I have 2 Persian cats that are both pretty gentle like this one. I have been wanting a German Shepperd for awhile now. Would it be terrible to get the puppy with both of my cats declawed? I love dogs but wont get one if it puts my cats lives at risk.

@eanielsen123 Cats should *never* be declawed. It's mutilation. The ends of the fingers are removed at the first knuckle. Would you like that done to you? It's much better to simply clip the sharp tips of the claws, as they grow out. Checking and clipping nails can become part of the cat's daily routine. Before a meal is good because the connection is then made that nail examination/clipping will be followed by something pleasant, i.e. food.

They are great. My nw puppy barged straight towards my 2 cats thinking they would play with him. One stood her ground and they are now OK and other one who is a big Maine Coon was terrified of him. Hope she is slowly coming round.
