Proboat Blackjack 55 on Lake Travis

How much is a new motor for it?

I think that they run about $275. I just had to replace the crank, gaskets & piston ring and she was good to go. I did all of that for less than $75.

were you running the Boat full speed the hole time you were runing with the boat?

Because thats not good to do that.

That could be why it locked up.

Nope, I was only running about 1/2 throttle. The motor locked up because the clutch shoes shattered and got wedged in the clutch stand off posts. The motor will take some level of sustained full open throttle running but you are right in that you shouldn't have it pegged for too long.

These motors can take full throttle for a lenght of time.. they are not running at max rpm because they are under a load.

@xelectricdisco why not you run a weed wacker full throttle same motor the problem was not anuff oil or these blackjacks and shockwaves need bigger water pick ups
