whenever i i listen to this song all i can think about its my past to my dreams, its makes me think that things will never be as great as ur memories but too not forget about how great you can become. it makes me remember the times when i laughed soo hard with my friends too the times when i felt soo alone. It makes me think more than i want but i love it at the same time cus every time i cant help but have a smile on my face knowing that this song will relive my past and make my future.

i hate when songs are this good bc you just want to keep repeating it but then you know if you listen too much you'll kill the song but then the song is so awesome you just cant stop listening oh my god i hate using punctuation
@CareyPortnoyBeauford i know man, but what's peculiar is that i listened to this song for the first time the night before i took a road trip from Hilton Head to Orlando. I woke in the night remembering that I wanted to listen to it again but, half-concious I fell back asleep. I listened to this song on repeat the entire trip the next morning from dark, to sunrise to mid afternoon. At this writing, I've lost count of the amount of times I've listened to it, but definitely in the tens of thousands
@CareyPortnoyBeauford lol yeah i always not repeat listening to my fav songs, i do that once in a while even though it's pretty much like mild self-torturing lol, but yeah just to make it last as long as possible XD
This is the first and only song to ever make me cry and helped me when I was going through a tough time. It is just powerful and brings out emotions that never would have come out normally.
I have seen the future,MOGWAI, the Monoliths of Modern Kraut and Progrock, the Doom-Motörhead of the Introvertive ..the instumental Postrock King Crimson with Luke Sutherland on violin and voice (the only african scot sman in their middle)..and it blew me away ..TT Geigenschrey
@Highmeh85 One night a group of my friends and i attempted to decipher the words. Each of us wrote down what we heard then shared it after the song was over. All of us heard different things, but all beautifully meaningful and insightful. That night my appreciation for Mogwai tripled as I realized that this introspective perspective garnered thru their music is equally deep and unique for each person. Within their arrangements they are able to touch the core of human sentiency and decency.
@ponyfang what a great song to fall in love to, i feel in love listening to explosions in the sky and red sparowes, the girls gone now but the songs are just as strong this song is going to make you fucking cry like no other if she leaves you...
@DrunkTankMusic Aw congrats :) Mogwai is amazing to listen to with that person you truely care about.oh by the way, Im ponyfang's girl. :) Its been almost a year. its funny looking back at the comment. :) I wish you the best with the person you listened to this song with :)
LOVE this song! I used to listen to this everyday on the way home from work & would realize I'm doing 85 in a 60 zone almost every time. It just carries you away! Live outside of Nashville TN and have yet to catch them live, but I'll catch them eventually if I have to goto Scotland!
The cure of the disease "Depression" Mogwai, the bright side of life and all the good times, memories. Prevents action of suicidal, shows you down the path to the meaning of your birth.
@silverfuck77jpm Good call. I'm fairly new to Mogwai, but a huge Pumpkins fan. I realised the riff from Yes I am A Long Way From Home sounds a lot like the Rocket riff. I guess they like Siamese Dream (and well, who wouldn't?)
Whenever I hear this song, it's like I make that subconscious journey to that perfect place. That place where the patterns of the world don't apply. That place where it can be whatever you want it to be. I truly can say that those of us who are taken away to this realm are some of the only truly sane, and insane, people left on this planet. I consider it a privilege to share this music, this gateway to this perfect place, with like minded individuals. Thank you all.
This is the one guitar lick in the whole of music I wish I'd written! I discovered this tune on a skate video, my cousin's in it and this was the music to his section. Wonderful.
I was about 15 and was listening to this song on a beach in cornwall on holiday with my family, i can remember how relaxed and at peace i was. I havn't listened to this song in years til now, it takes me back.. such a tune
I think I understand the metaphor...Is it about constipation?
Turds move infinitely slow as they cross the "event horizon" of a brown hole....To the outside observer nothing has changed...but you rectum is being pulled apart to infinity...
i first heard mogwai when i was 15 or 16 years old. their music shaped my teenage years. i learned how to drive and would pop in a mix tape of all my favourite post rock and indie songs and drive to the beach and feel alone but happy. i was in love at the time and this music perfectly accompanied it. i love listening to this song and thinking back to my youth. i'm still young, i'm 25 this song still moves me to tears. it's beauty
@gekrepten Mogwai did to you like Explosions does to me... This genre of pure music is the only one i find true joy in, just like you. I just finished a book, and was so moved by post rock, I had to put song titles and references. I felt obligated to, for how much this music has changed me as a person. Truly something to always appreciate. Post rock FTW!
@gekrepten Im the exact same way. Im 14 now, and feel in love with this since 12. Magwai, post rock in general has changed my life, how I look at things and how I think. Its crazy how music can affect you.
@gekrepten I had the same experience my friend. What I would give to relive that time for just a moment. Bands like Mogwai, Sigur Ros, The Postal Service, The Shins, The Motorhomes, Kent, and old Coldplay B sides shaped my best years.
@mojoxrisin dude coldplay B-sides were incredible. i've had the same experience also with sigur ros, mogwai, explosions in the sky, this will destroy you, death cab, the shins, postal service, and coconut records
@gekrepten I'm 16 and just found out about them last year, I really want to do what you did, but I already do that walking around outside. It's great, especially at sunsets
theres something about this song. i cannot say what it is for sure, but every time i hear it, it makes me feel so amazing. its like, " oh yeah, thats why i was born, to listen to mogwai" brilliant.
@69aznboi haha, it's appreciated. Thanks, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky and Ludovico Einaudi changed my perspective on life. You will be required to do wrong no matter where you go. It is the basic
condition of life, to be required to violate your own identity. At some time, every creature
which lives must do so. It is the ultimate shadow, the defeat of creation; this is the curse at
work, the curse that feeds on all life. Everywhere in the universe.
