  • @Shanniquitie Classical music is middle class, as they are the only class that, as a group pretends to be a class level higher than they are. There's no inherent value in classical music over any other type of music. An unconscious pretension causes people to value it.

  • "You're in bloody trouble"

    He described that situation perfectly.

  • I am Australian and I aboslutely cracked up at the "your in bloody trouble" bit. Mainly because there is some truth to it.

  • ive seen that doco!! hahahaha

  • The documentary looks awesome and I'm definitely going to check it out, but I am so disturbed by the popping sound of the exploding toads. The sound is stuck in my head now and has yet to fail in making me shudder.

  • @rottworks i've actually had to watch it for a biology class.

  • @lephong Lucky! The only video I remember watching in a bio class was one about an English garden growing wild and the animals it attracted. It was interesting, but not quite as entertaining as this one seems to be.

  • @rottworks it...definitely sticks in ur mind. its very 80's-90's looking and i think it was to study species and their relationships with other animals or something. it was a while back. man i remember when they used to show a whole lot more videos when i was younger. schoolhouse rock, bill nye the science guy and magic schoolbus. man what happened to learning with entertainment?

  • @Shanniquitie are you suggesting that the middle class are smarter?

  • @Shanniquitie Fuck you cunt - so it doesn't matter if I'm working class and a student of music, I'm just too stupid? Fuck off!

  • @Shanniquitie There's no link between intelligence and classical music. Classical music is nothing more than a tradition perpetuated (funded) by the government. It can't exist by itself as there isn't a sufficient audience to fund it. People listen to it occasionally for the same reason we wear certain suits when we get married, why we wear ties, why we wear collared shirts. It has nothing to do with intelligence. It is mere tradition.

  • How can you quantify toads as being as evil as nazi's. KILL THE TOAAAAAAAAD!

  • cane toads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mosh pit? Gosh pit? Why not "posh pit"?

  • @janeeyre1990 THATS exactly what I was thinking. Missed opportunity there.

  • "Whats his name? ...Steve"

    "Andy kershaw"

    "YES"

    I love bill bailey :')

  • Squee!

    POP!

  • It's a good thing that wasn't an American toad. I don't know about cane toads, but the American ones will empty their bladders when they're frightened, and Bill was holding that one at a somewhat unfortunate angle.

  • that dude in the dark talking about drinking toad is so greg fleet! when he had hair, of course

  • Jesus! i watched that documentary in year 9 science!

  • @southsydney Me too!

  • @southsydney yes, so did i. and again in year 10.

  • @YouveStolenMyEyes aussie schooling is awesome eh

  • Let's go mental, Toby!

  • I saw that toads show in one of my classes last year...hilarious stuff, Bill Bailey (obviously) has great taste!

  • I love last night of the proms...everybody gets together and has fun. And the music is great.

  • I though I liked BB before watching this, Now I like him even more!!!

  • Your in bloody trouble,

    lmao

  • @alistumpy lol yeah that made me LOL

  • I agree what he says about last night of the Proms.

  • Watched Cane Toads: An Unnatural History in my Biology 20 class one day when we had a sub. No one was laughing except me and my friends because they couldn't figure out if it was serious or not. It is SO FUNNY.

  • It's incredible--I saw it ages ago on cable and came in on the bit where the toad is in a crate, and then it cuts to the toad's POV. In that moment, I knew this was a movie for me.

  • The "poison" is actually bufotenin which is hallucinogenic.

  • Ahaha Bills totally had a few drinks before he came on here - awesome!

  • a few drinks... more like a big fat joint... he looks fucked

  • Comment removed

  • @MrCheese654 Maybe he rolled his own drinks?

  • the consciousness of the cactus sounds like a laugh.

  • omg We watched the cane toads documentary in my science class last semester! It really is quite hilarious. haha

  • "I'm wearing an amusing tie!"

    ROFL

  • You're in bloody trouble...

Absolutely hilarious! Had me laughing at that for the rest of the show, all night, and the next day! :p

  • ahahaha same here

  • the aussie who's off his tits on toad juice is like a poor man's keith richards hohoho!

  • these two blokes are excellent together...

  • they used to work together before they were famous, on comedy stage shows and stuff.

  • "You're in bloody trouble" lol. Just the way Bill says the guy didn't say it to him, he speeds up a bit and whispers it under his breath.

  • "you're in bloody trouble" LOL!

  • lets go mental toby.. right oh. ha aha ha ha ha

  • Hahahaha...OMG! I had to watch that documentary at school. Our class loved the guy who wud watch the toads mating in his yard. And the guy lining the toads up on the road, classic moment.

  • I remember seeing that 80s Cane Toad documentary in science class at school!

    Loved the toad-stomping Combi.

    I'm getting all nostalgic now.

  • Same. This is the most surreal piece of documentary that I've ever seen.

  • cane toads.

    drugs and road-style fun!

  • ROFL @ the hankerchiefs!

  • bluuuuuuudy hell, the hankies?!?!? And those awful toffs at the proms LOL! Your havin a fuckin laff aren't ya?!

  • that proms shit was well weird!!

  • tubular bells

  • Bill makes a very true point, that classical music is listened to people all around the globe, but it puts some off because of the whole upper-middle class, snobby association that comes with it; when really it is beautiful music.

  • First of all, the Albert Hall is actually not that large so yes, it limits the amount of people that fit in. However it is broadcast to various locations around the UK where thousands of people all show up for a free concert. It doesn't matter what age you are, what ethnicity, people join together as a group and appreciate classical music together. There are hundreds of concerts over proms season and it's quite cheap. Last night of the proms is the most famous but it's not the only proms show!

  • @meaning1 well said.......

  • @meaning1 Tell me about it, I don't tell people I listen to Classical not because I'm ashamed of it, but because I don't want people to think I'm a total snob.

  • I wonder what the hell the drivers behind that wildly weaving van must have thought!

  • That popping the cane toads bit sure stuck with me for a while...

  • goshpit hahaha

  • That's no bullshit about the canetoads. I've got a mate from Catherine in the NT who still tells stories about the Jihad declared the year the cane toads came to town.

I understand the traditional method of dispatch involves a five iron.

  • The hankies bit, thats a joke right? People do that?

  • OMG! I've seen that cane toad documentary. It's wonderful! The same guy who made that also made The Natural History of the Chicken. Great!

  • Natural History of the Chicken is an amazing film, one of my favorite documentaries.

  • you should really try seeing the cane toad doc, then. it's hilarious, as well as informative. and there are songs. as you might imagine, any song about a cane toad must be marvelous.

*high five for the natural history of the chicken*

  • Yes I've seen that doc too of course. :) As I recall it got a lot of air play in the States when it came out.

  • 'your in bloddy trouble' lol
