It is purely a nonsense to perform this song other than in french because the value of a poem is due widely to the sound and syntax of this language.

The tempo is too fast for a romantic ballad from a man to his beloved lady.

Originally, it is too a monophonic song without any accompaniment.

To conclude it isn't a valid acceptable version but for english ones.
