  • thank you denys, dear colleague,

i feel your interpretation very near in its mentality to my attitude.

i declare you for the actual master of this polonaise in youtube if you give me the second place with my interpretation: youtube . com / watch?v=F18LbML_CSk

though absolutely interesting the versions of the liszt-students on youtube.

    kind regards,

    wolfgang ellenberger

  • hermosa interpretación me encanta liszt es uno de mis compositores favoritos. seguí adelante

  • I like the fire in Denys Masliuk's playing. His fire reminds me of Earl Wild which translates to me as perfect for Liszt. If you listen to Earl Wild in his CD Demonic Liszt, you can understand my comments.

As far as it being too perfect; try telling Marc Andre Hamelin that when he plays Alkan-lol. No offense but when I hear comments like that I am reminded of Amadeus and the comment "too many notes". pffff

  • A fine performance

  • I am surprised Masliuk was not one of the 3 finalists. I heard fragments of Anzhelika Fuks's Liszt Concerto on youtube and the ending was weak and not even technically mastered very well. And Pisarenko was OK, but his stanchen was quite flat, and wilde jagd on the slow side and too classical. I even think Denys Masliuk should have won the first prize from listening to the segments here, and to some of the others (although there is not enough from Fuks and Nino posted here to judge fairly).

  • Thank you again.

  • You must compare this performance with the other performances of Horowitz, Earl Wild and Georgy Cziffra, and I come to the conclusion this is the best!

  • I was present! An unequaled performance as I know! I was impressed as I never was before.

Denys was technically the best I am sure.

He lacked the potention of becoming a star, and he lacked the mania that a Liszt performer must posess (it was too perfect and a little too technical with a little bit less notion for the romance).

But I love it that it is on Youtube! Thanks!
