Oh the irony of it all....before you get caught up in the emotion of this song (and it's a good one!) here's a song about not having to be "picture perfect" and yet EVERY person on stage is about as picture perfect, including Michael W. Smith. It looks like his producers hired everyone from a modeling agency. The song is perfect, everyone making the music is perfect, the choreography is near perfect - REALLY? I wonder if anyone in the audience slowed down enough to think about this?

there's quite a bit of "wholesome" music lumped in with "christian" music. it's more about the values and less about referring to Jesus or God constantly. Not every song on christian radio needs to be or even SHOULD be strictly about Christ or God. wouldn't that be insanely boring? if you want only music that references Them, then you can find that in church. sometimes good clean fun songs are just as good as songs of direct praise or worship. sometimes you just want to sing about the good life.

@dakotalovergirl Carman found a way to add the name "Satan" to many of his songs. How many Christian music songs have "Satan" in it? God is exalted and Satan is defeated. Satan, bite the dust. ...and send this evil lifestyle back to Satan where it came from, etc. Michael W Smith and Carman have done an awesome job in their music.

this is how christian music used to be ....it had a lot of ingenuity, freshness, and wasn't just a copycat version of today's secular alternative rock which seems to be a what a lot of the music is these days.. just a emulation of the styles (including dress, etc.) of the artists played on MTV.

But if you will notice in the 2000's MWS changed..I guess due to maturity and as well as a CHRISTIAN. He's a very talented musician. And he is indeeed blessed by the Lord Jesus. I think nowadays, MWS has definitely put his heart into worshipping and not like the early days(like this concert). He is doing a great job for the Glory of God.

I've thought ever since this came out that this opening song was re-recorded later, maybe due to some sound glitch. The backing vocals are lifted off the CYW album and if you look at the musicians - bass player Jimmie Lee Sloas in particular - what they're doing bears no resemblance to the music. Anyone know if this is true because this song (only this one from the video) has always made me suspicious!

Thomas 45525. What are you talking about? How does this song in any way go against Scripture? This song is all about accepting someone for who they are, NOT for how much they look or act like someone from a magazine or Hollywood film. He is stating that a person doesn't have to look "perfect" (the worldly standard or ideal of perfection), they simply need to be who God has made them. There is nothing ungodly about MWS music (and don't bring up the ending of Kentucky Rose...that was poetic).

love michael dub - but this is synced, sorry to say, bg vocalists are off, as are what there doing with the instruments -also unless mike is an olympic athlete with the stamina of a cheetah - he couldn't jump around, run, sing and move the mike farther and closer to his face and still have 0 wavers or imperfections in his voice. I could go on - but having said that - it's 80 style pop lol, its allowed! He rules though - wicked tune.

It was hard to decide whether they were lipsynching. The performance is VERY close to the album sound, which is a credit to their quality of performance if it was real. After listening to the whole thing, I heard some variations and have decided that they really are singing it, and not lip-synching.
