They want to destroy not only gay people but anyone who has different opinions from theirs. I can only say: stop hate speech and any kind of DISCRIMINATION.
And that goes for hate speech and discrimination that many people who have been upset by Sally Kern have expressed here on youtube. Hate is hate, no matter which way the crap flies...
Well said, Sir, on many respects. How can she be so blind as to not realize that gay teenage suicide is exacerbated by social intolerance, brought about by people such as herself. She is the embodiment of the type of person NOT to elect to public office and a shameful disgrace to our Nation.
Her kind of comments are not a right when they lead to gay bashing. This is all rooted in bigotry, and according to Dr. Joyce Brothers, "All bigotry is rooted in ignorance."
Yeah, Michael, it's sort of like that old line, "with all due respect" which usually precedes a comment that shows a total lack of any respect whatsoever. Yeah, love that movie "Song of the South" (which hasn't been released in the USA by Disney because of so-called "racial overtones").
Thanks Capt., What do you mean "not released in the USA". I saw it as a kid back in the 60s or 70s, so it must have been released there. Racist? You betcha it was, full of stereotypes too. Sigh. It was another time. Don't mean to endorse the film, was just that metaphor that I found appropriate.
It has not been released in recent years on video or DVD. It IS available on DVD in Europe and the Far East where folks aren't so hung up on political correctness.
I live in Switzerland...come on over and watch Song of the South anytime in a country in which equal rights for GLBT people and all others are guaranteed and protected in the constitution.
I remember when Sadie Fields and Tess Fields were in a bitter dispute over the Marriage Amendment in GA (which passed, despite the daughter's cries). Tess is now living in Oregon with her partner. I wonder what the mom (Sadie) feels about alienating her daughter in the first place!
Yeah, good question. Why can ideaology trump love? What about the alleged gay son of Sally Kern, Jesse? Where is he, why are we hearing nothing about him? And how can Mary Cheney stand by and suppose an administration that supports and passes legislation that discriminates against her own way of life? It's puzzling...
Sally Kern belongs to a Hate Based organization called The Eagle Forum. In Utah many Senators & Legislators belong to this group. Check out a recent anti-black bigot from Utah his name is Chris Buttars his negative comments are also on youtube. Everyone should try to find out if their state officials belong to this group and get them to resign. The Eagle Forum is equilavent to the KKK and they are a tax free organization. People in America need to stand up against this organization.
51% of men in the sample chose exclusively girls as their victims. 28% selected only boys. 21% selected both boys and girls.

This is why I don't vote Republican: The party's words put it best-To be conservative you have to be Christian, and to be Christian, you have to be anti-gay. (of course, now I realize that's not true)
But I'm sure there are some pro-gay Republicans (such as the Log Cabin Republicans) who would condemn her words, and from what I've seen, they have.
I haven't been intertested in politics for a while now, but when I heard arboy's I'm Listening and Taking Action, I did some searching and found out what he was talking about, and Michael's right it was coming from an ignorant and derisive mentality that should not be coming from our nation's leaders agnostic or christian.
Thanks gameshowguy2000, we all have to vote our conscious. Not all Republicans are homophobes, in fact, many are not, but there is a radical right-wing conservative wing that is...as exemplified by Sally Kern.
God also stated -- in the same section -- that it is an abomination to eat shellfish or wear clothes made from mixed fibers... and that to do so was punishable by death. Checked your closet lately?
I ( TOM ) invite the many viewers of this conversation to check out our films on this site. Michael and I traveled the world - searching for OUR place in the Divine Cosmic Scheme of Things - and we found it. We are here on this planet to make love - NOT war. We are here to bring passion, eros and beauty back into a culture that has made suffering its false god. Our films chronicle our adventures - as we discover - to our great delight - that we have been greatly blessed to be created gay. TOM
Thanks Tom. Actually the channel he means is at Arboy28. This is my solo channel. Be sure to check out our Brewer & Berg multidimensional travelogues...
and to continue briefly...As a straight person doing GLBT studies in Uni, I'm perpetually amazed by how little people really know about gender theory and the history of sexual dissidents in this country and the world. It's truly amazing how little people understand about how their statuses inform their practices and beliefs. Straight privilege, which is totally apparent to many, is too often ignored by those people who posess it and cannot see beyond their own hegemonic concepts.
I love you. The amount of hatred seen in comments here is astounding. All one has to do is replace the word "homosexuals" with "blacks" to see how bad it really sounds. Of course homosexuality is always the last of the "isms"(racism, sexism) to be addressed. And of course all of these arguments WERE at one point used against blacks. Institutionalized racism through "science" etc.
Thank you. I have decided to simply delete hate comments posted here and to block the haters. I don't feel like giving them a forum here on my channel. That is not what I am about.
I think that's a good idea. While I believe that everyone should be able to express opinions, the minute your opinions and beliefs infringe upon the consitutional rights of others they are no longer protected. Plus most of the comments were just plain hateful and not in any way constructive. There's no need for that. It's better to just focus on the positive comments and known that there are those out there who agree with you and are trying to help the cause. Better that then become disheartened
You got it. Gays are the last bastion of bigotry. Who's left? They (the self-righteous wingnuts have got to look down their noses as SOMEbody in order to feel better about themselves.
she can beleive that homosexuality is wrong, but she needs to explain why. She didn't & was targetting them & cursing them (in my opinion)
I don't believe that gay marriage is marriage, b/c I define marriage differently. I also live in a secular state and no authority figure or government in a secular state can define marriage for me. Therefore, I can't stop it...b/c it wouldn't be right.
This is not freedom of speech & "islam" is not a threat!

I don't hate homosexuals just like I don't hate people with OCD, Autism or mental retardation. Sally is just pointing out the facts and is concerned about the loss of family values in America. You call it hate speach because it opposes your distorted point of view but she is factually correct... Deal with it.
Wow...this is extremely misguided. Sad. Most straight couples I know have split up...of the 6 gay couples I know, all but 1 are still together. So tell me more about family values. Hold on...another married politician sex scandal on TV...gotta go!
I don't hate christians, any more than I hate a small child with an imaginary freind. They have to be allowed time to grow up. Then we might need to take another look at their distorted point of view.
She is a public official, paid by taxpayers dollars. She has no business and is also violating her public trust with hate-speech and divisiveness. She should now apologize and/or resign.
I don't hate people with autism. For the record, I have a autistic younger cousin. I also don't make the claim that he's indoctrinating the children at his school, or that he'll live half as long as "normal" people, or that he's responible for 9/11, the AIDS virus, Hurricane Katrina, and the downfall of Western civilization as we know it. Guess that's because I'm a godless sodomite.
I'd like to believe that...but it seems like every belief system I've seen eventually boils down to "I'm right and you're wrong. And you're not just wrong. You're wicked and perverse for not choosing what I say is right." Eventually some individual is labeled as the bad guy. As if life were a movie with clearly defined roles.
Not to proseletize, but... if you're looking-- try Unitarian Universalism. I really dig it, and I think you would too. A lot of people think we're not a "real religion" because we don't tell you what to think, but we're a beautiful faith, and we welcome everyone. We live by 7 principles. Some of us are deists from Abrahamic traditions (Judaism, Christianity etc.) some are agnostic, some atheists. Many are humanists. We come together to seek truth and meaning. Most are progressive.
Beliefs are just thoughts we keep thinking until they become patterns. We can consciously choose to change the thoughts we think and thus our beliefs too.
Yep, and the Bible has more to say about that (i.e., Judge no, Cast no stones, etc.) than it does about homosexuality. They manage to play down positive gay stories such as David & Jonathon.
And let's not forget Ruth & Naomi. I always thought that "whether thou goest I will go" stuff was a bit too cozy. I guess a lot of it had to be cut out to make room for all the "begettin'"
Unfortunately, some Christians have an answer for everything (who cares if it makes sense?). The casting stones story to them only means that adultery (and therefore gayness somehow) is bad, and aren't you lucky that Jesus loves you enough to give you one last chance to stop being what he made you to be before he tortures you forever? They'd probably say Jonathan's death was his punishment for his "unnatural" love for David or something.
that's so funny "I'm not gay bashing" and the "god's word" thing is outrageous. obviously her words are crazy. her reasoning isn't even 7th grade level.
Have discovered what could be an explanation for her irrational ranting: Rumor has it that her son Jesse is gay and has been disowned by his mother, Sally.
