  • i always found this song to be quite moving. panic station, too, and 'unmerry-go round' i loved the production of that album, it was so futuristic for '84! I got my AH10 Ibanez in late '84. i love that guitar!

  • Gotta give Wackerman credit where credit is due- he's a bloody tight drummer.

  • Homer Simpson on vocals

  • Paul Williams é o melhor vocal para acompanhar AH e banda, indiscutivelmente.

  • Is that Paul Giammatti singing? ^^

  • And on the 8th day god created Allan Holdsworth :D What a guitarist and i've seen him live 3 times and what an honour that was

  • A song that has been a Fav of mine..inpeccable chord arrangement...In the studio version..I can see thats Allan playing all those chords..NO KEYBOARD PLAYER!!....Brilliant a virtuoso player and composer.. now my favorite axe man.

  • @TheKidstarj You are right....sounds very much like a keyboard in fact. Might be the most remarkable aspect of this performance, even more so than his blistering legato runs.

  • Holswoorth playing chords and being cool and funky, its priceless

  • Holdsworth is amazing, Jimmy Johnson on bass is incredible too.

  • @jharby62 JJ is def an original voice on the bass, so exciting! he really inspires allan!

  • Allan is "the KING"!!

  • is this the same song with metal fatigue from stork band?

  • @silentboy85 Definitely not.

  • @silentboy85 lol tone deaf?

  • seriously how long does Holdsworth practice in a day?

  • Extreme legato, skinny gauge strings, amazing lines, great band, album and Paul "Giamatti' Williams on lead vocals

  • One of my favorite Holdsworth tunes. What an amazing guitarist. And yes, thank god this is back on youtube.

  • thank god this is back on youtube

  • It was written on at least some of Alan's albums..."No keyboards"

Absolutely creamy chording in the verses!! Alan refers to that style as playing legato. Interesting contrast between the intro/solos, and the legato verses.

  • @biggbrattz slighlty confused there, mate. the legato is for the lead style. not picking every note. he grabs the chords with his hands, but that is not what he, or what we traditionally call 'legato;. but heartily agreed. i remember hearing this album the first time and just being blown away by how BIG those guitar sounds were. no keyboards needed...

  • I thought that was a keyboard backing the verse on the studio recording. f..., it's him with a different fx patch. amazing.

  • geez, he makes it look easy. really has a command of his axe and his gear. wow.

  • first time i saw him perform this live. very cool find...
