  • What if the blocks are not symmetrical?I did the right to left left to right but the blocks didn't match in my pattern that I'm following

  • @TheMissyfiona The double crochet should line up. The will be very slightly off, because the natire of the crochet stitches, but stitch should be over stitch and space over spaces evenly. Look at the graph and think of the solid blocks this way; 1 dc is a line two dc is the space between the lines.

  • @Bethintx1 "natire" should be "nature" Bad typing skills, not bad spelling! :D

  • Thank you for the nice tutorial! Can you please post the link to the video where you explain the "shadow stitch"? I'm curious about that one :-)

  • @pandaanders I do not have a shadow stitch video. Perhaps do a you tube search.

  • Yours is the first filet video that makes sense to me! That post it idea will save me ALOT of time when I'm doing intarsia too! Thankyou!

  • You postit idea...BRILLIANT! :)

  • Are the graphs always worked from the bottom up?

  • @f12oreve08r Not always. You can even work sideways! If you are following a written pattern along with a graph, the follow the directions as written. Otherwise use your own discretion.

  • you go way to fast

  • @1Bffsforever, Use the pause & rewind button. Maybe you should spend money on an expensive video that you can follow better. But I've been told that my videos are easier to follow. Plus, mine are free.

  • @1Bffsforever ...I'm a beginner, I tried several other teachers on you tube & THEY ARE too fast & camera angle not good, Bethintx1 goes slow when she starts a video to teach & is the ONLY one who does, but if she's doing almost the same thing on on the continuing videos, there is no need to slow down 'AGAIN', I myself use the rewind or pause that are available, reason technology is available. It will cost to buy at stores & not as good as hers. Bethintx1 is FREE. Good luck

  • meshes? what do you mean? it goes faster. what is mesh?

  • Sorry, I forget beginners do not know the lingo!

A mesh is one open square formed by the stitches.

  • i'm familiar with crochet and i think it's quite well explained... i have a question though, with filet, do you always apply the same rule or it depends on the design? example, after you made 33 chaines you added 5 more to create the first square and the square are made with two chains etc, if you were using a 3 chain square, how many would you have to add to make the first square?

  • You mean your spaces are skipping 3 chains? The easiest way to figure it out is count chains... so 1-2-3 for the skipped chains and 1-2-3 for the double crochet, and 1-2-3 for the 3 chains...so that means you double crochet in the ninth chain.

  • Im a beginner so this seems way to hard!

  • this is very confusing

  • This video is very simple, but it might be confusing if you are just learning to crochet. Learn your basic stitches first, then come back and learn the fillet method.
