Love it, love it, LOVE it! I've been doing an REO thing the past couple of weeks on YouTube, reliving the good old days, loving it all. I've seen remarks that Kevin is lousy on vocals. Apparently he is breaking some "rules" when he sings. I find his style SO unique, SO refreshing! Play by the rules and become a mediocrity. Sing your own style, give it all ya got, and you might just produce a great performace ... like this one. You think Janis played by the rules?? Luv you, Kevin!
Ya know, for a live version, pretty damn close to the recorded version that we know and love so much! I've had the pleasure of seeing these gentlemen in 05' & 08', and it was a wish come true! I grew up listening to REO and they are still very much in my heart, certainly much better then 'todays music'! Give it a try kids, listen to the words and you'll be hooked! This is music about loving people, not about who can wear the least clothes to an awards show! Back then, it was about the music!
in the version of this song sung live in 2010, kevin cronin sounds really wierd in it, nothing like he does in this one!! guess that is the affect of age
I think anyone from Bon Jovi (pukes) is just as cheesy but then again I think they were and are fucking horrible. I agree with you on this tune and Foreigner. Best Foreigner song - Dirty White Boy.
Kevin Cronin has the cheesiest look for a member of a rock band but his song writing and singing is brilliant. I love this song and also "Waiting for a girl like you" by Foreigner. Definitely two of the greatest power ballads ever...
