  • Screw Los Angeles. I'd rather be in New York

  • I passed the ged test. The test have Word problem with percent, graph (pie graph), multistep word problem, angle (ABC>CBA), are what I found most important.

  • @PikabooxxD dude how can i solve the word problems and graph problems

  • @PikabooxxD khanacademy go to this channel. I pass the test thanks to it. :)

  • @TheZombahs I don't really feel like shes talking down on people who dont have a degree or diploma.. She might not have the best skills to speak out on camera.. but Im actually thankful that this woman is taking time to make this video.. Its not about how good a youtube video is, Its the determination is what gets us our GED.

  • any body wat to be my study baddy? i've failed two subject twice >:(

  • helpp !!! i need somebody to answer me a question i took the test and my battery is 460 my total score is 2300 but my score in math was 390 does that mean i pass or fail?

  • @miczgothic U need a 410 or higher on all test than again u need a average of 450 thats what happen to me i passed all test but my average was 6 point off

  • @miczgothic Don't waste your time with that. Just drop it, and enjoy the time you have left on this planet before I end it in November.

  • @miczgothic Im about to take my GED exam but like you im scared about my math score being lower then a 410. You should pass if your total average score is at least 450 right?

  • @cotto280 i wish but every subject has to be a min of 410 so if you dont score over 410 on math u dont pass even if you aced everything else, i scored 400 my first time and retaking in 2 hours lol

  • @460M I hope you passed :).. another question(s) i have is, you only have to retake the section that you failed? And how long did it take to receive your test results?

  • @cotto280 i did pass and it feels great lot off my mind, and ya you only retake the section you failed BUT in 2014 they are changing the whole test so you have to take it all again., and i had my results in 5 days? roughly for math

  • @NoFair0nez how many questions was in the algebra part ? that is the only one i have problems with. please reply ?

  • @KingKoopaHD 50 but you can miss 20

  • @TheZombahs Thank you. People seem to think even if you drop out of high school, you are just a stupid and redundant, but that's not entirely true. While most people are subjected to that, like me, we could be some of the smartest people in the world, and/or get real successful later in life. To name a few celebrities that dropped out and got their G.E.D., Bill Cosby, Michael J. Fox, Chris Rock, Brandon Lee, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Steve Levicoff.

  • Practice, practice and more practice is what people need to pass the GED test. It is not even hard.

  • who wans to help me study ?

  • mmmmm! almost everything is true except about ,if you can answers 2 questions on same time this is no true maybe in the pass but now update in most school test is unsucesfull please be carefull thans

  • TRUE LET US KNOW IF U PASS IT?

  • @TheZombahs Yes! well fucking said!! so true!

  • @NoFair0nez Yes I did. It is not diffcult dude. I was in the GED prep classes for two weeks prior to taking it(because it's mandatory in my town xD) I scored 680 on the first Language Arts portion, 650 on the second Language arts, 760 on the Mathematics, 650 on the Science, and 700 on Social Studies. Have you taken yours yet?

  • @TheZombahs

I don't think that you should take this personally, as you also know that she is communicating the message to other people. For example people who immigrated to this country, and are trying to get their GED. This is actually a good start up video and I don't think it is directed at dropout's only.

  • how do you pass the GED? just do it.

  • @TheZombahs so did you pass the ged then??

  • senior drop out :( oh well

  • I a tenth grade dropout ,

  • I honestly just talk like that.. Even in real life... But okays, glad you agree with me =]

  • im gonna sign up to take the test this monday, im getting pretty confident about it. once i pass ima go take a semester for 15 college credits so i can enlist in the marine corps

  • @BEARARMZ Good luck dude.

  • I dropped out my tenth grade year too

  • I'm doing my pre-test this friday, i just hope i dont have to study everything all over again, since i havent been in high school since 2003

  • @pinolero13 how did it go? did you pass the pre test?

  • @Emo92Fate no i didnt pass the pre-test, now i have to take classes until i do the real test wich is in June.

  • are there any places in Atlanta that offer classes to people who need tutoring with the GED??

  • PLEASE BELIEVE WHEN I SAY....THE GED IS REALLY EASY...YOU JUST GET IT OVER WITH

  • Congratulations TheZombahs!! Im currently studying for mine now.

  • @TrappedInLIES cant till u 16 dude stay in school trust me its wayyyyy better unless family issues then go 4 it but other then that u will miss out on so much not goin to school

  • @TheZombahs im with u 100%

  • Lol I feel I have commented on this video wayyyy too much, but yea, I got my GED results today, and I passed =D

  • i didnt graduate from high school because I was not stupid...I was lazy. When I actually read and study I actually get a very high grade. I am still lazy lol

  • Not in my city

  • I'm gonna start off by saying, I'm 29 and I to didn't finish high school but I don't feel that ppl are "forced" to get a GED, for whatever the reasons are. A lot of ppl end up getting a GED simply because they quit school. I've known plenty of ppl with serious family issues who stayed in school making great grades. It just depends on how determined you are to better yourself. I, myself, didn't like school, so I quit but I'm going to get my GED at the first of the year then going to college

  • dropped out in grade 10 i should've graduated in 2010 ;( i think ill take the GED is it hard?

  • @TheZombahs I AGREE WITH YOU...I HAD FAMILY PROBLEMS...SO I DROPPED OUT HALFWAY THROUGH MY SENIOR YEAR..I HAD NO CHOICE AND I AM SUPPOSE TO BE CLASS OF 2010 SO IT SUCKS...BUT HEY, IM STILL GETTING EDUACTION! GED IS THE SAME. IT'S BETTR THAN SITTING ON YOUR ASS THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.!!!! thumbs up to you

  • @TheZombahs yea man like in between summer and fall of 2011 im gonna go get my GED and i was a A-B student in high school from freshman to senior year also i had colleges like Standford and Georgetown looking at me and i couldn't graduate because of one stupid standardized test (the math) and i spent close to a thousand dollars in tutoring and still i couldn't pass and im forced to get a GED i just pray to God its different than that advanced geometry/algebra test

  • It was not difficult to me dude. The writing section was the hardest. In my opinion, anyone with at least a 5th grade education and some common sense should pass. I will be getting my results back in about 3 more weeks. Also, I just got into a lot of trouble and was permantly expelled from my highschool, so that's why i am getting mine.

  • @TheZombahs thanks man, like do they let you take classes to prepare for it?

  • Yepp, i didn't think i really needed it but i took them anyways lol

  • @TheZombahs true i know some people who are stupid and they passed highschool!!

  • @TheZombahs but you are so nice about it!

  • Well that's mainly because you were nice to me to begin with, instead of most twat waffles on here that just wanna start arguements about something.

  • @TheZombahs Ofcourse! and thank you again. and yes it is such a problem!

I wish the youtube community would be better, but Oh well that is why the block botton is useful.

  • @TheZombahs LOL well I live in NYC. thank you so much for your advice!

  • @KiDBEAST443 not necessarily, i use my anxiety for tests to my advantage. I just took the math, language, and writing portion yesterday.. and honestly it wasn't bad, just take your time, i am taking the science and social studies today, well, in 2 hours. But anyways, you'll be fine dude, it was easier than the TABE.

  • @TheZombahs SO IF YOU DIDNT DO GOOD ON THE MATH PART BUT ACED THE OTHER PARTS WILL YOU STILL PASS AND WHAT WAS THE MOST HARD PART ABOUT THE TEST SO FAR DUDE

  • @KiDBEAST443 i am not sure... i think you have to make a 410 on each part to pass it and a total of 1,700 or something.. the hardest part is when they try to trick you, but it is easy to see, it's not that rough of a test dude i promise.

  • @TheZombahs it wasnt that bad? I hope you did good!. Im taking it 2morrow. Im so nervous..

  • @hopscotch92

Yes but you either need a GED or a highschool diploma.. :D you also need EXPERIENCE!!!

  • @TheZombahs Your comment is worded so perfectly, agreed..

  • @HybridHeavenZ =] i try to make my comments and whatever else i type to be PERFECT, well near perfect, so if someone is an ass, i can drop some grammar nazism their way. ;]

  • @HybridHeavenZ oh and i am taking my GED in about 50 minutes! wish me luck please!

  • People act like it's a big deal it's because people need to feel good about themselves so they need to put others down and they need to feel important...instead of working on that work on your shitty character.

  • @KiDBEAST443 lol u didn't graduate from high school? i thought most people graduated. oh, i almost dropped out fyi since i didn't go my senior year.

  • what if you have A.D._ oooh you can attach a video?

  • G.E.D is much harder then the HIGHSCHOOL DIPLOMA ask your TEACHERS! the only difference is that you need credits for the h.s diploma..and what not..Doesn't make you any less then what people know. Some are so IGNORANT! I know many people who make a great living graduated college..and have there GED..G.ED is hard!! not EASY!

  • @Kellogs213 Thank goodness I graduated from high school.

  • heard the GED was a long ass test :o

  • @Clownfefe

It's 7 1/2 hours long. Test day is a very long day, but once it's over you can kick back and relax. :)

  • Im getting my "GOOD ENOUGH DIPLOMA"

  • she looks like a senior in hs

  • I am scared to death to take this test! im 25 yrs old and i have to pass this test! :( wish me luck! im signing up to take the test next week! ...*so nervouse*

  • @bmbattles890

    You got this!!!! :)

Don't be worried about the test, it's NOT as hard as you are thinking.

  • #3 40% of HIGH-SCHOOL GRADUATES CAN'T pass the GED test, that alone says that anyone who passes the GED test is, to say the least, better educated than 40% of the people who graduate from high-school.

The bare minimum to pass the test is averaged out of 60% of those high-school students who passed it, so if someone scores higher, they are reaching scores above and beyond what high-school educated students scored. "GED is for retards" <- I beg to differ. Prove me wrong.

    :)

    ~Proud GED'er.

  • @rematchsixsix

    Well Said :)

  • @bigbog987

Look how ignorant you are. "GED is for retards".

It's ironic how you claim the GED is for retards, yet you're so ignorant about it. It seems logic completely eludes you.

#1 Anyone who is dedicated enough to get a GED, even after quitting school and probably becoming lazy, is a strong-willed individual.

#2 I personally decided to take the GED route because I knew it would get me into a Tech School / College sooner, therefore getting me into a career more quickly.

  • Took my test today. :) I just turned 18, and my friends are all still in school. (Senior year haha).

I'm quite confident that I did very well on it, I worried a bit about the Essay portion of the Writing Test, because they are very strict when it comes to the requirements. lol

If you've taken it or went through a few classes at an AEC you know what I mean. :S

It's funny that I'll have an education before my friends, when I did nothing in school and they worked hard. Hehehehe! Tactical! :p

  • i have took the math part 3 times and made a 390 all 3 times all i need is a 410.....:(

  • I just got the good news today .I got an email from my school instructor I PASSED ! I got my GED ,i gotta wait ten more days ,thats ok

  • @GiovaniB52

    Congrats! :)

  • @rematchsixsix Thanks .... I never thought i would get it .......Now I can move on

  • @GiovaniB52 im taking my test

  • @GiovaniB52 congrats dude!!! what plans do you have now?

  • @Emo92Fate I applied for TSA security at the airport , and have to go through training.

  • @GiovaniB52 I hear TSA's Singing Chrismas Carols this time of Year.

  • how was it ? I'm preparing myself to take it but I'm kind of nervous @GiovaniB52

  • @vero93es not hard ...they didn't ask half the material that i studied for

  • @GiovaniB52 yes!

  • I have ADD and it has ruined my life. Specifically because of math. My attention span was always terrible. I failed algebra 2 twice and missed my diploma by 1.5 credits. I tried to go back but dropped out fast. I then got 3/4 through my GED by passing everything but the math test. Then I stopped going. Math has held me back my whole life. I am 25 and have this huge weight on my shoulders. HUGE. This time math will not conquer me. Its time to move on with my life.

  • I'm taking my GED test in 2 weeks I hope my positive mentality n my 2 hours of studying(maths I h8 it) helps me pass Ty every1 with the positive attitudes about the test makes me feel less nervous

  • Going to be taking it Soon GOD I HOPE I PASS

  • The GED test is easy as hell. I passed it just a month ago. I guessed on almost all the social studies and science. Don't listen to people who say it's hard it really isn't. I could have aced that thing when I was in 5th grade. I studied for 6 months but you could be different. The only "algebra" on it was equations and variables (x+ 4 = 12) etc. The rest was basic fractions and adding/subtracting and division. (money problems). If you have any questions about it send me a message.

  • @Firebirrd85 So you didnt have to study for the social studies and science? Did you study for those?

  • @Msblackcarter Nope.

  • @Firebirrd85

omg i suck at math i know all my mulitples cations..but are the fractions super hard...the math thing im scarred about...but i know i will past everything with flying colors :)

  • I'm going to pass!!!Woo hoo!

  • @theGimmeSympathyProj good luck

  • your hot you can teach me any day lol

  • @HEADSTRONGKINGS dude math is my problem bro too I have to retake again cuz I take my time to find the right answer.

  • @AlbanianMetalHead Did you leave unanswered questions on your math ? Meaning blank??

  • @GiovaniB52 maybe but most it bec. I take my time in trying to find the right answer.

  • I just took my GED test last week ; social studys ,science ,and language and arts was easy . Math was a little harder witch was broken into two phases: The first 25 minutes they give you a calculator ( and 45 minutes to answer them ) ,when your done ,they take away the calculator and you answer the next 25 math problems by hand and scratch paper ANOTHER 45 MINUTES ONLY. The lack of time is what makes it all hard. And your Essay . I answerd all the math .I got to wait 2 months 4 the results.

  • @GiovaniB52 It's easy as hell man. I didn't even get any algebra on mine. Just adding, multiplying, subtracting, division and equations/variables. Passed the whole thing with an above average score.

  • @GiovaniB52 omg im so nervous on taking my ged test im taking it in two weeks..what is mostly on the math part??..thats my problem = /

  • @yoliebolie Study ratios ,and calulating probability witch are not to hard .Thats what they focus on .Your not gonna get any geometry (MAYBE ONE ) problem .Some fraction quiz problems but not alot .And lots of diagrams and graphs . Go over the pythagorean theorem , (you'll probably get only one quiz on that ). I dont remember any equations. But let me also say this : I don't know in what state your in,but these GED tests might differ a little from state to state ( not alot) . Im in FL

  • is getting your ged the same as getting your hs diploma?

  • I'm gonna be 16 in November & Im starting Homeschooling in a couple days I plan on also studying to get my GED & plan on taking the GED next year. Then I can get a full time job to help my mom we still cant pay the bills & goin to public school will cost more money for gas depending on where you live. And to those of you saying kids should stay in school its their choice & sometimes they have to drop out to support family but people don't realize this plus with a GED you can still go to college.

  • hey guys, I passed the test! These are my scores....

    Language Arts Reading - 540

    Language Arts Writing/Essay - 600

    Math - 500

    Science - 440

    Social Studies - 500

    Total Score: 2580

    Average: 516

    I Passed.

  • @Firebirrd85 what source did you study to pass the test? from book, website or taking GED classes?

  • @tapirawa I studied the steck vaughn GED book from the library for 6 months.

  • @Firebirrd85 SO THE AVERAGE PASSING SCORE IS 516 ALL TOGETHER?

  • @mrjohnnyevelynable No. It's 450 in most states. If you get 450 average or higher you pass.

  • G.E.D means general education development but to me it's good enough diploma haha

  • @SmokeyAlaska not if you go to college and get a degree

  • @fugiboo i lost my opportunities, i skipped school a lot, pissed off the teachers, and got into fights with other students, haha i miss high school wish i could go back and do it over

  • I'm taking it tomorrow (september 8th) I'm scared as hell. The only thing I'm worried about is the math. I've been studying for months but it still seems too hard for me. I don't know though.....I wanna get this thing over with

  • @Firebirrd85 Hey man, good luck.

Let us know how it goes.

  • @xMalnoia It was EASY. I'm taking the rest today.

  • there's different difficulty level depending on your where abouts like if you are is the south such as sc,fl,ga , etc the test would be higher because of the failure rate down in the south but if you are in the north its more easier but study math just in case if you are bad at it .

  • @fugiboo cause high school is a better education

  • @HEADSTRONGKINGS got my G.E.D in a week

  • im really scared to take the GED test.

  • @MySaneka dont be scare, just study

  • @MySaneka Dont be thats why most people fail because of they are so scare to fail studies show that people that are scare to take the test are the ones who fail from the start of the test so just study

  • @jayr2real I take the test tomorrow

  • @Firebirrd85 good luck take your time and take it easy .

  • @MySaneka Me to cause i dropped out when i was 14 to work for my dad at his tailor shop now i am 18 and want to get my GED so i can join the army.I got a long way ahead of me.....

  • @Aaroniguess the army dose not accept ged any more only diplomas

  • @bakergreen5 army dose too need 15 college credits and score 50 or higher on the asvab....

  • @jay2ggod o realy i did not no that but i think i will stick to high school being a senior and all why not just finish its easy

  • @bakergreen5 no problem navy af dont accpt GEDs maybe 1%-10% a yearmarines take 10% gedholders once a year army and natonal guard accpt ged but need the 15 college credits i wished i wouldve stayed in school but im going for my ged this year i fail the math and essay :(

  • All you need to pass is common sense. I got 99% on the reading test and also got over 700 on all other portions except for science where I got 560 because I was guessing by then. I never studied, only brushed up on basic math (percents, fractions, etc). I did all 4 years of hs but was missing elective credits and I didn't want to go back. I still got a full scholarship for community college anyway so it worked out. So do not fret and just go for it.

  • The fact that you can have the same opportunities with a high school diploma as with a ged devalues the high school diploma.

  • @fugiboo not true. In fact, people with high school diplomas still gain a higher salary range than someone with a ged diploma. Its called an equivalence diploma. Meaning, you can still further your education with it and/or have a slightly higher job.

  • @fugiboo Okay.

  • I have searched the internet in and out trying to find methods and the only method that i know that works i got from this website

    uafree.info

It gives you a full walkthough on how to pass that ua that is coming up and it doesn't only get you clean it brings success to your life.

  • I passed my GED with an alright score. I didn't even have to study either

  • Here in New Mexico the test is $35 or $40 depends on where u take it....I kno the GED test is free in jail lol lol

  • @HEADSTRONGKINGS you must have not done well in middle school lol if you can pass middle school you can pass the ged, n if you passed the cahsee you can pass the ged, its not hard :) but that depends on how well you did in school

  • @fugiboo They test you on the stuff you would learn in high school

  • I enjoyed the video. I'm currently in ABE preparation at College to get the GED before I can enroll for a Degree. I graduated from High School and I was already told a hundred million times that I would get a certificate of completion because I couldn't pass the SAT test. However, I looked in my collections and found the High School Transcript and it shows that I graduated in 1991 and was awarded a Standard High School Diploma. Anyway, I hope to do well in GED.

  • I'm 16 years old, and I've taken the GED test for the first time today. I've passed all of the tests with flying colors, except the writing section, which hasn't been graded. If you need a tip on this, all you need is common sense, and at LEAST an 8th grade education.

  • @xPiiiii you go!! That's very good. I'll be taking mines soon I hope I do as well as you.

  • @xPiiiii Ugh, see I have more than an 8th grade education but Mathematics is what will kill me! I'm iffy on the Science part as well.

  • I'm 26 and recently laid off, so I have no money. But this has given me the chance to work on a career that I really been wanting to do my whole life Criminal Justice degree. Now i have 34 credits and no GED is there a way I can take my GED test free? also if i get all my Credits does that count as a GED so i can just move along to Criminal Justice? Please answer

  • @nasurdan I don't think you can take it for free at all, but some states like Tennessee I think have a program where they pay for your GED if you qualify for low income or whatever. The GED here where I live, Florida, is 70 dollars. I'm getting mine ASAP.

  • @DavidandMisty well you have it very good cause im from the caribbean netherland antilles and to take the test is $300, god i cant tell you how much i hate maths with a passion words cant express, but i always try to tell my self if you want to pass it love what u hate:)

  • @nasurdan How did you get college credits without a GED? It's best you contact the closest GED testing center and counsel with them about this, since I don't know where you live I couldn't find anything more than a list of test centers. Maybe a friend or family member will lend the money to you since it is for a good cause?

  • I took my practice test today for the GED and passed with flying colors. I am a freshman in high school also! This test is so easy, just time consuming.

  • I took the G.E.D... and I passed!!! I left H.S 12th grade, and haven't looked back. In my opinion if you've passed the 10th grade, you should be fine. Anyone can pass if they set their minds to it. As this woman in the video is saying, practice applying ged concepts in real life - cooking, writing blogs, whatever - it'll help you on the test. Don't be afraid that the test will be hard - you must be confident - as you don't know untill you try!

  • i heard that g.e.d test is easier then CAHSE test

  • @em1b20vtec89 Cahse is a walk in the park GED is learning how to fly backwards

  • without a a HS diploma or a g.e.d you will not go no where in life

  • HI im 22 and i droped out but I just got the news that ive passed all ged test I took 3 in one day and the remaining two a week later the frist 3 where

    (Science - 540) (Reading - 560) (Social Studies - 520)

    and the last two where

(Math - 480) (Writing - 550) ..... Of course this was no easy task and the one thing I tell younger kids PLEASE STAY IN SCHOOL

  • Going to be dropping out of High school due to personal problems requiring me to miss most of Freshman and Sophomore year making my credits like impossible to fix... I hope that when I take this I can pass. I really would like to say in school and all but I dont see how I can pass high school.

  • Let em tell you now, you better take it soon if you don't know much algebra and Geometry. Because this year 2010 they are supposed to make those part harder than ever before . So if you don't know those then take it soon lol. If ya do than take it whenever you want and good luck.

  • Well I was planning on studying up for the GED too. But I have faith that I will be able to pass.

  • Thanks mucho.!

  • I passed my G.E.D. Test today, if you take your last test and it takes more than 1 or 2 days, you passed. there is a hint for you :3

  • taking my test today and tomoorrow feeling confident but yea should have stayed in school, or atleast done this as soon as i dropped out lol

  • yea bro I dropped out in gr 11 . Im 27 now , studying to get this done and over with so I can move on to a better lifestyle.

  • It looks like we're in the same boat. I don't know algebra which makes the math part for me impossible to pass it. Do you know all of this material is there a tutor for this?

  • im takiing my predicable test this week to see if i can get into GED hope i get in any tips let me know

  • I'm taking a GED Prep. Course at my school and am about to take the actual test myself any advice?

  • @TheBomba28 ....try not to spend alot of time with one question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...that happened to me..and i had to write in any answer....and i think i failed..so yeah..try to be fast but not to fast...

  • took my G.E.D yesterday

i wish i stayed in High School

stay in school kids, make mama proud

  • I took my G.E.D yesterday for 8 hours it took so long I passed SS,Sci, Lang Arts Read, and Math I won't find out if i passed the writing till tuesday so I hope i did.

  • Dude! Thats just like me! Idk how well I did on the writing, so I hope I pass it!

  • Yeah I found out and I got 400 on the writing that really pisses me off now I have to take the writing again. I missed by 10 damn points I'm so frustrated about it!!!!!

  • I'm sry to hear tht...when are you going to take it again?

  • I don't know maybe in 2 weeks or so

  • @Oilasor925 ok its been 2months now did you really pass it?

  • @LlamaSax1 Yeah I took it on the 11th I think and I passed the writing with 470 so yeah I'm very happy about that. Thanks for asking.

  • @Oilasor925 ahh sweet im taking the classes next week the 27th and 28th MANDATORY!! lol

  • I took my GED test on October 13th and 15th, this month I get my results in the mail. I believe I did really good, can't wait to get it, got some goals i'm looking to acomplish with it.

  • Does a GED really work?

  • Yes it does work, I got mine in mail a couple of days ago.
