  • gotta love how directors use mirrors so you never have to stop staring at that gorgeous face

  • how can i do this trick

  • This trick was just recently Ellusionist approved and given the award for "Best Card Trick Done by a Hot Actress".

  • if you watch little better theres is absolutely no movement of hers, when she is shuffling cards (hand double), plus watch her inserting aces in the spread (facing the same way - up, up, up, up), and when she is taking them out some are facing different way ( up, down, ? hard for know at the diamond, up- regarding how the cards are putted in and out ace should be facing other way at the end (atchz it turning)) this trick can be performed real, but sry i dont think this is :/

  • @lolek113 You're wrong bro. No doubles or anything. Rachel Weisz said in an interview that she practices for almost two weeks to get this card trick down. She also learned to skateboard and play some instruments to play Penelope.

  • @POAKProductions she does a clouple tricks, ace cutting, shuffling, queens for aces can be done and learned, and are also amazng tricks,.. aces to the top also can be done, but here is twisting the orientationon of the aces little wrong - btw by "fake" in ace to top i was reffering to non impromptu.

  • I haven't seen the movie yet and I only watched the clip for the card trick. And although I also tried to focus on her story, I was so captivated by the trick, that I can't tell how the story ended...even after watching the video for the second time ... xD

  • its great, flawless :) i like girls doing magic, but shame that its fake, outstanding nontheless ^^

  • @lolek113 Most definitely is NOT fake. This is an awesome effect that has been around for quite a while.

  • Please tell me the name of this trick and where I can learn it?

  • @tellunium as a fellow card man......did you have to give the secret away so easily lol

  • @thenfm Oh, you're an absolute card, darling.

  • @thenfm Yeah, I hate the womenz when they flap their gums instead of cooking my foods =/

  • Uh oh, Rachel Weisz. You're awesome is showing quite a bit here.

  • Rachel Weisz !!!!!!!

  • Trick is: set up the deck beforehand with the top four cards as the aces, the next four as the queens, and four more aces at equal intervals, and then mark the deck for four cuts (each one directly above one of the four aces). So, you cut, lay out the aces, place them back in the deck, lay out the aces from the top of the deck, and then when you go to sweep the cards, use your thumb to separate the top four cards from the rest of the deck and stick the four aces from the table behind the queens.

  • @tellunium but she shuffled the deck when she started...

  • @delikcc Well, only the trick itself is a continuous shot. There are a couple cuts in between her shuffling and the actual trick. If this wasn't in a movie, it would be more difficult. But as it is, I think she did really well and scene is gorgeous and very symbolic.

  • @tellunium what do you mean by " mark the deack for four cuts'? how do you get the cuts to come out at the exact spots with aces on top? thanks in advance!

  • I don't think this is real for two reasons. First, the order of the aces. The spade is put in first (bottom of the pile), but ends up on the top of the pile. Secondly, if you watch CAREFULLY at 1:37, you see that the ace of spades was put in upside down from her perspective (follow the card closely). Then when she flips it from the top, she *flips* it, but it is upside down from her perspective again. Try it yourself. Either that, or she rearranges the aces AND rotates them...

  • Is this dream of aces?

  • Best trick I've EVER seen! ^-^

PS- Rachel Weisz is one of the most beautiful women in the world!

  • The card trick was designed by movie magic adviser James Freedman who also taught Rachel Weisz the necessary card sharp and croupier skills. She had to perform the trick herself as it was filmed in one continuous shot.

  • Rachel Weisz is an actress, not a magician. If it's not 100% flawless, it's only to be expected. I'm sure her Academy Award more than makes up for this.

  • Yeah, totally. What I think is even MORE amazing about this, is the fact that she's speaking her lines flawlessly while doing this. I don't think I could multi-task THAT well.

  • 2:02. you see the ace cards being put in between.

  • Your point?

  • Does anyone know how to do this card trick? It's pretty great.

  • yes i do i have been playing and doing trick with cards for about 5 years now this trick itself it actully veryyy entertainingg but yet it is simple

  • Good stuff, can't wait to see this.

  • Beautiful.
