldnt afford em) we worked our own farms and hunted in the woods for food and before that we lived in tee pees so don't assume every white man in the U.S. had slaves and was lazy (as so many of us are now) truth is alot of the south couldn't afford slaves and got no respect from the north slavery was just the straw that broke the camels back to start the civil war it wasn't actually over slaves

  • @countrygirl2497 Hell Yeah!!

  • @countrygirl2497 "we"...?

  • Have you ignorant, racist morons stopped to think that African Americans actually have more of a right to claim themselves as 'country' than we white people do? We enslaved their race for more than 4 centuries in the Southern U.S and THEY are the ones that worked & operated our farms & kept the Confederacy going. • @MRburitz Theres a difference between Black people and niggers.

  • Country aint a skin color.. its a way of life!

  • @77rawhide That's right. It is a way of life.

  • Ha ha ha ha. This is hilarious. Who the fuck does this chick think she is? Ha ha ha ha.

  • @69badbutt69 What is that supposed to mean?

  • @69badbutt69 how is it funny

  • "Good home training ain't a common thang." Ain't it the truth. :/

  • She is gorgeous and has an amazing voice. I don't care what color she is! I'm one of the most down home southern white girls out there and I tip my hat to this sexy lady cause she is southern and a hell of a lot better than a lot of whats out now! Just like the Jane Dear Girls....They are country but dont fit the typical stereo type...even less so that Rissi.

  • her and darius rucker need to hook up

  • Im proud of Rissi, Im a Black man and I love country music. Doesnt matter what race you are..........little education for those that dont know, country music is attached to all kinds of music. I laugh even harder when they say say that there are know Black cowboys...........did everyone forget about Bill Picket........????? The man created bulldoggin' a sport loved so much in rodeo...Not trying to make this a racist post but simply saying open ur eyes and stop the silly shit!

  • To those sayin she aint country... I grew up in the country and i can clean up just like any other city chick

  • Just because she has a good voice don't make her country. She wouldn't know the first thing about being country

  • @countryismyrock0 What she is saying is just because you aren't from the South that you aren't a country girl. She means it's about WHO you are not where you're from. I grew up in the country in England. Am I a country girl? Same fucking shit isn't it? I know people that grew up in the SOUTH of England, are they no more SOUTHERN than someone who grew up in Texas?

  • @countryismyrock0 u dont know

  • I don't care what race she is, she ain't lookin' too country in this video. Gretchen Wilson, alll the way. <3

  • if that girl wasnt black i might like this song better and that is nothing near a country girl

  • 1. Your ignorant. What does a song and being country have to do with race?

    2. Rissi would massacre you on the mic. There's no contest. Sorry.

    @12fishbait

  • @iheartjonscheyer30 im alowed to put my opinon with out u comeing over here all up in my busy and shes is so not country

  • Comment removed

  • @12fishbait Please use correct spelling and grammer, if you want to argue with me.

  • @12fishbait Yeah but why did you listen if you don't like it? Why did you put a comment up that you knew would attract negative attention?

  • @12fishbait You're an idiot. You're ignorant. There is no space on this planet for people like you, and yet here you are. So since you do (unfortunately) exist, do us all a favour and keep your discriminatory, thickheaded bulls**t to yourself. Thanks, and have a terrible day you pompous jerk.

    Cheers,

from an African American country girl at heart, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Yeah, that's in Canada.

  • @12fishbait racist

  • Comment removed

  • @xXxMrWhiteboyxXx shut the fuck up

  • @ashley1919100 you mad bro?

  • @w33summer really i was born a counrty girl and moved to the uk when my parents split up i live with my mom so yeh i think i do and yes i am soo get u facts right next time

  • i am from gorgia

  • Rissi is absoultely amazing , I met her in Rochester , NY shes great

  • whats with all the fighting?? everywhere has a south, meaning world wide southen/country girls. hell, i'm english and from the northwest but everyone i no, my mum included, tells me i'm a country girl. its having the soul of a country girl, the the area code!!

  • Is everyone really that immature? Just shut up and listen to the song, it is nice and if you don't like it then (this takes a genius to figure out) there is a little x button at the top of this window, shock horror, you can press it and the music will stop playing. Everyone needs to stop arguing and get a life.

  • this song aint truee, she aint no cowgirl or country girl && it dont matter what state you come from either,

  • @kolleen57 isnt she saying that it doesnt matter where your from?? o_O

  • Everyone needs to shut the hell up

  • Love this song! Its true :)

  • Not Black Sabbath fuck off and i hope the ghost of Hank Williams haunts yuo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Come on now, Shut yalls damn mouthes

  • Rissi , I think you are a sweetie and love the sound.

Don't let the SOB's drag ya down !!!

    Mike Fifer

  • Canadian country girls, ftw.

  • @nchollywood what r ya talking about?

  • @ashley1919100 REALLY? It says " Canadian country girls, ftw."

    Lemme break it down.

Canadian country girl -> A girl from Canada that has the traits and lifestyle of a country girl.

FTW -> FOR THE WIN, There you go. help at all?

  • I would like to hear more of Rissi's music!

  • I really love this diversity.I go to school in Indiana where there are a ton of so called "country people",and they don't know what country is.I wear band t-shirts and converse.I don't wear flannels or boots or camo.In my town people are country because everyone else is,but the real country girls are those that don't flaunt it.The sweet ones who have manners and know right from wrong. You can't buy country. You are raised with it.

  • see i dont like her. she aint country i dont care what yall think but just cause she says the words country girl in a song a few times dont mean shes country. country is a way of life u have to be born and raised country u just cant buy country at a mall or somthin like some of them posin pretty boy. just listen to the songs what country is by luke bryan or 100% cowboy by jason meadows or just listen to some chris ledoux now there country or justin moore there all country. shes just a wanna be.

  • @COUNTRYMAN223 i agree she's not very country....i like the lyrics of this song though, Ashton Shepherd should be singing it!

  • OK, look - country music isn't about "who's been country the longest". Everyone's allowed to identify with it - it's about real people. My ancestors have been here longer than than this place was ever a country, but we were "country" even back in France. My parents tried to raise me in the suburbs but I was born a country girl.

  • hell yeah. all em yankee haters out there should shut the fuck up cuz there's PLENTY a gals up here thatve been raised the redneck, country way. id give up anything to keep this lifestyle.

  • True that, I'm from Minnesota and I'm nothing but COUNTRY

  • It isn't about your state, it's about your state of mind.

  • She can't sing country maybe gospel or something.

  • hell yea! melbourne florida baby! YEE HAW!

  • Now this is a real country song and this is what being a Country girl is about. whats inside and a state of mind ....

  • @Ford350girl

Hell ya. No one will ever be better than chris ledoux. Thats a fact

  • Oh sigh! How pathetic! I absolutly HATE it when people think that you only find cowgirls(/boys) Countrygirls(/boys) in the states! Like come on! In Canada there are 3 provinces that are like the Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. They are Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba!

  • @RiverGirl95 Except you live in Igloos...

  • @travvi1 only in the winter ;).....

  • @RiverGirl95 which one of us gets to be Arkansas?? haha.......saskatchewan is NOT IT!

  • @RiverGirl95 Don't forget Austraila either!

  • @RiverGirl95

    Um...

I had no clue Canada had provinces like Texas, Oklahoma and others. Interesting.

  • @DiscountPotato Dont you americans learn that in school?

  • @scooterissexy

No. I went to school in Europe and New York. I don't think learning about Canada is part of any American or European Elementary / High School education. I think Canada is mentioned once or twice during black history month because slaves settled there before the civil war.

  • @DiscountPotato I am from the US and we had a whole unit devoted to Canadain history when I was in the Fourth grade

  • @LeahWalentosky Well, that's cool. But, then again every state has different school curriculum.

  • @RiverGirl95 ONTARIO TOO! (minus toronto & ottawa)

  • @RiverGirl95 One of my favorite country singers is Shania Twain and I think it's really cool she is Canadian.

  • Stop making it about black or white! That Girl Can Sing!

  • I love this song!

  • I love it!

  • Damn i love it

  • @blkfyre1 and @backwoodsbrunette : rock on blkfyre. And to backwoodsbrunette, where i come from, there is a difference between country girls and plain ol' white trash. You, my friend, are the latter. Anyway, on to the song, it rocks. White, black, latino, whatever, it doesn't matter. Race needs to be put behind us. It's a real shame Rissi wasn't given a fair chance in Nashville.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow...you are very mean "backwoods". You don't wear pumps? Didn't "Daisy Duke" have on pumps? Didnt they have a Confederate flag on the General Lee? Were they or would they not be considered COUNTRY. Yes is the answer to all three of these questions mam....Next Witness your honor! lol Bless you brunette, you are helping the reputation of "blondes" everywhere. Thanks!
