This was my car; I passed my driving test in it (in Coventry) in about 1985 when I was 17, but I had owned it since I was 14 and kept it in my Nanna's garage in Finham. I used to drive it around Coventry & further afield. The story about a couple having it in Keresley, West Midlands up to the 1990s sounds true, we sold it in that area. The advert wasn't on the TV in those days, it had been retired by 1985, so I only ever saw it on a scratchy half-missed BETAMAX video recording - until now!

Anybody serious about cigars must look at this offer thompson cigar has happening right this moment, for $20 I just now received a bunch of various cigars that was fully more than worth it! Thompsoncigar-PH16.Co.Cc
Oh, halcyon days! Brushed nylon, Corfam shoes, Vesta chow mein, women in their place, sheepskins, Chopper Harris, Geoffrey Boycott, Light & Bitter, Mexican moustaches, mens' perms and all redolent of the perfume of cheap cigars. Progress? We lost more than we gained, lads!
ah you've made my year this car ended up in ballymena and got painted purple and a nice v6 plumbed into it awsome man i used to drool over it all the time thanks again
Sorry Danfoose but someone has been telling porkies. This car was supplied by a couple from Keresly in the West Mids. It sat in their yard till the early nineties, at which time it was purchased by a friend of mine. It still had the chevrons down the side.
He promptly chopped the bulkhead out and dropped in a 3.0L Capri engine (same mounts) and he drove it around like that for a while. Sadly a year later it went round the track at Hednsedford raceway during a bomber race. So there you go......
An old mate of mine actually dragged an old Anglia up at Santa Pod, it looked just like the one in the ad, never forget the day we first saw this Ad and the look on his face !!
watched this ad open mouthed as a bairn.searched for ages on net thinkin it was hamlet.me dad had a 105e so it brings me some good memories.cheers for this one.
I have used the term "Carlos Fandango" for wide wheels pretty much all my life because of my Dad referring to this ad but i had never seen it. Its better than i ever imagined it!
Hey it's great .. but where is Jean-Pierre Luni and his Superskis. Be the Zenzassion urf the slurps(Sensation of the Slopes - to non-french speakers). Ask your Dads Will and 4Forty -same era as Carlos !!
