When you look thru the time machine that is Rock and Roll Keith Moon stands as a true original. And he did it with flare and style, he really did live the Rock and Roll life like a train. And of course his work will live on and that is what seperates him from so many wanna be rock stars that are long on attitude and short on talent, Moonie brought the goods.
Someone can write the lyrics of this song..?Pleease !because im italian and i love this parody but i can't understand what he's saying...Pleaseee!! :)
@MsFanmail Can I marry you then? Hahahaha, just kidding. I wish Keith Moon was still alive, I feel like I could of related, and gotten along well with him.
I can't understand what's he's saying, My main language isn't english, can anybody tell me what's he saying? XD (I'm not talking about the lyrics...) I read some parts on the commentaries like "....you bring your wallet, I'll bring my extra liver, we're pour a day of it, eh?"
Great Video. That glass dark brew he's drinking sure looks good. Moonie is like some sort of alcoholic super hero. If ever the world gets to boring for me I just look to Moon for a smile and some encouragement to be over the top.
If you liked this - you should also check the book and website "Good Night Keith Moon" which spoofs the classic children's book "Goodnight Moon". Just google "Good Night Keith Moon".
I think the word you were looking for is homage. Your loving homage to Keith Moon. Parody is something completely different, that alludes to or imitates something else in jest.
whenever i play a gig (im a 47 yr. old drummer) i tell the bartender that i learned at the keith moon school of drumming. so gimmy a pint of guiness ya wanker. he & palmer are the reason i use paiste gongs. STILL MISS THIS GUY/GOD
i know that i mean, i the songs would have been becuase the drummer was so standard and there new drummer is good but come one Keith was the only one for that band. Like Zeppelin stopped completely when Bonham died and went suprated ways for a while.
i wonder how the Who would have been in the 80s if Moon took the right amount of the pills and not drink that beer at Pauls party. Either way he is still the best drummer who ever lived. BTW he had to relearn to play the drums everytime The Who took breaks from tours and albums he really never learned to play haha. All hail Keith Moon!
if you wonder what theu would be like look up some of their stuff from the 80's they didnt stop they still tour and released an album relatively recently 4-5 years
It's weird why some people enjoy alcohol so much. I've never really enjoyed the sensation of being drunk, and have never craved alcohol. I guess I just didn't inherit the alcoholism gene. Lucky I guess.
The parrot falling off his shoulder at :52 always cracks me up in Kids Are Alright. Why Moonie never got a real movie role amazes me. His reason for moving to LA was to try to get acting roles. He probably had either the worst agent or no agent at all.
He probably didn't give a F..K as along as some one was laughing with him."The Joke's on you....coz I can see.." Ox by my side.. John missed him . Pete & Rog have made sure by continuing that those 2 are remembered for all time
John did miss him. They were roomies during the early days when they could only get four or so rooms for the band and crew. I don't remember reading any quotes by John about his feelings about Kenney Jones. I don't know how he felt about that choice. Roger probably had the right idea--he wanted a rotating stable of drummers--choose the right drummer for the right song. In any case, losing Moon really put the Who into the ditch.
What a soul, the one person that truly lived life his own way, and on his own terms, albiet a short life. (Read his bio. called "Moon") just to hang out with him for a night of bar/pub hopping/crawling, must have been a riot...!
I would have loved to spend an afternoon with Keith and Viv Stanshall from Bonzo Dog Band drinking and philosophising...so sad they are gone..missed but not forgotton
Keith is my ultimate hero... this is the song I listen to to get my drink on. Rip Keith... a truly bright star, yet human and so tortured all the same. So long, dear boy.
Yeah, you are right. When I said "a while," I was thinking a few days, but I guess nobody really knows exactly how long. For him, a few days was pretty long, since he decided to sober up on his own, without going to a hospital for detox again.
He took alot more than what was prescribed by the doctor of the Heminevrin he was prescribed. It seemed the times Keith put himself in danger nothing really happened to him (apart from being immediately rushed to hospital after he took the animal tranquilizer with brandy at The Cow Palace in November, 1973 and the muscle relaxers with booze at The Boston Garden in March, 1976) then when he was getting himself together he died.
According to Annette Walter-Lax on the Behind the Music on Keith Moon, he had a pint of beer at the Paul McCartney party (they were discussing the Rockestra thing Keith was to take part in (even Paul McCartney said Keith was to take part) before he died early the next morning). What's also eerie was on the same program, Keith's ex-wife Kim had an eerie nightmare that Keith died two weeks before his death was a reality.
keith said that he couldnt do a comedy show because he wouldnt be able to write out a script, he said wen he's being funny it just happens, he didnt plan anything lol
Drink it up folks, This is what a REAL Rockstar used to be.
