For a professional dancer of so many years you seem to be stomping over everyone else's opinion and putting them down as if good dancer = good judge = good teacher. Each of those are not mutually exlusive, but not mutually inclusive either. Look at Stefano's footwork @ 0:39 and 0:52. Amazing. I've always felt that Stefano was very underrated by a lot of people... but he's coming into his own with Anna.

Melinda and Maurizio are also amazing here, coming more and more into their own -- a step up from their earlier "stunts from the past" as Bryan referred to them a year earlier, I believe. I love how playful Maurizio always is, it's relaxing to watch the man... he's so damn good.

For my money Smagin/Heron were a *mile* ahead of any other couple. The fluidity, the rythym, the technique, the connection. They are just breathtaking. My favourite couple ever.

Now that Rachel's split as dance partner from her bf, wouldn't it be great if they got back together! Doubt it'll happen though :(

The IDSF website. They post all of their competition results. If you go to the IDSF website you can see the judges score too.  According to the judges' marking, Katsevman and Manusova won all the events...

Although, I kinda share your point. I placed the Hungarian couple higher. But, I'm kinda biased against short dancers ... So it could be just my bias talking

aahh and I almost forgot how in the hell did the USA couple beat the hungarian couple at jive?... maybe I'm missing something in the videos.

It's actually a lot worse than that. According to the 9 judges, Katsevman and Manusova got 8 first place vote for Samba and Jive and 7 first place vote for Cha cha, Rumba and Paso Doble. So it's really a land slide victory for the US couple!

The Hungarian couple scored pretty solidly for second place. But they didn't even come close, if you only look at the judges' score.

The US Couple is so much more finished. Their movement is cleaner, faster and more dynamic. The Hungarians have more power but are their feet are sloppy compared to the US couple. Maurizio is also crazy. Looks uncontrolled and wild. Among many other reasons as to why Eugene and Maria won this competition so easily.
