i don't know if it was a glitch, but I was playing with the ROm that lets you use the 2007 roseters and I was playing with the Pats. I trie dto put in the game genie code that let's you get 10 minutes per quarter, but I accidentally put in something else and some players had attributes of like 800. Drew brees had speed of 800 and was running and passing literally off the screen. Eugene Wilson had ints and speed of 852 and ran back 8 picks for td in one game. I forgot the code, someone tell me.
It's a weird nuance in the game. Haddix was coming off of a Pro Bowl year in which he intercepted 7 passes (the only 7 INTs of his five year career) and returned a couple for TDs. Tecmo gave hime the best skills at CB in the game for some reason, and they were quite a bit higher than the next guy down. Haddix is like the Bo Jackson of CBs in Tecmo. Go Bucs!
Also, this is not unbelievable. If you are skilled at this game (and have talented players), you can have multiple INT games, especially against the CPU, but also against humans.
And that's a perfect storm too...the Saints are easy marks because Steve Walsh commonly overthrows his receivers. Anyone not named Eric Martin usually = interception if you've got a decent guy covering, even in juice mode late in the year.
Looks to me like the guy playing against Haddix is just shot putting the ball up there and he has a friend operating Haddix who knows exactly who he is throwing to! A classic setup meant to get a reaction out of people! Not even the stupid computer throws the ball up like that!
I disagree. The New Orleans Saints actually have a *HORRIBLE* playbook in that game. Because the playbook is so bad, they have sorry, long-developing pass plays and flea flickers.
They have pass plays with two or three receivers on them.
In this game, one defender can easily cover two receivers deep if he is FAST enough, like Mr. Haddix is.
Now, if the CPU had a bunch of plays where the receivers would go to different depths, then it wouldn't be so bad.
carrier is the best but i posted the best season givin up 33 pt all yr woodson 31 sacks 8 int 19 saftey i got proof of all.. carrier get most pick if you use him right carrier hddix woodson browner waymer
I agree fro30, haddix is one bad mother on the greatest game ever. The Bucs are in my opinion a fun team to play with on offense, if they just had a decent LB or D-lineman their Defense would be tough
cover the entire field wow, why when you make a successful interception ALL the offensive players suddenly get stupid fast who the hell was wayne haddix?
Funny story. Back in the day our college (Emory U.) intramural FB team was named "Excellent Haddix." Good times. Anyway, I was recently married, and guess what? My college roommate tracked down Mr. Haddix himself, and got him to autograph a picture for us with the written message: "Keep it Excellent."
i have a 1991 wayne haddix tampa bay buccaneer card in my 1991 nfl pro set collection. my dad bought me that when i was 5 years old. wayne was one of those one year classic gems on a bad team, imaging how better he would have been had he been on a team with a offense.
Too bad Tecmo determined a player's skill level based on real life stats from the year before. Deion Sanders, Darrell Green, and Rod Woodson totally owned Wayne Haddix back then in terms of ability, but because Haddix had like 10 pics the year before the game came out (more than any of the others) he was better at picking passes on the game. Martin Mayhew is a better CB than Darrell Green on that game...LMAO!
He has the best skills for interceptions, but i'm gonna agree with the OP...Wayne Haddix would get a TON of INT's with a human controlled player. The other guy I loved using to get pics was Gill Byrd of the Chargers...he was money too
You sent into overtime, in a Tecmo Super Bowl game? You must be terrible on offense, or you purposefully let the other team have the ball as much as possible so you could run up your INT stats.
lol thats crazy, I know in the original Tecmo Bowl you could intercept anything (hell, I used Bill Pickel, a DT, to pick off 8 in one game) but it was a little harder in TSB. To get 11 INTs and injure Dalton Hilliard and Ironhead in the same game is quite a performance.
Mark Carrier of the Bears picks of anything thrown his way. Of course with Singletary the QB usually doesnt get rid of the ball in the first place, that's the only thing that keeps his INT totals from being completely ludicrous.
Rod Woodson is another Tecmo player of the Haddix caliber. But Woodson is surrounded by better players in Tecmo. Still, Woodson can take over any given Tecmo Super Bowl game in the right hands.
As Beerbong already mentioned, Bob Nelson was another dominate defender. He was the nosetackle on the Packers. Its fun sacking Montana 20+ times in the SuperBowl.
he got the int and just punted every time, i could intercept the ball 7 times if i did that, not that big of a deal when you are on defense 99% of the game
I didnt play offense, I punted everytime I got the ball so I had more chances of interceptions. After they went up 3-0 I just played a little offense to tie it up so we could go into overtime.
Since you got 8 ints in one game, how the hell do you tie, tie in a 3-3 game with 8 ints in one game. I don't know how that's possible by having such a big turnover ratio and you still tie.
Dave Waymer of the San Francisco 49ers is probably the 2nd best DB in TSB.

Did Haddix even touch Hilliard when he injured him? Or was that just showing that New Orleans is weak? Since all Haddix did was run down the field.

81 INT ability in normal health. Better than Haddix's 75 INT in normal health.
Hell, Da Bears had the best Defensive backfield in the game. Passing is not an option.
