  • I like it but you could use a slide on that slide guitar of yours and make it sound a million times cooler. I mean no disrespect but the way you are playing it there you might as well pick up a regular guitar.

  • Hi Curt: That's a good one. Enjoyed your singing and playing that dobro/guitar. I'm working on this one on the banjo, but it has been a hard one for me - but I'll keep plucking - :>)) Gwen

  • I like to here your version, mine ain't that good. I'm not much of a singer, that why I stick to just pickin.

    Glad you liked this.

    Curt

  • Hi Curt: Your singing was great - you need to do more of it. Rocky Top won't be my first one on You Tube - not that good at it right now, especially the second part - I'm still working on it though. But may try one soon - might be my last - :<)) Gwen

  • played my fiddle along with ya', good job///

  • I would like to hear that. I love the sound of the fiddle. You might try playing my video in the background and make a video of you play with me. That would be great and you have my permission. I know our Youtubers would like it.

    Thank's!

    Curt

  • I don't do a lot of singing. I don't think I am that good. I leave the singing to the pro's. I sure enjoy picking guitar though.

    Thank you Bill!

    Curt

  • Way to go. Love this one. By the way, nice guitar! 5 stars.

  • Thank you Sherril! this guitar is an eye catcher, everyone likes it. The more I play it the more I like it. It has a great sound plugged or as an acoustic. Most of the time I play it as an acoustic into a mic.

    Curt

  • fantastic, I enjoyed that very much! You are an amazing talent!

  • Thank You Very Much! Glad you liked it. I love doing this for my friends.

    Curt

  • what you planning on doing next curt?

  • yeah i cant read music, i just learn where to put my fingers hehe

  • Since I play by ear, it took me a while to learn what each fret and each string sounded like. I memorized where everything was. Now I can play almost as good as I speak. If I can hum it I can play it.

    Thank's!

    Curt

  • this is also good buster, think ive got hooked to blue grass now buddy Lol

  • Thank's! I love bluegras, with the hammerons, bending and pulloffs of the strings. I'm still working on doing pulloffs. I try to incorperate some bluegrass licks in most of my music. My favorite is to mix Country and Bluegrass together. This is a style that I have developed teaching myself how to play. I play strickly by ear. I can't read music. I'm just learning the names of the chords I play.

    Thank's!

    Curt

  • Sounds fantastic :)

  • Thank You! I have done it many times since post on here. I can do it with my eyes closed. I have always wanted to learn this song and it is the only one I have sang. Maybe I'll do more someday, but for now I just pick.

  • Hi, I seen your comment on one of Buck Norris's videos's, so had to check you out..LOL

This sounded great, always loved this song.

    (5*) Sherry

  • Thank You Sherry! I'm glad you liked it. I like Buck he has become a pretty good friend. I have been watching his new series on Hank and I love his music. I grew up to old Hank's music. I love the old Country, Bluegrass and Folk songs the best.

Please come back and visit my channel and share it with your friends. Can't have to many friends.

    Thank You!

    Curt

  • Thank you Bill!

This is my all time favorite song. I had just memorized the words to this and recorded it, it could have used a little more practice.

  • I love this song, and you did it proud, Curt!

    :c) Great job! 5+Star's!

    God bless, my friendd!

    GinMillBill

  • Great tone - Never seen a Fender resonator before - nice introduction. 5*

  • Thank you! I love this Fender, the first time I played it, I knew I had to have it. I have many guitars and every one have a different tone. I also have a Gold Tone Electric 6 String Banjo, it sounds great in Country and Bluegrass music. I have a couple of video's using it. Please check them out.

    Thank's Again!

    Curt

  • that resonator fits that song perfectly

  • Thank's! I was doing slide in open "D" yesturday, sounded pretty good. I'll have to try that more.

    LOVE YOU!!!!

    DAD

  • Thank's I'm glad you like it. I'm sure with a little practice I can do it better. I really get the jitters in front of a camera or on stage. I've been play around town as much as I can to get over it.

  • Go, Buster! TR

  • This is a Fender Resonator Electric, it has a great sound pluged in or unpluged. I love it, it sounds really good with the kind of music I play. I feel that I'm not that good, but I am struggling to get better. I only wish I had started playing when I was a lot younger.

    Thank's for your great comment.

    Curt (buster541)

  • Damn Buster, you should be touring with Dolly.

    Is that a National Steel?

  • I think your singing is fine for that song!! It is meant to be sung like regular folks sing, That is why so many of us country folk love that song!! Can you imagine how awful it would sound if sung opera style!! Unless its grand ole opry! you are doing it right as far as I'm concerned!

  • The best one man one guitar version I have heard in a long time!! Great work Buster!

  • Thank's, I'm not much of a singer and thats why I stick to composing instrumental. Rocky top is one of my all time favorits.
